2001 Maniacs (2005)
A whole lot of fun!
Just saw 2001 Maniacs and man I got to say it was a hoot from start to finish, Robert Englund was a joy to watch as the mayor and dair I say it, his best performance since Freddy! You can tell he loved working on the movie and it shows through his acting! The attractive young cast of new comers were at the top of there game, I see big things for them. Jay Gillespie especially gave a wonderful performance. Now onto the juicy bits, the film is filled with great gore and special effects! I wont spoil the kills but there something involving ropes and horses which must be seen to believe, a nice large bell that falls down with some juicy results and many more things. Also the T&A factor is very good, lots of hot naked ladies.
What more could you want from this film? Great plot, stylish directing (Ritter you rock)! great score, great acting, fx, sound designed. The film has it all, buy it don't rent it! 10 out of 10 one of the best times I've had with a horror film in years!!!
Saw II (2005)
Better then the first!
Alright I loved Saw, it was a nifty little flick, packed a punch, had some juicy bits and was well acted. Well I can tell you SAW II is mind blowing and thats coming from a kid who is as jaded as they come. The acting is excellent, the gore is plenty. Tobin Bell has tons of screen time. The pacing is out of sight. The end is wonderful and leaves a nice opening to the third film. Now the plot itself is well handled, the characters are a bit cookie cutter but I can forgive, the suspense is wound so tight it'll make you flinch. The direction is much much better then the first. All those jump cuts and crash-bang-zoom shots are gone, some rapid editing comes in place in a scene or two but nothing to complain about. So check this out, you'll love it!

Shadowhunters (2004)
Excellent
Awesome! Those were the first words I uttered after having the pleasure of watching John Johnson's Shadowhunters. It brings back the good old days of trench coat wearing, gun slinging demon hunters. And a good sense of old fashion pulpy horror. I'm not sure the budget on the flick but for a LB production, it spouted a excellent look and direction by Mr. Johnson. The actors are great to along with the FX. Absolutely check this soon to be cult classic out, brain-damage films did a nice job with the DVD to boot. A+ Trench coats, guns, nudity... hell yeah!! I look forward to what Johnson will bring to us in future years, stay tuned kiddies.
