Batman Begins (2005)
Batman, has Finally begun.
I am writing this review as just having been one of the first of 200 audience members in the entire state of Arizona to have viewed Batman Begins at an IMAX Theater.
let me start off this review by saying, that I have been following this movie for nearly 2 years, since I first heard it was in production, and have been just as eagerly been waiting for it then, as I was 20 minutes before it began.
now then. This movie, redefines Batman as a Badass. no more pussyfooting batman of old, no more "chicks dig the car." B.S, this movie was explosive, when Batman punched someone, the audience could feel it, it wasn't just a punch, but a PUNCH and when you see this movie, you will understand what I am talking about. Batman faces off against 2 villains in this film, Ra's Al Ghul, and The Scarecrow, suffice to say, fans of the comic book series, will not be disappointed in these villains, without giving anything away, I can't say anything further without spoiling anything. This movie follows the basic outline of the "Batman, Year one" series, and you never see the Bat-suit, until 45 minutes into the film. In those first 45 minutes you'll be taken to many different vast, and grand locations. And when we first really see the city of Gotham, it looks like an actual plausible city, not like some Gothic cathedral was vomited all over New York, but an actual plausible city.
Very little digital effects were used in this film (if any) and those that may have been used, I could not tell. Now, my main concern with this movie was the Tumbler, I.E the new Batmobile. It looks bulky and cheap. But when you see this thing in action, you can definitely tell it's a Batmobile Bruce will eventually twist and mold into the Batmobile we know and love by movie 2. (Please god, let there be a sequel, and let it be directed by Nolan) But, I will admit, like every movie, it has its flaws, I felt some of the humor wasn't particularly needed (don't worry its not cheesy like the last 2) but to me I felt a few comedic relief lines didn't need to really be there. I would have also liked more scenes of the underground, to really see the poverty of Gotham, but some may argue there was too much of that, really it just comes down to personal taste.
Anyways, to wrap this up, Great visuals without ******** CGI everywhere like directors are so darned fond of doing anymore, TIP TOP acting (Bale, Caine, Neeson, Freeman, how can you go wrong?) My Rating? 5/5 stars.

Versus (2000)
We don't need no stinking plot
This movie, while made to be an action type with some subtle humor, grades pretty low to folks looking for an action movie to snuggle up with and watch alone. This movie is much, much more fun to watch with others, preferably with a sense of humor.
If you're not a fan of action, and are looking for anything remotely deep and meaningful, look someplace else.
The movie is shot entirely in a forest setting, with the times shifting from morning to twilight frequently.
The action is very well put together despite being on an obvious low budget. I recommend this movie to anyone with a few hours to kill with a few friends.
