In Time (2011)
modern capitalist indentured servitude.
A fairly good metaphor for the neo-conservative/neo-liberal modern capitalist indentured servitude. All these great films that speak on the lousy nature of modern capitalism where 1/3 of the world lives on less than $1 a day and the next third on less than $2 a day ruled by nations where the elite of less than the top 1% owns more than the bottom half and the rest in between are lackeys for the top elite.
Where there are plenty of metaphors regarding modern capitalism but the right wing and its fascist idiot lackeys drain society of not merely its wealth but all that which is good true and living as truly they are death.
Predestination (2014)
Idealism and Mind Games
Though simply I can nice a nice or good film I don't as I rather state without any intention of making a pun there is no straight logic here it is totally fantasy in a drug induced trip without drugs that simply will force people to use those minds of theirs that they never really use, in what tediously what pushes in the nonsense of a reactionary endeavor towards what in simple words does not exist but in what also appears as reactionary that manifests slowly in progression to strip away the reactionary delusions of pure thought to reveal what in essence is most real where only in conclusion as an awkward stroll a good film is born in a run on sentence.
The One Percent (2006)
Dr Zhivago?
I have to love this documentary that is brutally honest from a capitalist point of view in what every over taxed poor person should watch and study to fully understand: As the royalty which once had their asses wiped by servants today capitalists have their lackeys who like Milton Friedman cater to their every whim whether or not those children of wealth want or desire that wealth.
The shame is that those lackeys is the rich expanse of their deceit lies and schemes on behalf of their masters as the basis of an insane society of greed not based on capitalism but based on the sophistry of sycophants and privileges for which some would sell their children and parents into slavery.
Romeo + Juliet (1996)
Contemporized not Modernized
Contemporized not Modernized
Some many reviews of this tasty film misuse the English in saying this production modernized Shakespeare's Romeo Juliet so patiently I resist beating down such verbalizations and those that present such limited misrepresentations. This film is deeper than a mere modernization it not only makes Shakespeare's Romeo Juliet understandable to a modern audience but liberates them from reactionary nostalgic beliefs for these are the contemporary wise guys dames thugs dudes and others so often marginalized by a society that demonizes humanity for all its wrongs characterized wrongly in what the government appoints itself the arbiter of in monopoly of what it sells and dictates but denies in others as it is all right just and proper.
A fine production fine acting fine writing fine set designs in an eternal romance as such will never die as a story that lives forever in that it is told so as to be brought to each generation a new in what is so well felt and inspires human beings where before there was none. In hopes of a better world that is prepared in the old world being seeded with new thoughts for new blood for new life in films by which we find life and meaning to our own miserable existence.
Husbands and Wives (1992)
The Bland Side of Midwood High school
Apologetically Woody Allen and I went to the very same High school with a 15 year difference I must say another Woody Allen Celebration of the once great liberal Corporate capitalist society's middle class lifestyle and the objectification the human experiences of sex and living.
Sorry I am not the biggest of fans though respectfully one can suppose they should be grateful for subject matter that would be better detailed in a book rather than in the shorthand form of popular film and cinema in what is not always relevant to everyone. Woody Allen films though of a interesting nature and good quality seemingly often presents a one sided view of what is essentially existential liberal and intellectual as if his life revolves around what exists in a Cocoon. These films are not Robert De Niro Raging Bull. Woody Allen perhaps Woody Allen closest to Dustin Hoffman in many ways is distinguished as even more insular where I would wish he broke out of his mold that is unique to him as a stylized artist who seems to have stopped expanding beyond what he has already done in his career.
This title Husbands and Wives lives up to its title but it fails to expand beyond that subject matter 26 minutes into the film in its predictable formulaic nature which though thoughtful and provocative in that sense neither present entertainment nor any intellectual breakthrough in the sphere of the middle class life style.
