Oppenheimer (I) (2023)
9/10
A truly haunting tale of the American Prometheus
22 July 2023
Oppenheimer, a breathtaking three-hour marvel, undoubtedly represents Christopher Nolan's magnum opus as a director. Throughout the film, the audience is seamlessly drawn into the protagonist's journey, becoming emotionally invested in every decision he makes. Divided into three major set pieces, the narrative gracefully unfolds, chronicling his ascent, the arduous path to achieving the unimaginable and earning the mantle of an American hero, and finally, confronting the impact of his legacy as history smirks on.

The cast's performances are exceptional, each actor embodying their roles with poise and excellence, making it hard to distinguish them from their on-screen personas. However, it is Cilian Murphy's portrayal of Oppenheimer that adds an extraordinary layer to the story. His compelling performance captures the essence of the character, allowing the audience to feel the struggles and downfall of this enigmatic figure.

Nolan's storytelling prowess shines throughout, guiding viewers on an unforgettable cinematic journey, leaving a profound impact. Oppenheimer is not merely a film; it's an immersive experience that lingers in the minds and hearts of its audience long after the credits roll. A testament to exceptional storytelling and outstanding acting, Oppenheimer cements its place as a cinematic triumph and a remarkable addition to Christopher Nolan's illustrious filmography.

The Last of Us (2023– )
10/10
Another HBO masterpiece, 2023 will be the year of "Last of Us"
16 January 2023
When two mammoth creators like Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann collaborate to make a series based on a global phenomenon of a game, viewers get a late Christmas gift like "The Last of Us".

This series is what the Witchers fans know they deserved, and the Cyberpunk fans knew they needed (Edgerunners).

Kudos to the casting director for taking Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsay in this project. Although I loved Bella in her portrayal as lady Lyanna in Game of Thrones, I didn't know if she could take on this role beloved by millions of gamers. Who knew that she would be the perfect choice for this role! Never doubted Pedro, and never will. He is a chameleon with the most captivating presence on screen, unlike any actor I have seen.

I can already anticipate millions of copies getting sold once it releases for PC in March, 2023.

Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War: The Fire (2022)
Season 1, Episode 6

The best episode of this shonen series till date
15 November 2022
Bleach Thousand year blood war, episode 6 is in my opinion the best episode this shonen has ever produced till date, period.

Some of us who have read the manga knows whats coming, but this episode was on an entire different level. From the second the episode started till the end, my eyes were glued to the screen. The artwork and animation is the best this anime has seen since it's inception, it was quite evident that the studio has put its utmost attention to make this episode. All those years of waiting for the manga to be animated was worthwhile.

I just hope. Studio Pierrot animates not just this arc, but No breathes from hell arc too.

A garbage filled with synthetic jingoism and terrible screenplay
5 December 2021
To think about it, Rohit Shetty's Singham was successful only because it followed the same recipe of tamil Singham, which had a great screenplay, and a great Villain, Jaikanth Shikre.

Simmba was just meh, had zero fun watching it.

Now this one, pure torture. A disservice to the audience. Not a single joke connects, utter cringe fest. The beginning of the story was convincing, with the villains having true motive. From that, absurd Bollywood logic began to work it's magic in the movie.

And the nationalism and secularism so badly forced in the movie, I felt like puking. What utter garbage.

Dark (2017–2020)

People may find it unusual, but my feelings from watching Dark and Attack on Titan are almost the same
28 June 2020
People may find it unusual, but my feelings from watching Dark and Attack on Titan are almost the same (I know the stories are vastly different from one another)

First seasons of both series were gripping from the very first episode. On one side, Dark gave us a fresh look at the age-old question, what can happen if time travel was possible; AOT with its stunning visuals and animation gave us a fresh outlook on the mythical story of David vs Goliath, humans vs Giants. Both seasons were like a roller coaster ride with unexpected endings, leaving us with more questions than answers.

With season 2 and 3 of both the series, we get to experience the layers of stories piling onto one another while happening concurrently. Viewers are given the opportunity to crack the enigmas, but as we keep peeling the layers to reach the center, we get the feeling of duality, it makes complete sense but none of it makes any sense.

By the time you reach near the center, you realize how human emotions are at the core of these storylines. You also realize how humans are bound by "fate" to repeat the same things and reproduce the same mistakes, which then has to be carried by the next generation or iteration. You feel that there's no escaping from this infinite cycle of tragedy and misery.

