Walker, Texas Ranger: Flashback (1995)
Worst Episode of the Series
I have seen all 182 episodes of "Walker, Texas Ranger" (182 counting 2-parters as 1 episode and counting the 4-part episode with Michael Ironside as the Chairman as 1 episode), and I can honestly say that this is the worst episode. The plot is bland and the poor pacing does not help anything. I would rank it slightly higher if it was only a regular hour-long episode, but a 2-part episode for the bland plot only made the episode worse than it had to be. The episode just drags on and on.
The only memorable aspect of this episode was Walker getting bit by a rattlesnake. Apparently, the Hayes Cooper debut episode was so horrible that it was written out of the series' continuity, and subsequent Hays Cooper episodes ignored this episode.
Home Alone 3 (1997)
Plot could have been solved in minutes
People complain that this movie is a disgrace to the original 2 'Home Alone' films, that it simply re-hashes their plots and antics, and while they do have a point, what most people fail to realize is that regardless of whether or not it is true to the first 2 films, it belongs on a list of "Movie Plots That Could Have Been Solved in Minutes." The whole plot hinges on 4 criminals getting their bag containing a top-secret device getting mixed-up at the airport with a bag belonging to a senior citizen who lives in the suburbs of Chicago across the street from the hero of the film. They trace the bag to the suburbs, and the movie goes from there.
But, the plot of the movie could have been solved in minutes (to the advantage of the villains rather than the hero) had the criminals (or at least the woman criminal who held onto the bag) simply kept the wrong bag and approached the senior citizen who had their bag after landing in Chicago to simply exchange bags. The senior citizen would have wanted her bag rather than the criminals' bag (she later indicates that she is angry about having the wrong bad rather than the correct bag), and the plot would have been solved right there. The criminals would have gotten away and we never would have been introduced to the hero, but the plot would have been as simple as it could be.
PROS: It has that late 1990s suburb feel to it, and the booby traps are slightly more realistic (as far as the criminals surviving them is concerned).
Walker, Texas Ranger: One Riot, One Ranger (1993)
Best Pilot Ever
Unrecognized as one of the best pilots in the history of American television, and one of the best episodes of this series, 'One Riot, One Ranger' conveys the heart and soul of "Walker, Texas Ranger" and illustrates that there was more to this series than Chuck Norris beating-up thugs and lowlifes.
The pilot of this series is a must-see for anybody who appreciates this show. Nobody who has a sour opinion of this show has seen the pilot and given it a fair chance. The pacing is flawless and this pilot features the perfect amount of character development, which leaves viewers adequately acquainted with the characters.
Some of the best plot points in this episode include Walker helping a young girl get her life back after being the victim of sexual assault, Walker and Trivette becoming excellent partners, and Walker avenging the murder of his previous partner. Every scene fits in the episode perfectly.
