Psycho (1960)
A masterpiece
Hitchcock at his best! This must been one of the best suspense/thriller/ horror films i've seen. No other movie had the impact and the greatness of this. And the story behind the movie is really something, not only the book that inspired the movie but also the behind the scenes (i recommend that you take a look at the movie Hitchcock with Anthony Hopkins and Helen Mirren or read a little about it, it's very interesting). Perkins makes a terrific performance as Norman Bates (the best i've seen). Janet Leigh equally fantastic, and don't forget Vera Miles, John Gavin and the detective Arbogast (Martin Balsam) who made also a great job. Overall the movie is really something, timeless and so much better than the remakes and sequels. It's a pioneer of horror, if you are a fan of the genre or not you'll get it. Psycho is a must see for all movie lovers out there. Splendid.
