Halloween Ends (2022)
One of the worst Halloween movies of all time
Wow - what the hell was that all about?! You'd think the final Halloween saga would be a Michael Myers movie - well unfortunately no its not! The whole plot and storyline around Corey absolutely sucked and made no sense what so ever. We got to see Michael hiding in the sewers after 40 minutes of Corey and his girl friend trying to pull each other and a pathetic deep storyline about him accidentally killing a child and being bullied for it. The fact Corey could pass Myers the evil to do killings was just ridiculous. Corey taking off his mask and running around with it on - come on. Like he could just snatch his mask - As if Michael was this frail weak guy. And who the hell is going to go into a sewer to steal a killers mask too? It honestly felt like a cheap Stephen king movie / rip off.
There was no suspense at all where he would be creeping up on people, hardly any stalking, the kill scenes were way too fast and very poorly done. Hardly any shots in and around Haddonfield. I feel really bad for Jamie lee Curtis ending her Halloween career with this trash. Blumhouse - You owe John Carpenter and Jamie Lee an apology seriously. As this was really really bad!
Candyman: Shadow Puppets (2020)
Brilliantly done, but a little too over political
Spoiler alert. Was pleasantly suprised by this sequel to the original. The storyline and recap from the original was absolutley fantastic in this. The acting was spot on and theres no cheap scares here either. The candyman in this is actually creepier and scarier than the original. I did feel that there was just maybe too much focus on the political side of things though and very short scenes were candyman was actually there meaning there was less horror and much more political messaging. I know that was probably intentional but as a horror fan I would of prefered if it was the other way around. It was brilliant how some parts were based on Carbini green again. All in all way better than Candyman 2 and 3, defo was worth waiting for and love the new concepts behind him it really was scary.
Friday the 13th (2009)
Much better than expected! *SPOILERS*
I was actually really impressed with this remake, i was a huge fan of the original and for once this re-make /reboot doesn't spoil it at all, Jason seemed Darker, bigger, more violent and certainly scarier than ever, half of my cinema screen was screaming or laughing every 2 minutes, was barrels of fun. Only thing i would say was i thought Jason was killed a little to easy, i mean throughout the entire movie jason was slaughtering everyone and no-one even stood a chance of hitting him, then in the last 15 minutes one guy seems to hit him and then the whole death scene begins! Was a little too fast, he seems way invincible throughout then this?!? I really cannot wait for the DVD and hopefully Friday the 13th part 2!!!!!!!! Im no glad to see a decent SCARY horror in cinemas instead of them ridiculous Saw style films, blood and guts ain't scary...they are just not realistic either. You can believe in Jason...or some phsycopath, next time i stay in a log cabin in the woods im making sure the windows are dead locked ha. No but really - it was a ace film, If you haven't watched it yet, go check it out!
