Where to start? Only recently started watching Brokenwood, and had been really starting to enjoy it until this train wreck came along. I know country music is popular in NZ, but too much, too awful, characters with painfully lame names: Waylon Strings, Jessie James, Slim Fingers, Choosy Choo, female lead singer clearly NOT playing her lovely steel top guitar. Band supposedly parties together after the singer publicly dumps them, without warning at a concert. .Cristina. Serban Ionda(Dr. Gina. Kadinsky), is.an almas, "I hate when that happens.", However, the cinematography remains excellent as ever!

Why anyone would give this production more than 2 stars is beyond understanding. Clearly the directors, producers, writers, ALL of AcornTV, have NEVER read any of P. D. James' Dalgliesh stories. Practically unrecognizable from the book. And how the hell do all of the wheelchair bound "residents" get up and down the stairs, they're shown down in a basement workshop, that Dalgliesh has to go down two flights of stairs to reach, as well the 1st floor office. The creepy monks robes the staff wear is bizarre to say the least. The character of Maggie is no longer a grown woman, but an annoying, impetuous teenager.

In spite of James Dreyfus' TRULY excellent performance in Part 2, neither the script writers nor the person who wrote this was "A very different episode. Excellent." Doesn't have even the vaguest lay person's understanding of the relationship between a pedophile and it's prey. They are NEVER sorry for what they do, only that they get caught. On the rare occasion that one feels true remorse for their actions, they usually commit suicide because, as yet there is no known, absolute, permanent method of correcting their corrupted hardware & programming. Greta's "remorseful" pedo dad, would literally had to have been stalking her 24/7, in order to have known about her sexual encounters, and she must have known it was him(or somebody) and therefor she is complicit in the murders. She is shown in flashback, her first encounter, she leaves the guy bound to the bed, but ungagged, he starts yelling at her as she leaves the room, how does her daddums get access to all of the rooms if she hasn't left them open for him?
