Mea Culpa (2024)
Entertaining
I'm glad I did not read the reviews before watching. I really enjoyed the movie and I did not see the twist coming.
It had a strong female character, Kelly did an ex Ellen's job acting. It had mystery, suspense, and a bit of passion. The paint scene was steamy.
It did start slow but I think it was needed to set up the characters.
I like Tyler Perry movies as they have drama and are entertaining. I'm confused at all the 1 ratings. I know everyone has a right to their own opinions and movies are not for everyone. I usually try not to watch movies rated under 4.5 but I'm glad I watched this. If you like crime drama with twists this is for you.
Spirited (2022)
Feel good movie
I moved my rating up this year. This movie is more awesome each time you listen. The best adaptation of a Christmas Carol. Musicals are not my first choice but this is fabulous. Ryan, Will and. Octavia are fantastic. Uplifting and comical.
I have rewatched several times and the music has started to be catchy. This story is such a twist with the perp being an impact on the 'angel'. Each time the movie gets intense a comic relief comes making it viewable to teenagers.
I would like to see this purchasable for year after year viewing. This has a good strong message of caring about your people you interact with.
The Morning Show (2019)
Definitely a binge worthy show!
This storyline is so emotional and rings true with the times of silence during harassment. It not only shows what it did to the women, but also the men including the perpetrator. I read many reviews that said season one was awesome but 2 was not. I disagree. This show has been captivating from episode 1. It deals with so much emotion and how different individuals deal with the same tragedy. The cast is fantastic and I can't wait for season 3! I found myself rooting for certain cast and then disliking them the next show and then back to caring about them the next episode. The writing was phenomenal as well as top notch cast. I definitely recommend this! Worth paying for the streaming service just for this show.
Big Sky (2020)
1st season great
I loved the first season. Solid 8. Subsequent seasons kind of "jumped the shark". The first season was solid with human trafficking. After the first season the story line got a bit over the top and not as interesting or believable.
And Just Like That... (2021)
Fun to have this back!
I personally am enjoying the show as that is what it's for. It's a reunion with the ladies I loved to watch 20 years ago. They are not the same as 20 years ago and neither am I. I like they tried to bring back many of the same actors and infusing new. Which again in life isn't that also true? I intend to sit back and enjoy the ride. I think the writers are doing a good job.
Nobody (2021)
Cinema returns!
Maybe it's my age but I heard complaints about soundtrack- I LOVED it. Loved the story. The simplicity but not boring. Some stories are so complex hard to follow. Violence? It's an action thriller??? Isn't that what it's supposed to be? I really liked Bob O before and now respect him even more. What a good movie. Beat one to come out in at least a year!!!
Murder in the Woods (2017)
Best horror movie in awhile
The twist ending wasn't so surprising but this was as I read someone described as a fun old fashioned horror movie. I felt the character building was good and the scares were 'jumpy". The girl fight was realistic and added a bit of comedy to the tension. I very much enjoyed this movie.
21 Years: Quentin Tarantino (2019)
Quentin is the best!
I really enjoyed this documentary as it showed Quentin's passion for movies. It showed how the actors that have worked for him love doing so. His movies all are very well written and very well casted. I love the way his characters chat about nothing and he really does a good job in getting you to like his characters. This documentary left me puzzled as it seemed like a tribute to a deceased person. I would have liked Quentin to actually interview. It also seemed like a PR to divorce him from Weinstein. I did really enjoy this mostly because I Love every movie he has made. Big fan in Ohio.