The Season finale of Dark gives viewers the ending we never expected but deserved nonetheless. We realize that a system in perfect equilibrium will always find its way to balance itself unless intervened by an external force. It answers all our questions (almost) but leaves us feeling more miserable than we were at the beginning.

The final season of AOT will be coming this year, and as I read the manga which is almost finished (just 3-4 chapters left to release) I realize how it will give us the ending no one ever expected but will make perfect sense in the end.

Another glorious entry into India's phenomenal series list

Excellent acting by all the cast members! Although the story seemed a bit convoluted in the beginning, as they began to peel off like an onion, it compelled to me binge watch it.

Did someone notice the editing mistake?!
28 November 2019
Right around 1:22:15 of the film "The Irishman," there is an editing mistake. It's right around the moment when a guy tried to shoot Jimmy Hoffa. The moment you see the mistake, you will not be able to unsee it.

However, hands down one of the best mob movies I have seen in my lifetime.

A disgrace of sequel it is!
18 January 2018
I've watched the the original "The Man from Earth" 7 years ago. Before watching "The Man From Earth: Holocene" I watched the original again just to make sure I fully understand the transition of the story. And now as I just finished watching the "sequel", I sit in front of my laptop, furiously disappointed.

It shouldn't even be called a sequel, it's just a dumbed-down cheap spinoff of the original one. Only David Lee Smith acted convincingly, all the other actors and actresses were totally expendable. And what's with this weird script! It felt like script writers wanted to write a story that would appeal to the younger generation. So they added these bunch annoying college students just to make sure the youngsters can relate to that. I watched the first movie with my friends when I was just 17 years old, and we grasped everything of that movie perfectly. The first movie felt like a revelation covered with pragmatic dialogues and scenarios. This one was an insult to the first one.

A joke of a rating it is!!
19 December 2017
Beauty and the beast? Justice League?? Alien: Covenant??? All three of these are mediocre at best. We had films like Dunkirk, Get Out, Lady Bird, Coco in 2017. We also have Phantom Thread which is one of the very best movies of this year. Even John Wick: Chapter 2 is better than those three movies.

Excellent Ending of the Cult Classic saga: "Baahubali"
29 April 2017
I was a bit skeptical when Baahubali: The Beginning came out. Not being an avid follower of Telugu movies, I didn't know much about any of the cast, let alone the director S.S. Rajamouli. But boy I was wrong, so wrong to have doubted the movie. I loved it and till now watched it more than 10 times.

It did tremendous in box office, but became a all-favorite cult classic during these last three years. Every single Indian film-lovers waited eagerly for this movie. So, naturally I had high hopes about The Conclusion. And I have to say, I loved every single frame of this movie. S.S. Rajamouli's direction was even better in this one, as everyone's eyes were glued to the screen in the theater.Laudable work done by the Editing Team, unlike Baahubali: The Beginning, The Conclusion didn't had a single redundant scene, every side plot had a reason to be in the screenplay. The songs were really mellifluous, and I bet it sounded better in Telugu than Hindi.

If you haven't seen it yet and thinking it's not worth of your time, it's okay. But don't make the mistake of thinking it's a typical Telugu movie. It's unlike anything you've seen before, a masterpiece. The Box Office will say the rest.

Mirza's Lady (2016)
4/10
Had a potential to be a Blockbuster hit, but poor acting and redundant scenes ultimately made it pale and pathetic
21 October 2016
Warning: Spoilers
I've given the movie a 4 just because it has Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's name in it. What I think the director wanted to do was to show two love stories, in two different timelines having the same consequences. It's not reincarnation of lovers movie like our favorite "Magadheera". And I watched the movie keeping that in mind, cause there's no way ROM sir will just rip of a storyline from another movie. Anyone who knows the legend of MIrza-Sahiban would say in hands of a great director, this story had the potential to become a blockbuster.

Harshvardhan Kapoor, bro you tried hard, but not too hard to act as a stable boy in this movie. With that accent and poker face, it's hard for anyone to connect with your character. Saiyami Kher, well I don't have much to say about her. These two can act in a movie depicting City life of Mumbai or Delhi, maybe Harsh acting as a struggling fashion model and Saiyami as one of the top models in the business and show their love story or such. Harsh is way too modern to look like a stable boy...
