Blonde (2022)
Boring and pointless
The worst movie I've seen all year... If you can call it a movie. It's just pieces of thoughts put together by some drunk dude who actually was paid for it.
This probably was intended to be a series and got lazy to shoot more or cut more in the editing room. Just random scenes and nothing connects with anything.
Ana de Armas is lovely and she is beautiful but her acting is totally interrupted by some delusional moron while editing this. It's just scraps of a story.
Nothing has to be connected but at least a story line should be implemented. I feel sorry for Marilyn Monroe's memory as she is portrayed as a whore.
The Most Hated Man on the Internet (2022)
Spoiler! Spoilers alert
It's a nice docu-series. I love the narrative and the way the story is told but I personally don't like that the show is about Kayla's mother. She is portrayed as the superhero but she is as obsessive as Hunter when it comes to arguing.
Nice to watch, would not recommend it to any of my friends.
Sherpas - Die wahren Helden am Everest (2009)
Misleading at least in one way.
In the documentary Ang Dorje Sherpa was married and living happly in 2008 when he made his 14th ascent. This is not true, according to Wikipedia: "After meeting American computational linguist Michelle Gregory at the southern Everest Base Camp, in 2002 he immigrated to the United States"
Bloodshot (2020)
I wont dwell on this...
It's easly the worst movie I've seen. Much respect to all the cast and crew that worked on this. But.... If it gets erased from history, I wouldn't mind.
Money Monster (2016)
Why?
I cant go over it.... It's just the worst movie I have ever seen in my life.
Mr. Robot: eps2.9_pyth0n-pt1.p7z (2016)
Mr. Robot finally became boring
I've been a fan of the show since it started and recommended to everyone as THE best show of all time, but personally I think Sam Esmail run out of ideas and has been watching Black Mirror too much. I'm 30 minutes into this episode and I'm annoyed by how the episode keeps running with side stories leaving Elliot aside. I watch the show to see Mr Robot, not a messy FBI agent talking to her Alexa about love. The conversation between WhiteRose and Amanda is totally pointless. I sure can come out with a billion more creative ideas of how to mess up with a viewer mind instead of the whole locked in a door with a Commodore.
The Player (2015)
Brilliant
Probably spoilers.
I though that Philip Winchester was an actual soldier. I came to watch The Player following his career and I really hope he gets more recognition. The series do not disappoint. Its like a good book... I cant stop watching it.
The show starts with "silly" idea of what is all about, but they sell it to you as "silly" as well. Totally bought it. A few other stories/movies/TV shows, talk about rich people's weird gambling habits. It has a brilliant kind of dark humor to it. Wesley Snipe's is fun and scary at the same time.
It's sad that this show doesn't have more recognition. It has a great punch of action and GREAT acting by Winchester (who I though was British)
Vinyl (2016)
I rather put on a YouTube playlist than watch this.
Im not going to go into details with this. It simply doesn't deserve the time. I'm writing this for the people who come here looking for opinions.
*posible spoilers*
Since the beginning of the show, all scenes are all mixed up with complete songs of 70's bands. After a few minutes into the first episode I found myself fastforwarding the "music clips". Is more like a musical than a TV show. The characters are poorly developed and in one scene you are nearly understanding the change from scenario to a jump back into a music video/show. It seems like it has been done within a really short amount of time and the final cuts were just thrown in there.
It's great if you are looking to expand your 70's music knowledge. The half of the "show's lines" are characters reciting names of bands and singers from that period of time.
Not worthy of watching.
Firefly (2002)
Great show... Not time wasted at all
SPOILERS:
Well, I've known about this show for about 4 or 5 years but never found the moment to watch it. Maybe it didn't cached my attention because all the cast is in some way unfamiliar to me. I knew the show had great reviews and the other day watching a video about inaccuracies in films, they pointed out the great things about Firefly is that the space scenes where complete in silence... as it should be. So I gave it a go. Full equipped for a marathon, the first thing that got my attention was that all the good guys, doctors, army or pilots where white folks and oddly, all the mercenaries, thief, crooks where from other ethnic groups. And the game changer here was that they where cursing in Chinese but there is no Chinese or Asians to be found, until episode 13 "Heart of Gold" where suddenly and finally an Asian character made it to the show... as a prostitute.
Despite this, I enjoyed the show very, very much. I thing Mal (Nathan Fillion) at the beginning was a little on the comedy side but then the show has great turns and all the characters have a story and at some point during all the show, you eventually found out how they turn into who they are. All but one... Shepard Book's story is still a mystery, and after watching the film "Serenity" It is certain that they will not tell anything about this kind of mysterious character. Maybe is because he is African-American the writer wasn't comfortable about telling more about this. What the writer maybe found enjoyable was to introduce another black guy, of course, bounty hunter... and a rapist.
Really nice show if you put aside all this and just focus on the Serenity crew's adventures. Great fun if you end it by watching the movie too.
True Detective (2014)
Having a hard time
SPOILER ALERT!
I'm in the middle of second season. Currently watching episode 5. I love the storyline and the characters so much I'm having a hard time choosing in my mind if the first story (season one) was better than this... or the other way around.
Rachel McAdams is brilliant. Her role of a detective with a kind of unhappy childhood is mesmerizing. Collin Farrel is always a solid actor and the performance he delivers so far I've seen. is truly the behaviour of a bad boy/right and moral human with a tendency of over reacting to every day life situations. He's the "hero" so far in my personal opinion.
Having said that. I have to give my thumb down to the character of Vince Vaughn. I don't know if I have to laugh or feel angry about his struggled character. He doesn't match up the gangster profile at all. The fight scene is like watching fake wresting done by amateurs. I'm not pleased with him at this point.
I have to honest. I'm hooked to this second season, but at this point... I could easily stop watching it and start season one all over again without regrets. Vince does not fill the spot as needed.
The Knick (2014)
Best soundtrack ever!
The first episode captivated me. The contrast between the dating of the scenes and the music is oddly brilliant and gives the show a dramatic feeling all the way through.
SPOILER:
Doctor's Thackery brilliance is mastered by Owen who portrayed the downhill of his addiction since the first episode. How he manages to stay fully functional through all procedures and adding his ice melting sense of humor is rather addictive. The way that the writers didn't focused on emphasizing from the beginning that Thackery was a genius but instead of showing the audience step by step all the achievements the respected doctor will reveal is just magical.
All of the characters are extremely well though and none of the side stories are boring or randomly placed, it all adds up to a fully addictive TV series.
Love the show, I watched the first season two times in a row. Just cant stop watching it. The sound track by Cliff Martinez y more that just music. Is a journey through the time. A really mystic and futuristic touch that blends perfectly into this show. Absolutely gorgeous.
