Disappointingly inaccurate

Good film, would have been an excellent film. However the shockingly re-writing of history and the glaring movement from fact to fiction rather took the edge off it for me.

Might as well have changed the character names as well. Should have had the disclaimer any resemblance to actual events and persons very slim.

At the end of the film you have the feeling that the film has been adapted to fulfil clichés. The computer is re named christopher and we are meant to think that this is representing Alan Turing lost love!

Why, oh why could it not have been closer to reality. At the end of the day it leaves you with the slight feeling that you have been conned.

Awful

This is a truly awful low budget b picture. It doesn't seem to work on any level, after a while I thought was it suppose to be funny.

A lot of the characters come across as rather camp, they look like they have just come out of drama school, or from the film Fame. It resembles the Michael Jackson Thriller video, with leather waistcoats prevalent.

Thank god I only recorded it from Freeview. The acting is appalling. No wonder why none of the actors were ever heard from again. Mel brooks could have made a much better film. This is really a made for DVD/TV film. The action scenes are rather amusing because they are so awful. Maybe it was meant to be called the "worriers".

Not so Gran Torino

It is amazing the comments written about this film, it is rather poor & at times unbelievable. Sometimes it looks like a gust of wind would blow clint over. He is just not convincing as this character. This film doesn't hang together very well. The ending isn't bad, but clint doesn't have the acting credentials to portray this character. I think a lot of clints fans are blind to its shortcomings. It is a rather poor film that certainly doesn't warrant anything near an 8 rating. I think as more & more non-clint fans see the film, its rating will drop. Clints spitting and character portrayal at times seems to be a parody of his previous roles in other films. Clints mumbling dialogue is painful at times. Come on clint you can & have done better than this.

Too long

At last bond grows up! It has taken a long time to move away from the schoolboy humour of Roger Moore & pierce brosnan (although pierce probably rescued the bond character after the dreadful Moore & boring dalton). At last a gritty bond much closer to the Fleming character, & not as 'prissy as Mr.Brosnan. Barbera broccoli & Michael Wilson have after many years of abusing bond & creating a poor comedy character finally done the right thing.

They have chucked out the dodgy gimmicks and sideshow characters and produced a film of quite a high calibre. Daniel Craig has done a brilliant job & considering all the criticism he originally received deserves enormous praise. Maybe the 'bourne' films deserve a word of credit, in that they highlighted how good a 'spy' film could be.

However the film would have benefited significantly by ditching the poisoning scene and being about 10 minutes shorter.

Batman Begins (2005)

not brilliant

I am surprised to see this film doing so well, its pretty much a re-hash of the batman character.

OK how do we do this, we throw in some Martial arts, Liam Neeson & lots of fight scenes.

It's a pretty average Hollywood film, at least Tim Burton added some character to his working of the subject & Michael Keaton fleshed the character out.

Jack Nicholson was outstanding.

This film will quickly slide out of the top 50, expect to pick it up in woollies fairly cheaply in a few months time!

give it a miss

Some bad script & acting spoils what could have been a really good film. Some moments of good acting spoilt by strange twists in the plot, makes this a hodge podge. First half of film is reminiscent of the bad tom cruise films of old. Cocky characters aimed at juvenile audiences?

What was essential a good idea gets mixed up on the cutting room floor, leaving a disjointed film.

It is almost a patchwork quilt of ideas jumbled together, mixing tear jerking movements with ridiculous somersaults by the characters. Some of the fight scenes go on forever, is it meant to be a parody? who knows.
