Baking Impossible (2021)
Netflix has too much money
Yet another incredibly derivative baking show. Are there not enough of these already?
Managed one episode and it was awful. Nobody has any personality or is introduced to the audience, who are the judges? No idea. Maybe I missed that, because this struggled to hold my attention.
Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile (2019)
The documentary that wasn't.
Whilst Zac Efron does a good job portraying Ted Bundy it did feel as though I was watching a dramatisation that you'd see in something like Forensic Files.
Imagine something like that... but 2 hours long, with no commentary.
Perhaps if I see it again it'll become clear what it's supposed to be, but I'm not particularly tempted.
Thor: The Dark World (2013)
An unaccomplished sequel
As per Marvel studios the production, effects, costumes etc were fantastic, certainly provided a spectacle.
The plot however was (to sound like a douche critic) fairly contrived. Followed a very basic formula with little depth and character development.
I found it kept my attention moreso towards the end and the individual performances were well acted, given what they had to work with.
Put it this way, the mid end credits scene crammed more plot into 30 seconds (and an intriguing performance from Benicio del Toro) than most of the film.
A Belfast Story (2013)
A frustrating watch
The film was not well written, acted or directed. There was one compelling scene towards the end of the scene but otherwise I was bored and frustrated at the lack of structure to the film.
The underlying story is solid and could potentially be a great movie, but not in the hands of this director. Acting was often wooden and scene transitions didn't flow well.
