A C-movie that looks like another Die Hard clone.
15 February 2024
Oh come on. Yes, it's a nice B or C movie but, it's always the same. McNamara is beautiful and can kick some butt, but she can't act. Just like A. M. Hall. I can't forget his iconic role in Weird Science, but in this movie and the older Halloween vehicle....... No, with a capital N. I have nothing else to write about this flop, but if you want to see this only for Katherine McNamara....go ahead. But don't let me say "I told you so". Serbedzija is not even convincing for a badguy, so i'm not going to see this 'movie' again in my life. I rather see an episode of Arrow or Shadowhunters then sit for almost an hour and a half to see this vehicle again. Maybe better next time. There are B movies wich are 5 times better then this. Only at the end there was a bit of a surprise with cameramoves and almost a good fight. But then again, it's just like Rambo........she'll never gets hurt. Only a little bit.

For me this movie is just like another Die Hard clone.

Have a good one.

An incredibly tasty and spicy dish! I advise you to try

First of all, excuse my poor english because i am dutch.

That's why I love South Korean cinema, because of its unusualness, originality, as well as eastern philosophy. More and more South Korean films go global, crowding Hollywood and confidently gaining their place in the sun. This is due to the very talented directors who seek and find their own, new solutions in the plot monotony, which have already become traditional in the cinema, while preserving their own uniqueness. For me, one more discovery in the world of cinema and South Korean cinema was this film from looking at the filmography of which I was, frankly, amazed. Of course, it is impossible to show all this horror bloodlessly and "without corpses" - a film without this would hardly have turned out to be so realistic. I myself sometimes felt disgust from the savage scenes of cruelty in excessively bloody cinema, which literally teem with many Western films, but here not only this feeling does not arise, I will say more - not even a hint of it, there is only a feeling of wild primitive fear.... and incredible experience for the main characters. And the merit of this is a beautiful, simply amazing, camera work, mesmerizing choreography of fights with the technique of fighting and staging fights, the unique style itself, characteristic of South Korean national color. And most importantly, it's much stronger and deeper than that, which touches the heart and soul for the "living" - this is the drama that lies in the center of the plot. The drama of two loneliness - an adult man and a little girl, who were no one needed in this huge and cruel world. The original name of the movie is "Uncle . " That is how the girl Soma ( Kim Se Ron ) spoke to the main character, Cha Tai Shiku ( Won Bin ), who once, on the street, not far from the school, becomes an occasional witness to a brawl, the main participant of which was a thief-Sone, detained by police. To the question "Who are your parents?" the girl, seeing Chai Tai Shik frozen nearby, points to him. But he, watching everything that happens, prefers to escape from the scene. A com comes up to the throat when you hear this from a young child, who had matured so early, who was able to see in an adult man, for his impenetrable armor, the spark of humanity that had not yet gone out .. After these words, something quaked in the soul of "uncle", something touched and penetrated into his heart, already petrified .. When, on that day, a girl is abducted in front of his eyes, he keenly understands how close he was to this little man, no one needed him, like him, this only connection with the world .. And he will do anything, even in ne lo to the devil himself, if only to save the child.

Acting?.... What can I say, the magnificent acting duo of Won Bin and Kim Sae Ron , an incomparable game! Won Bin , an actor with a bright and memorable appearance, a very popular artist in Korea, who won great sympathy among our viewers for the films: "38th parallel", "Mother", "My brother", the series "Autumn in my heart ", you never cease to admire: the amazing technique of mastering combat and weapons, due to which the scenes look bright, realistic, spectacular, but what's there - it's just cool! The scene with a cold muzzle at the temple and with tears rolling from his eyes is amazing to the core .. The film is simply amazing, it leaves a strong impression after viewing. And despite his cruelty, he is very beautiful and looks easy!

An amazing combination of genres: a hard dramatic thriller and a realistic, dynamic action, with excellent visual entertainment and content of deep meaning - all this was presented by director Lee Jung Bom in the film "Man from Nowhere," which became a hit in his own country in 2010, dissected and exposed the problems of society, showed at the same time how strong feelings are.

To some, the plot may seem similar to"Leon" from Luke Besson. I assure you, this is just a canvas. "Ajeossi" is much deeper, more meaningful, taking alive with his sincerity and touching relations of the main characters. This film is not a stereotype, it is a masterpiece!

Watch it or not - everyone makes a choice for himself. Personally, after watching, I wanted to open the world of Asian cinema, to be surprised, to admire him further. Believe me - it's worth it.

La La Land (2016)

Maybe 3 or 4 Oscars that's about it.
26 February 2017
I saw La La Land, but it's not even worth 14 nominations. I liked the story, but i've seen a story like this multiple times. The actors were good, but not Oscar-worthy to me. It's just a simple musical with some nice songs but that's about it. It's a great movie, but only for commercial properties. 3, maybe 4 Oscars.................that's about it. If Grease was made in this period, and la la Land in 1978, Grease should have 14 nominations, now that's one hell of a musical....and timeless.
