Wraith (2017)
Some good things
Most of the cast was decent, the young woman who played the teenage daughter was problematic. It could have been a much better movie had they found a more versatile actress for that role. The cinematography, lighting, score was great, the slow pacing would have worked if the young woman was more dynamic and likable. Unfortunately, she played the character (perhaps this was also a fault of the writing?) as a one note, 2-dimensional teenager who seemed completely detached from the character's parents. The chemistry between the cast was flat and didn't hang together as real. I think mostly because of the young actresses portrayal but there could have been other factors. Maybe it could have worked if so much of the story wasn't reliant on her performance. It's a lot for a young actor to carry and I think the young woman has talent but her in this role was an odd fit that diminished the film. Overall it's better than many films in this genre.
Ghostbusters (2016)
If your a lame wannabe film critic and misogynist...
If your a lame film school dropout or loser wannabe Hollywood writer or sorry sack wannabe director you'll hate this move because it's pure FUN ENTERTAINMENT. You'll also hate this movie if your an idiotic misogynist, overly sentimental about the original or have no sense of humor.
If you enjoy fun, funny entertaining old fashioned Hollywood summer movie fun - you will enjoy this film. We LOVED IT! My daughter, my husband, my mother-in-law and I.
So suck it TROLLS!
This movie ROCKS!
Don't Wake Mommy (2015)
The worst
Hey lifetime hire someone with lady parts to write your scripts. a monkey could have written a more insightful story about a barnacle. Besides be incredibly slow, the underlying misogyny oozing from every pore of this film was distressing. How could a channel meant for women make a film that was offensively ignorant of what being a mother, wife, woman, human, living creature be? I have never seen anything so insanely 2-dimensional and lacking in insight or even entertainment value. I felt very badly for the actresses who had to try to give life to this absolutely inane script. I hope lifetime learns a lesson from this - the lesson is simple. Women are people too.
