Masters of Horror: Imprint (2006)
This Movie made me respect the Series
I saw this movie a few months ago, and it was the second one in the series of M.o.H. that I have had the pleasure to see. The first one I saw was Chocolate and Incident on and off a mountain road. Incident was good, but Imprint was great as far as Horror goes. Since it was banned from t.v. at the time, of its release, this is the type of movie that should have been released with the After Dark film festival back in November. The movies from the after dark series are good movies, they just don't strike me as films that were too graphic to show. Imprint, made me think about just how suttle a lot of American films are especially in comparison to Japan's films. My wife hide her eyes for the entire movie once the graphic scenes began.
Trespassers (2006)
NOT Like DAWN OF THE DEAD or Shaun of the Dead
This movie on the back says that it is in vein of Dawn of the dead and Shaun of the Dead. Somebody lied!! This movie is completely opposite. The only good thing about this movie is that the girls in it looked good. The rest had really nothing to do with zombies. Do Not rent even if your bored. Stay Bored, go play with yourself or something, anything would be better than this crap. Now I will say this; the weird guy with the camera, i think his name was lucky, got to see the girl topless and then recorded it on the camera. Whats funny though is the fact that 5 seconds later we see him sitting on a rock by himself playing a challenging game of pocket pool, but before he can finish flogging the dolphin he gets scared and runs away. Even though this is sick it just shows that if this was the best part of the movie imagine what the rest of the movie is like.
The Dawn (2006)
Lets not complain
If you are like me, you have bee to Blockbuster or any other video rental and have seen movies such as this on the shelf numerous times. These movies are terrible, but we keep renting 'no name' horror movies for whatever our own reasons maybe. My own reason for renting these types of movies, is hoping that maybe there will be one movie in the mix that will surprise me and actually be decent. To my surprise and liking I find a gem every now and then. This was not one of those times. Do I blame the makers of these films? No i do not, nor do I think anyone else should blame them for us spending our money. These films have very small budgets ,I would imagine. So lets not be so judge mental on these guys that don't have 30,50,or $100 million dollar budgets; instead lets hope that one day these guys will be somebody and be able to make good movies. I'm sure these filmmakers don't want to make bad moves but they don't have the money to make what they would like. Thank You
