It moved me

I have only one thing to say.

The scene where the substitude teacher Wei begged the lost boy to come back on the television program made me emotional.

When a movie can do that to people it deserves 10 stars.

Anti climax

I was intrigued by this movie almost all the way to the end. I wanted to find out what happened in the past of the main characters Georges and Majid. Obviously it is not something nice but what exactly is not explained. We see Georges hiding something from his past from his wife, he has a dream about something that happened when he was six years old that involves cutting off the head of a chicken or rooster. In this dream we also see Majid attacking Georges with the very same axe he killed the chicken with probably. I assume that was the reason Majid was removed from his guest family but it isn't clear enough for me because all you see is that dream, and a boy with a mouth and face full of blood (did he maybe try to eat Georges at that time or the chicken?) and a boy been put in a car screaming he doesn't want to go. Later on we are led to believe the son of Majid set this all up to avenge his father's bad childhood? What was he thinking if that's the case? All he accomplished was his father's suicide and an unsolved case of circumstances that led to his father's suicide because of something terrible that happened to his father that is not clear to the viewer of this movie. And what was this subplot about Pierre? Was he a lover of Anne or not? Did the son of Majib know about that and tell Pierrot to further terrorize Georges? Obviously he had contact with Pierrot because you see him talking with him in the last scene but we are not told what they are talking about, what their relationship is and how it all fits in the plot anyway. The director wants us to make our own solution (i watched the interview with him) but in the film he gives us in my opinion too less information to play with anyway. There is a link to 200 Algerians being killed in some unfair way, but sorry director, it doesn't seem to me you point out this incident very good to me in relation to this story you told.

I give this a 5 because it was a good movie concerning building up suspense but in the end, i'm sorry but it just doesn't add up, no story should be told in a vague way like this. Escpecialy when it concerns such things like forgotten scandals like these 200 Algerians.

I'm off looking for more information about that but not about this movie because it is too vague for me.
