Person of Interest: The Devil You Know (2014)
Brilliant!!
I approached this one with a sense of foreboding. Because last season's 9th episode is still fresh in my heart (RIP Carter). When the machine gave Elias' number , I was praying & excited in equal measure. So, while it didn't reach last season's corresponding episode's heights , it still showed the Strengths of this show. I mean , who else can make you emotional with a phone call among two gangsters while the main arc is focusing on the fight between 2 Machines??
I aways think that a show is defined by its characters and for a show about AI, this show definitely brings out a lot of layers in its characters. We all remember how Hersh (who was a bad ass villain in Season 2 Finale) went out like a hero in Season 3 Finale. So, Anthony ( I always thought of him as Scarface!) had his great moments before going out with a Bang!!( Literally) . Now that's the real Brotherhood. This episode just emphasizes that Team Machine isn't finished with trouble anytime soon. Samaritan and now the Brotherhood is coming for them. Watch Out Team!! I am certainly watching.
Person of Interest: Death Benefit (2014)
One of the most dark & intense episodes!!
If you have not watched this episode, then I recommend that you stop here and go watch this episode to experience one of the best hours on Television. POI has always ended it's seasons on a high and I think this episode was a buildup to what I expect is to be a great end to the 3rd season. The tone was set from the start as the world becomes aware of the existence of a massive surveillance system.
The team encounters the number of a Congressman who may be in danger as he is in the way of Decima bringing Samaritan online. But then, we discover that he was being protected by the Decima as he will help them (WHAT?) instead and this is where we see a new side to The Machine. It wants the team to kill the Congressman and proves that The Machine doesn't care about the means to achieve its end. This was the most worried that I have ever seen Finch ( and he has every reason to be) which also induces some of that worry into the viewer.
This episode just hammers the danger of the upcoming apocalypse and sets up the final stretch of episodes perfectly. Kudos to the writers for such a magnificent story telling.
I'm not sure about you but I can't wait 2 weeks for the next episode.
Person of Interest: Most Likely to... (2014)
"Was it something I said?"
This episode was a mix of some comedy (probably the best in series, but not much!) , 2 case of the weeks, and some progress on the overall plot. There were some really witty lines and the Vigilance part was great. The regular slaps to John were really enjoyable and this is probably the first time I saw Shaw blushing , which to me was really surprising. The only concern for me is that we are now seeing less and less of Reese after "4C" . Even Fusco got in a few good minutes. This sets a tone for the final stretch of episodes this season and I think we can expect things to heat up after the ending of this episode. Overall, a highly recommended one.
Person of Interest (2011)
Entertaining, Complex and Intelligent
When I started watching POI, I thought of it as just a Good show. But believe me, I was never bored so I stuck to it as the Entertainment factor was there from the start.
There was your case of the week, some kick-ass action by Jim Caviezel, some really cool tech (The Machine,of course) and your typical good cop and bad cop. But as the show began to progress, the characters' past began to come forward, some new villains got introduced and by the end of the first season, I was thoroughly hooked to the show.
But as the second season started, I knew that I was going to watch this show to the end. The plot became denser, the "mythology" of the Machine was explored and suddenly, this show became my Favorite on the TV. So, by the end of the third season, I was addicted to the show.
Then, the third season started strongly and by the mid of third season, I was completely Blown Away. Sure, there was still the case of the week, but they explored so many different story arcs and put in so many twists , It's difficult not to Love this show and its characters.
So, if you want a thrilling and no BS show, then stick to it(even if you may feel a little dull around the first 10 episodes) and believe me , you will be handsomely rewarded.
