The banter isn't working
5 July 2021
Americans do not banter back and forth in this manner. Horribly contrived dialog.

Good movie/production goofs
12 February 2021
Overall i was entertained, Harris is always great and Tyreese did well. Grillo always plays a good bad guy.

Some production issues that caught my eye early. Her partners truck keeps changing from brownish gray to white. One scene Grillo is driving straight down the road with the steering wheel turned 90 degrees to the right.

Orlando Bloom

Why? 1000's of other actors in the world to play that role and they pick one that has the worst American accent this side of Gerard Butler. It really take me out of his scenes. It really all over the place.

Otherwise this movie was a pleasant surprise.

So Awful you have to watch.

This entire "film" looks like reenactment clips from a TV crime doc.

Stranger Things with Robots
4 April 2019
Constant 10 seconds bits of 80's music. I lived through the 80's and this didn't remind me of the 80's or 90's at all. Wardrobe was anywhere between 1982 to 1992.

Cartoonishly simple CGI, voices sound like they were dubbed on a PC. I thought Bay was bad but he did have some cool action shots...this was straight Disney Channel production value. No grit at all.

Bottom line...you just cant Stranger Things every movie. It just ends up looking like a 2019 movie with 1980's sets and props.

Almost Lost Me, Not Netlfix Production
6 January 2019
I see a lot of reviews blaming Netflix for all quirkinesses of this show. Its not a Neflix show its a Canadian tv show edited for commercials. I watched the first episode thinking this is shot and arranged so strangely, seemed really choppy at times almost like an FX show...sure enough it is an FX Canada show.

Bad Blood is the opposite of most shows in that the first episode was terrible, and honestly if Netflix didnt start the next episode so fast I might not have ever watched it again.

What I appreciate about this show is that it keeps moving., it doesnt wonder around. Strangely outside if the first episode i dont feel like im being fed half a season of filler episodes.

I cant imagine having to watch this with commercials. It certainly doesn't transition well even on Netflix. You can tell exactly when a commercial was supposed to be inserted.

Not as bad as I expected
13 August 2018
The CGI was bad first and foremost. Not as bad as a SiFi network movie but close. I was fine with the predictability but the CGI was so surprisingly bad it was distracting. The movie was coasting along fine until the beach scene. It was boring and right out of Jaws.

Tom Cruise is great here

He takes a bunch of crap from the general public, but he is a very hard worker and rarely doesnt bring his A game. My biggest issue with the film is the filters used. It seems they were hiding cheap CGI at times.

Spoiler...

Fred Rogers is one of the best humans to ever walk this Earth. I'm as black hearted and cynical as anyone thats ever walked the Earth. Mr. Rogers always hits in the feels because he is the real deal. He wants nothing from you, only that you be understood and proud of yourself.

This doc is a love letter to Mr. Rogers so it is what you'd expect, no surprises, a few more interviews than I've seen in the past all arranged well.

Just Misses The Mark

I think in the end the CGI turned me off. Big CGI endings while are common are usually just too much. No complaints with the acting or directing, it has a Guy Richie slickness with it, rapid fire dialog, quick cuts etc which I tend to like, it shows chemistry.

That said I enjoy Fuqua's King Arthur better. it was more grit and makes Arthur less of a super hero.
