Supernatural (2005)
Well, it started out good.
Okay so I've been keeping up with show since day one and I've really enjoyed. It was a refreshing change of pace and it was different than other shows that i have been watching. But as the show reaches its ninth season, i find myself not caring anymore. The show has been following the same pattern for nine seasons now, Kill random creatures, one world ending problem arises, work on world ending problem for a while, fix world ending problem, back to killing things. And as for the acting and the characters, they were okay at first but now they're getting old. And the show doesn't really do well with character development either, i mean the writers come up with some great character altering material, they change the character for a few episodes, then he's back to the way he was. Overall the show has just gotten stale and in my opinion it needs to end. However based on the first few seasons i gave this show a 7-10.
Workaholics (2011)
Its funny but...
Alright so this show is hysterical I'm not here to deny that but sometimes and don't take this the wrong way but it kind of gets annoying to watch.I say this because sometimes the characters get so unbelievably stupid that its hard to watch. Now sometimes this stupidity can be pulled off like in "Its Always Sunny In Philadelphia" they seem to pull of stupidity with a charm that keeps me watching. But i just feel like the way that this show is written and the way that the characters behave just makes this stupidity come off as annoying and hard to watch. I love the actors but i don't know sometimes they just make me not want to watch the show by the way that they act but that is the only real flaw that i can find with this incredibly funny show. That's why i gave it a 7-10.
Now You See Me (2013)
Definitely wasn't what i was expecting
The most I can say about Now You See Me is that it was okay. I don't think that it was spectacular like many critics are saying. Now don't get me wrong, this movie had one of the most interesting ideas I've seen in a while. The idea of magicians using their act as a front to rob banks and give some money back to the little guy was what drew me into this movie in the first place. But once you're sitting there watching its just kinda like "eh". I don't mean to sound snobby, I just think that maybe the movie talked itself up to much and it suffered because of it. For one thing the movie moves really fast for itself. By this i mean that once the horseman acquire their act in Vegas and Mark Ruffalo is called in to catch them after the bank robbery it just feels like i'm already in the middle of the movie. As the movie progresses it eventually catches up with itself, but regrettably this made it hard to watch. Also i felt like the protagonists didn't get enough screen time, I get that if we saw too much of the 4 horsemen it would have given away the secrets to their tricks and such thus sort of ruining the twists at the end but i felt like they could have given them a few more scenes that didn't exactly inform the plot but kind of provided some fan service. I think the thing that baffled me the most though was how supernatural the film got. I was expecting the usual magician tricks or y'know things that seemed a bit believable. But after the scene with the curtains and Isla Fisher floating in a giant bubble, all preconceived notions of reality sort of went out the window. So in conclusion i give "Now You See Me" a 6-10 it was so-so.
Sons of Anarchy (2008)
A pleasant surprise
To be quite frank when I had first seen the coming attractions for FX's new bad-ass biker T.V show the only thought that popped into my head was "Great, another *BANG BANG* exploding gang violence drama". And from what I could gather, that was a pretty popular consensus. But i decided to give "Sons Of Anarchy" the benefit of the doubt and watch the pilot. And let me tell you, Kurt Sutter slapped my previous opinion right in the face. Each member of the club has his/her own unique, individual personality. Like for example, Clay Morrow president of the club, first nine and revered as the foremost authority on all club and domestic matters. Or Alex "Tig" trigger the Sgt. At Arms; Clay's right hand man and a violent and horny sadistic animal with a passion for bedding whores and biting off chunks of peoples ears. And then there is the main protagonist, Jackson Teller the young Vice President whose deeply conflicted on the matter of where this club is and where its going. So while the action can be somewhat repetitive and the show can often become predictable. I find myself coming back week after week to see these characters that i have an inexplicable connection to.
