The many genres of this series
4 October 2020
It's probably one of the best shows I've ever seen because in a way, it has a bit of many genres including drama, romance, comedy, and even mystery. Kim Soo hyun is truly mesmerizing. You can expect the best story with the most exceptional actors, please spend your precious time watching this series and you won't be disappointed.

A beautiful story
4 October 2020
The background music of this series is often distracting and sometimes even annoying. However, the story is beautiful and the characters are genuine. It's a romance between a 35 year old woman and her best friend's younger brother (and also her younger brother's best friend) who's just come back from working in the States for a couple years. After getting together and secretly dating, he doesn't stand for how she suffers from the stalking of her ex, nor does he approve of how her male superiors in her workplace treat her. Her parents don't approve of the relationship which causes additional problems.

Amazing show! Nicole Curtis is very inspiring!
6 November 2014
It is so refreshing to see a DIY show where respect is paid to old materials. Rather than sledgehammer perfectly good, well-made materials, Nicole takes the time and puts in the effort to breathe new life into old materials, restoring them to their former glory!

This show is particularly empowering for girls and young women to watch, because Nicole isn't afraid to do anything. She is a great role-model and I hope this show empowers more people to take the time to restore old materials. She respects the pieces for what they are, and with the extra elbow grease, proves that a well-taken care of home with its original charm can shine.

I really hope this show stays around for a long time: it's informative, entertaining, and inspiring!

Great premise, good show, blah title

Warning: Spoilers
So the Oak Island mystery finally got its own TV show: it's about time!

With all of the literature and accounts about the mystery of this island, I just wish they would have taken a slightly more scientific approach to building this show. The title alone makes some people to think it's one big joke. The "...legend says seven people must die..." bit is also kind of laughable, especially since they have a lot of real mysterious material to work with instead. They could bring in an audience outside of the conspiracy-loving type if they focused on the hard evidence, rather than continually bringing up the tragic deaths that have occurred on the island: with that many people having searched for something on the island over the years, it is not improbable that people would have died trying- this just doesn't seem like enough to be called a "curse."

Also, the natural sink hole theory definitely holds some weight. It's not surprising that they don't spend a lot of time on this, since it would take away from the "booby trap" theories they are partially building the show on. However, anyone who has researched the Oak Island happenings knows there is a lot more to wonder about, and something is definitely weird about this place.

When evaluating how many teams of people have searched on the island over the last couple hundred years, it seems like financial obstacles have primarily prevented people from making significant progress. Government regulations have/are also a preventing factor, and probably keep other people from bothering with it at all. These are the reasons that it seems likely there might still be something of significance buried on the island.

The hard evidence found on the island should be the main focus of the show. Evidence found that has pre-dated that 1795 "money pit" discovery should be focused on, as that proves that people were there earlier (whether they were the ones burying something or just looking for something).

The show is very slow-paced, which is kind of a drag, but the basic premise of the show is enough to keep me around. I really want them to find something bigger than that old Spanish coin they've found, so I will keep watching until they do.

Flip or Flop (2013–2022)

I really like this couple...
5 November 2014
This show is really fun to watch because the transformations are incredible. If you are interested in knowing home values around Los Angeles/Orange County, then you will especially want to catch this one. Sure, regular folks probably couldn't accomplish these jobs with the same budget and time line, but these two are professional flippers, so it is completely believable that they would have all of the hook-ups.

I think my favorite part is that they do top quality work! They also have a pretty good grasp on design- by the time they sell the house, it is left more functional than it was to begin with. It's also pretty cool to see how they work with the same contractors on all of their jobs. Seeing the exact costs of every aspect of the job is also useful info.

It's nice that they show what they initially purchased the home for, what city/neighborhood it is located in, how much they sell it for, and their end profit.

So I guess my only qualm with the show is that I have never actually seen them do a "flop," and although I guess that's a good thing, the show might as well be called "Flip or Flip."

Overall, I really like this couple and I hope this show stays around for a long time!
