I know nothing of the source material
6 March 2024
I went in to this movie expecting a train wreck of a film and left pleasantly surprised. It felt like a movie that should have come out in the time that it was taking place. 2003 I believe? I wish this could have been handled by someone like Sam Raimi who could have amped up the horror elements as well as the humor.

When compared to something like Happy Death Day, Before I Fall or some other Groundhog Day horror film I think I it truly stands out.

The dialog is cheesy and the audio isn't always synced up but the female cast is great. Parts of it actually reminded me of Dark Angel. There isn't a lot of depth, most of the cheesy and eye rolling moments are saved for the end of the film.

I recommend it to people who want to see a cheesy "thriller" it's also fairly kid safe.

The English voices/translation
8 February 2024
These voices made my head feel like it was going to explode. Constantly talking over each other in weird cartoon or AI sounding voices. I had to turn it off even though the information seemed interesting enough. I don't even think I can explain it. Hopefully I'm not the only one that feels this way.

It's almost like the backup voices are too loud and the audio is all mixed strangely.

I appreciate that it is more fast paced than a lot of these series and that it isn't set up like some true crime podcast.

I with they would release it with the original dialog and English subtitles. Time to find something else to watch.

Ahsoka (2023– )

Wow
30 August 2023
My hopes were raised with Andor and crushed by Ahsoka. It's like the person that greenlit the Lizzo episode of mandalorian was given the privilege of overseeing an entire series. I kind of like the casting but there is something about this series that feels like a poor man's Ratchet and Clank.

I will keep giving it a chance but my faith in Star Wars is at an all time low. What once seemed like the most infinite and interesting universe has become sci-fi schlock.

I can't even explain the feeling I get when watching it. I can't say it's boring. The special fx aren't great or terrible. It simply isn't good.

Andor: Announcement (2022)

The Star Wars I always wanted
26 October 2022
I'm 42 years old and was obsessed with the original trilogy. I tolerated the prequels and grew absolutely bored with Star Wars with the sequel trilogy. Rogue One want the deepest Star Wars film but it felt like Star Wars. With each passing episode of Andor I start to like Rogue One even more. I'm glad that it's reviewing well. So much depth and back story for the original trilogy that doesn't feel like some sort of wacky George Lucas cartoon.

I typically don't enjoy waiting a week for new episodes and truly wish more of this show dropped at once but I have to admit that I've never been disappointed with this show. I left disappointed with every episode of Boba Fett and always felt as if The Mandalorian was a less interesting Xena. Thank you Disney for finally producing a Star Wars product that doesn't feel it is written for people who just want to hunt for Easter eggs. You have a fan!

The Munsters (2022)
8/10
Campy, cheap, and entertaining kids film
29 September 2022
I loved this film. It took awhile for my brain to adapt to the tone and world that was being created but once it did I throughly enjoyed myself as did my 4 year old. I actually could help but imagine seeing this as a child. The family friendly scenes of horror without a horror atmosphere is something that is truly missing these days. It wasn't trying to be modern. It wasn't even trying to be polished. Better than Halloween Town, equal to Yoga Hosers, but not as good as Ernest Scared Stupid.

I loved The Munsters as a kid and I'll admit this isn't as classy, thought out, or timeless as the old show it is still better than 99% of modern day "reimagining" that is being done.

Way better than the awful trailer.

Season finale of season 3
12 August 2022
This show keeps getting progressively worse. The overall atmosphere is almost comical. I don't know if it is the poor makeup they are using to age the characters or if it's the overall direction.

There have been so many serious issues this show has attempted to take on but none of them get the attention or depth that they deserve.

I know they have green lit a season 4. Hopefully it is the last and hopefully they do these characters some justice.
