My Southern Family Christmas (2022)
Inaccurate
Ascension parish does not have bonfires on the levee on Christmas Eve. St. James Parish just east of Ascension Parish is where this tradition occurs every December 24th at 7pm. The Cajun village where this was filmed is maybe three miles from the parish line. I can't rate this any higher based on the inaccurate portrayal of our beautiful tradition. I appreciate that the movie doesn't portray Louisiana residents as uneducated, slow minded people. I also
Appreciate not having forced accents and dialect. The story line of uniting a child and parent is sweet. I just wish the geography was accurate. Overall a decent film but hard to fully enjoy watching.
NCIS: New Orleans: Matthew 5:9 (2019)
Well
I was heartbroken that LaSalle was killed off even though it was Lucas Black's decision to leave. I usually steer clear of any show or movie where my home state is the location. Mainly because it's been way overdone as a place of imbeciles who eat weird things and speak funny. At first the character of LaSalle irked me with that accent until I learned he was from Alabama both on and off script. He grew on me as did the series. Even without LaSalle the show was a favorite of mine and I'm still in disbelief that it was canceled. It was as true as possible when it comes to city corruption, voodoo and superstitions. Far fetched to most but pretty true.
NCIS: New Orleans: Monster (2018)
Percy is annoying
I always loved this character until these past few episodes. Her righteousness is embarrassing and condescending. Sutter is annoying as well. Other than this I liked this episode storyline.
NCIS: Hawai'i (2021)
Bring back NOLA
NCIS New Orleans was canceled for this garbage? It's boring, no cultural tie ins and bad acting.
Tiny Pretty Things (2020)
Hope to see a second season
Could do without some of the extreme sex scenes but overall I enjoyed season one. Have to see more!
NCIS: New Orleans (2014)
My favorite
I cannot believe this is being canceled. This is the only NCIS I watch and it's not only because I'm a Louisiana native. NCIS New Orleans is a gem compared to the other NCIS series. I sobbed with the death of LaSalle however there's still so much that can be done with this show.
Christmas in Evergreen (2017)
Adorable Christmas movie
This movie is so cute. Characters are realistic even though the story is based on a magical snow globe that grants Christmas wishes. Adore Ashley Williams in this movie. Before seeing this I only knew her as crazy Claire in "Something Borrowed".