I want and demand significance and though this film is interesting but in that it fails to provide what "I want and demand significance" I am disappointed. This is not the three stooges nor peter Boyle. This is exclusively Woody Allen where I presume his productions are the products of his cloistered environment which means nothing to me except the world is pathetically mundane which would need to produce the dynamics of the working and under classes if there was no "working and under classes" that are sorely lacking in Woody Allen films.
So 35 minutes into the film and I am still bored as the dynamics are insular subjective of a personal nature that seems to be lacking a social element similar in nature to Jane Austen but lacking the blunt social dynamics life is so full of.
The Train (1964)
Veterans of Real Wars
Here is a film with very prestigious names, generally produced by the same industry around Hollywood that produces so many trashy films for specific market groups women, teens, blacks, males, which normally depicts the super hero. Hollywood much like the Nazis produce these Nietzsche super heroes who accomplish their deeds based on the Hitlerian will to do so based on the backward philosophy of Romanticism and Idealism. Here shows the contrasting the insanity of versus the material and social reality of humanity. It is one of Burt Lancaster's better films with plenty of dialogue and action for all.
This film was made a mere 16 years after World War II while so many of the resistance veterans were still alive to recounts how they fought wars without the creature comforts and safety of so many today including soldiers. Then 85% of US soldiers were ground troops today progressively less and less, where they are those who get breakfasts of MREs and POP tarts, sleeping safely in the delusional bunkers in where the war is never directly seen but fought thousands of miles away without some US troops even getting their finger nails dirty as it is if they merely play a video game.
Good film about the "good war".
The End (2008)
Honesty Realism Excellent Story Line
Sorry to use some of the language I used to describe this great documemtary film on my website blog at http://zito.biz/fuckyou but there is no other way to describe things.
Shows some of the rationalizations that people in compartmentalization of anti-social thoughts use that is now all so prevalent in the governmental, by law enforcement as well as criminal circles. The difference between criminals and law enforcement officials is that when law enforcement does it they do it as part of the system, that using their standing in the system, use the system as a weapon as a crime against society, whereas common criminals use it as a personal matter as individuals.
This is a great documentary with all sorts of a very honest commentary which is good but frankly it is not something that was ever duplicated on the police or law enforcement side of the social spectrum, as in reality it is the police and legal authorities who are the most dishonest of the bunch using their powers every day for personal gain and satisfaction rather than purely social good.
She's Gotta Have It (1986)
Call me stupid I liked
It left me with the fair and decent taste of realism and romance, sex and love, forethought and spontaneity, intelligence and some of the dumb situations that all less than people find themselves outside of "Holywood" (Hollywood haha). In places people actually can talk to you in public rather than posing and pretending they are gangsters and what they are not.
A production about real people trivialized by any mention of a production budget, a script that which is so much alive and intelligent from the last urban bastions like Brooklyn which the "SluBlubrias" (Suburbia) of America and all the industrial world which sorely miss and find it difficult to compete on such levels.
A classic in romance and thought which made me feel like I was there.
Stupid white productions with budgets and no soul eat your hearts out.
The acting was excellent, sad part is that productions like this are not so often show on TV. A great work on the humanism of the human spirit.

Bowling for Columbine (2002)
Faith and Logic
Generally the right in the USA (as they are often associated and affiliated with Christian though) pounds into us that issues are ultimately determined in one's mind as a matter of faith in that Mr. Michael Moore has done an excellent job that rightists can only attack as a matter of spin I think he has created an excellent work on which honestly the right should dwell on with a grain of sat and an open mind.
Though it is true that Switzerland requires its citizens to own a firearm and be generally in a militia (and has a lower rate of murders by firearm in total and per capita generally Switerland has a lower level of murders (either in total or per capita source Nationamaster.com 2005 - which means the issue is not necessarily one of "gun control" but society) Mr. Moore has done a great job of giving us food for thought in the stale argument for and against gun control, social responsibility, society, and crime.
GOOD WORK MR. Moore your critics couldn't have done better trying to rebut you if they tried and believe me they tried.
