Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (2019)
Don't believe the hate, decide you must for yourselves.
The haters have already had their say. Surprise surprise, such sad negativity. The force is weak with them.
NOW
JJ Abrams has done a cracking job here. You will surely smile, be sad be in tune with many emotions. I adore Star Wars, I'm happy to admit this. I accept it's flawed in many areas, and every film.
I would say be open in what you're about to see. Take this for what it is just over two hours of a galaxy far far away.
My message to the haters. You have my sorrow for your lack of perspective. Think about what you post. Spoilers show that you're selfish and a bit pathetic. Let people decide for themselves. Not a single one of you could have done a better job than JJ and his team, of this I am sure.
Primeval: New World (2012)
Primeval returns with a Big Bang, despite certain reviews.
Please give this show a chance, a lot of the reviews to date are overly judgmental and biased, unfairly in my eyes. Do not dismiss this because it is a one of those shows which will grow on you, and the ending to this series is sensational, and very unexpected. The production team and values are the same as the original, which is brilliant. They have managed to maintain the spirit of the original version, and make the series equally as good as the British show. I speak as a humble Brit too. The characters are rounded and well acted. Clearly a lot of time and effort went into the values of maintaining the integrity of the original show, but also making it more grown up. Nice to see the series running longer too. A lucky 13 episodes in this series which I hope will lead to another series or five.
Breaking In (2011)
Breaking Good
Starts so well, the cast seem well balanced from the start. The first series by far one of the nerdiest geekfests I have seen for ages and I loved it.
If you like comedy that goes bang bang bang, this ones for you. So many references to sci fi done in so many really clever and obvious ways.
I must admit It took me a while to get to grips with series two. The new cast members and the dynamics they bring didn't quite work at first for me, but it does improve.Quite frankly the last episode had me in pain laughing so much I watched it again due to missing so much due to my own laughter.
I hope this helps. NB to fully appreciate this series you need to love purile, fun, comedy with loads of sci fi references. Being a bit nerdy might almost help, Enjoy!
Wonder Woman (2011)
Blunder Woman
Do not watch this if you have fond memories of the 70's series, it will negatively impact good memories. Quite frankly Lynda Carter gave such an elegant and poised performance this modern version lacks femininity when you naturally in your own head compare them. The language is also rather crude at times, which I found pointless as I felt they were trying to be risqué for the sake of it whilst aiming towards a family audience. The actress in my view lacks the kind of Amazonian presence that Lynda Carter gave us despite clearly being a good actress she also lumbers around the screen.
The supporting cast is not that exciting either, sadly You can see why this never made it beyond a pilot. The plot is very flimsy, for obvious reasons I do not want to spoil the "plot" for anyone, luckily that wont happen as no plot seems to exist.
I am now going to buy the 70's series to remind me of what was so special about wonder woman, in a male superhero dominated world, if a WW film is to be made please pick very carefully. Possibly Emma Stone, she has a presence which could match Lynda Carter.
