Michael & Michael Have Issues (2009)
Sadly, not so great.
I was sad about this series. It only lasted a few episodes and they didn't really dig deep in to how they wanted the show. Them having a studio audience for the 30 second (if that) intro's was pretty pointless, and everything as a whole didn't really seem to go anywhere.
Stella, the group, and the show is genius. David Wain doesn't really add to the group as far as jokes (he did hit me hard with laughter at a few of them though), but he is a damn fine writer/director and knows how to get their style humor on screen. This show, I can't really recommend sadly, it does have a few funny spots but I would really look elsewhere in Stella and their other side projects.
Nacho Libre (2006)
Meh, I knew it would come to this.
The thing that made me love Napoleon Dynamite (when it first came out before everyone ruined it.) was the genuine dry humor. Well, Nacho Libre comes out by the same director, and I figured this was going to happen.
Because Napoleon Dynamite was pretty much the first movie of its kind to ever come out, that is why I thought it was hilarious. I had never seen anything like it before. All the actors in ND were relaxed and said every line dry and everything, but this movie I felt as if everyone was trying to imitate that kind of humor... but they imitated it horribly by forcing/overacting everything. Throw in a couple fake fart noises whenever Jack Black jumps and there you have it.
A crappy movie.
I give it a 3 just because of the corn/eye scene. that was the only thing that kind of made me laugh.
Inside Man (2006)
Blah...
Well, I was looking forward to seeing this film since I am a fan of Clive Owen's work, and well... the whoever wrote this script... wow. This has to be the worst written film I've seen in a while. I'm tired of seeing racism portrayed, while being racist. When the cop pulls of a mask of a guy and see's he has dark skin he goes OH MY GOD ITS A F'N ARAB!!! And he's taken down/beat up. Yes, this can possibly happen, but I highly doubt they would.
And how about the "video game violence"? Ooo video games cause people to be gangsta killa's eh? Too many points were trying to be shown, and they were shown very poorly.
I was highly disappointed with this film because the fact that it's been advertised as having huge twists and turns, and there's hardly anything at all to make your mind freak out.... just a mindless heist film with a poor script.
Oh yeah! Denzel Washington is in this movie... playing the exact same role as he is in every movie! The crazy black guy who doesn't take anything from everybody! Why is he so critically acclaimed?
