Do People Know What a Review Is?
28 April 2019
When you see a "10" for this movie, you know there's a lot of blind love there. On the other hand, a "1" is blind hate.

A "10" would mean the movie is perfect, which is not - those guys should see a movie without emotion.

A "1" means the movie lacks even the very basic production, which it does not - those guys should check on IMDb the lowest rated movies ever - and watch them - to know what a really bad movie really means.

The movie fits the bill for the ones expecting the expectable - my case, by the way. I have seen really bad movies, and this is not the case. I've also seen very good movies, and this got close, but not that much.

I Liked It
17 December 2018
It's a nice road movie, where the characters don't need to talk much about their past for you to have a perfect idea of their needs and despair. It's also beautiful both in scenery and feelings. Maybe its critics wanted it to be deep enough to drown the viewers in its first 5 minutes or so - it's the only explanation I have for the unjustified low rates.

Very, very nice action movie.
8 October 2018
It has everything you would want if you enjoy action, great fight scenes, car chasings, shots. And the script is something apart, for it tells us a story on how black op teams operate and the onus of their line of work.

I highly recommend it.

Have People Actually Seen a 0 to 5 Rated Movie?
18 September 2018
I have, unfortunately, and there's nothing there: no script, photography, acting of any kind, production value... A void you can barely watch, if you can at all. (I'm thinking about making a list with REAL 0 to 5 movies, just for fun)

Before giving a 0 to 5, people should consider the above. Afterwards, they go into liking it or not.

For me, in this case, "Hangman" lacks a little care for the script - it could've been so much better. The rest of technical aspects for me is OK, so I'll start with a 4.

Then we have Al Pacino, Karl Urban and some supporting actors that did a good job - but I was kind of frustrated, so 2.

There you are: my rating is 6.

You Know What, Let's Start With The 0 to 5
16 September 2018
Before rating a movie, you have to consider technical aspects - that means acting, photoghaphy, edition, and the sort, visual effects (if proceeds). Production, in general terms.

Before giving a 0 to 5, people should consider the above. Afterwards, they go into linking it or not.

The movie, for me, is a 5 in terms of technical aspects. I liked it, overall - it could've been better - so, plus 3.

5 + 3 = 8.

Trash So Trash (and not in the fancy sense)
14 September 2018
No nothing: no photography, no direction, no storyline, no acting, no production value.

It's a shame some users would think of giving this more than a small treat. If you think there's more to it, go watch it yourself.

What are people looking for?
7 April 2018
(As for the question above) I don't know, anyways...

A very honest movie, not pretentious or anything.

If you are looking for loads of laughs, you are in the wrong place. What you'll get here is the crossroads where you may find yourself or not - and sometimes, just like in the movie, that can be fun or not.

Great acting, photograph and everything that goes with a very decent production.

And why giving this movie a 1 rating, when a 1 rating doesn't have anything to do with the movie at all?

What I think?

Haters have finally found IMDb, and they don't know what they are hating about.

It is what it is, and it is nicely consistent
20 March 2018
I read the reviews, but first I need to say that this is not my kind of movie. I ended up seeing it out of edition work.

That being said, I found it quite nice and accommodating, for it is about old age and Christmas, and how things have a different feature when you know what is coming - fast in your case if you are at the end of your road. Great actors and actresses who are finally there - too old to rock'n'roll, too young to die - and that went on this movie for the pleasure of still be riding.

If you expected anything different or more of it, the problem is yours - either you're not seasoned yet to appreciate the irony or just too out of your métier.

Too Long and Too I Wish I Were
23 January 2018
It's not bad, it's beautiful, actually.

But the main problem is the wish to be something that's no longer available - the original movie at the time it came up.

Blade Runner, at the time it was first filmed, had a soul.

This new version, which is basically a follow-up, kills everything it was supposed to love, portraying what's no longer there, like a child's memory when revisited years after by the adult that saw it as a child.

Nothing Wrong With It, But Public Prejudice
23 May 2017
Warning: Spoilers
It's been harder and harder to know what Alien fans want these days. One might think that most of them want to be mesmerized as they were in 1979 with the unbeatable "Alien", unaware that the times were different then, the element of surprise is now lost and that its narrative formula might be seen as too slow nowadays. On the other hand, there is a public that is still mourning for Ripley e her surviving companions from "Aliens", dreaming of a nonsensical "Alien 5" to have their revenge against "Alien 3". And, of course, "Prometheus" fans, who wish to see Shaw and David meet their creators.

The point is "Alien: Covenant" is a good, thrilling film, beautifully filmed, whose characters are captivating and are solemnly missed no matter the screen time they end up having. The bugs, either the traditional xeno or the new introduced neo – and the way they come to life – show how much Sir Ridley is still able to give birth to his creations. I, for one, love his vision, even when less inspired (which is not the case in "Covenant", plenty of energy and purpose).

And, then, the androids, the horrifying absence of what makes us human, and the possibility that this same absence might lead them to what "real people" have as the worst in their natures.

"Covenant" could be better? Of course. It's still a must see though, and aside popcorn and soft drinks, the public should keep fresh eyes to enjoy it as it was meant to be.

I really liked it
16 December 2016
I see why many people disliked it, for it's unbearable for some to watch a movie that attaches weird super powers, and so much emotion, to a dead body. It would be better, in this case and for those, to watch some Marvell or DC comic book based film, when everything is possible without being uncomfortable to our human accepted patterns.

For those who have an open mind and are tired of fantasy the way it's been shown, it is definitely a good choice for a change. And far more intriguing.

You might feel shocked, you might feel astonished, but bear in mind you have two great actors that do their best without even blinking. They bought it, and so did I.

Elysium (I) (2013)
10/10
We have an Earth spoiled buy some guys, and some of us did something about it. There comes a problem, as we all know it.
10 March 2014
It does have something to be questioned about. But then again... It's SCFI... "Pacific Rim"... kind of basic. I don't thing we need more applause. What we do need is to be asked. And at least "Elysium" does that. Are you guys willing to be pupped? Are you actually in need to be reaffirmed? That's not my problem, and, then, it does make it your problem, not mine... Ten lines, great. Let's go for it. Although I am Brazilian, it is not about region, it is about an idea. I would question "Elysium", but I will not. In the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make. "Elysium" is a winner in this quest! If you are to watch "Pacific Rim", go for "Elysium". For us, SCFI's orphan's, is far better enough.
