Gets better as it goes along
28 November 2021
At first I was turned off by the WB type of show vibe it made me think of but the characters are getting more defined and the story more interesting with each episode. I'm at episode 4 and starting to really get into it. I'm giving it a chance so next season they can improve further. I never read the books so I'm only going with the series itself.

What would you do?
5 July 2021
This movie asks the right questions. What would you do if you could cross to alternate universes, do and take what you want and come back to yours without facing consequences, and also gaining from those cross-overs. A great little movie to watch with friends and have a deep conversation after. Amazing set up for those who love questions of ethics and morality.

Space Force (2020–2022)
6/10
Feels too safe for the subject matter
30 May 2020
Warning: Spoilers
What wasted potential, with the stellar cast and money involved! I do love Malkovich as the scientist. But I still don't know what the show is trying to be. And the Major's daughter comes off as a slob and a spoiled brat. Seriously, she can't clean after herself to the point bugs are crawling all over the kitchen? And he doesn't say a thing about it?

Some songs sung like The Beach Boys' Kokomo. What was the point? Ok, he's dreaming of a vacation? That's it? No pay off for having to listen to the whole song. Some funny moments but too few and far in between. Too timid of a show concerning the president. As if the writers are too afraid of backlash yet the show obviously is critical of the idea of a space force which is just as ridiculous in real life.

The whole chimp story about having to fix the spacecraft was so out there and dragged on for way too long.

Would give it a try for a second season but it needs to find its footing. Some awkward storytelling too. We don't know what his wife did to end up in prison. And her role doesn't make you want to know why, she's barely in the show.

Amazing storytelling

Warning: Spoilers
Captivating from beginning to end. A simple story of time travel and love but complex enough to keep you wanting more. I thoroughly enjoyed it! Can't wait for the second episode.

Ok but I was expecting something less biased
18 December 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Though those dying people's comments on how they see life is always worth listening to, I can't help but feel the bias of the filmmakers. First in who they chose as participants, and in what specific faith they ALL belong to. Everyone is white, Christian and has kids/grandkids. You're led to believe that if you don't have kids or do not follow the Christian faith you are destined to not live a fulfilling life or have a worthy end of life. I would have liked to see more diversity in beliefs (or non beliefs) and different backgrounds like races. Right now it feels too propagandist from a religious Christian stand point.

I wanted to like it.
21 July 2019
It had all the ingredients I look for in a series that's going to fascinate me; paranormal-check, fairy tale vibe-check, Quinto-check. Oh but the execution...I didn't read the book and gave this series 5 episodes until I got so bored with it I gave up. Typical boring angsty teen-check, lack of atmosphere-check, boring dragging on plot-check. Checked out. So sad because it could have been great. I hear the lead should have been younger. Why oh why did they change that?

Bad science and cardboard-cut characters.
8 May 2019
Apparently the filmmakers, and the novel the film is based on, don't know there can't be planet gravity without rotation. Discarding the fact it would take an unimaginable amount of power to push a planet off orbit, even more to power it across vast distances, and there would be no way the planet kept its atmosphere for it to snow. Let's take off our thinking head and say the planet is able to to be pushed across distances, what of the characters? Why are they so meh? I feel like this movie tried to be the standard epic American disaster movie - from 20 years ago, with all the bad science, cliches and lack of character development. Where audiences here are moving toward trying to get away from too much CGI in favor of character development, this Chinese movie hasn't got the memo yet. But it is a blockbuster. If I were Chinese I'd be proud of it. But I'm not and from the perspective of someone who's viewed countless disaster movies over the years and enjoyed some, I rated it only 2. The reason of my low rating is this: the basic science of a science fiction story needs to be believable, even if out there in every other respect, and this movie fails 5th grade.

WTF Netflix!
28 April 2019
So mad they cancelled this excellent comedy. The actors were so charming and funny, especially Oliphant! He cracked me up every time I saw his tense smiling face! The concept was fresh and I love zombie flicks. Rare a comedy makes me laugh out loud so often, and guaranteed in each episode. So bummed. I want it back already. Bring it back!

Make Norhein Great Again!
30 September 2018
Warning: Spoilers
This was a second season spoiler, sort of, maybe.... probably, but hm, I don't usually write reviews, you see. I would have cared more if I were a seasoned writer of words from Rome but I am just a common reviewer, peasant folk. I'm told I should stop. By Loki! The gods are angry. They want you to binge watch this series. To find it you should follow the sun, always go south.
