Alloo Undercover (2001)
'Police, Police!!! I've 1 kilogram cocaine! Catch me if you can!'
In September 2001 started 'Alloo Undercover'. In this program Luk Alloo goes undercover and searches exotic animals, a lot of drugs, illegal weapons,... Every week, 500.000 peoples watched it. In Flanders that's not very much.
But as you make a program like this you have to know not everybody will agree with the idea of it. For example: Luk searched fake-watches, so he paid for five fake Rolex-watches and Rolex started with a cause. And the politician 'Herman De Croo' was the abstainer of the part about overhearing.
It was very exiting and sometimes you could laugh. Certainly by the police with his cocaine, that was great! This was one of my favorites and one the most exiting ones in that kind of programs!!!
Don't vote Herman De Croo
Sketch à gogo (2004)
What can I say... WATCH IT!!!
The name 'Sketch à gogo' is very appropriate, I don't know what a 'gogo' is but the program is about sketches with approximately 30 different pairs like 'de holbewoners', 'Ramon en Theo' and 'Van Puymbroek en Meneer Doktoor', my favorite one. They are played by Peter Van de Begin and Stany Crets, famous of 'Debby en Nancy' and 'Raf en Ronny'. Their toilet humor, almost always in the Antwerp dialect was very funny and the sketches are maybe better than those of 'Chris van den Durpel'. Peter and Stan say about the show that you can laugh with the jokes as you like to laugh and as you can't laugh than you're lifeless. So as you hear that, you will think they like their own program, but they say they don't like the program because it's their own program. Sketch à gogo wasn't very popular and I'm sure that's because everybody thinks it's stupid but believe me, you will certainly like it!
Sterke verhalen (1997)
It's good but 'familie Backeljau' was better!!!
In Flanders Geert Hoste is the man of the one man-shows. Luk Wijns, the writer and actor of the famous TV-series 'De familie Backeljau' also tried to make a show. Not like Geert Hoste about topicality but a trilogy about urban legends and other 16+ story's . The first part Called 'K.N.T', The second one ' Schaamteloze vertellingen' and the third one was 'de maniak'. And to be honest, I liked the way of talking in the Antwerp dialect and his jokes. Only the plot wasn't very good, but that's not important!
It was not very popular on TV (I think no one gonna read this in the first five years), so it started about midnight and than it's not so funny any more to watch.
Vergeet je tandenborstel niet! (1999)
One of my favorite shows
Walter Grootaers is certainly not the man of the intelligent shows. He presented Big Brother, Fear factor and many more. But also 'Vergeet je tandenborstel niet!' aka 'De Tandenborstel show' ('Don't forget your tooth-brush' in English). And that name is very appropriate. Everybody in the public had a tooth-brush to do the dance on the soundtrack of the show.
As you would go to the final than you must do first an 'easy' mission like show your dick on a funny way or somethings like this. But always a little bit ordinary. So, as you win in the final than you get a beautiful holiday to a tropical 'paradise'. But as you lose, you win a 'trip' to an old Flemish family. But almost no one lost the final. To be honest, this is the best program with Walter Grootaers ever and it stays in my top-ten of best programs!!!
