OutPost 11 (2013)
6/10
Starts off so well
14 October 2013
This film comes with and interesting premise and a somewhat unfairly low rating.

An intriguing disappointment.

So what for? Well a it's stylish, claustrophobic steampunk romp filmed in pretty much 3 rooms, with occasional use of some great outdoor scenery. Alas it's disjointed and doesn't wrap it's self up at all, yet the spirit is there...

Outpost 11 is completely flawed by the final act that makes little sense. It's however far from total rubbish by proxy of it's ambition.

6/10 for weirdo effort

Disappointing
11 October 2013
As others have noted Outpost 2 starts out with interesting opening, a bit of back story to the first enjoyable outing. Of course this is solid B Movie territory.

Alas momentum is soon lost as the movie sags with a depressingly predictable script swaying into ridiculous cliché, (Nazi hag Zombie ?!) The first Outpost worked because it had some genuine suspense, decent horror and likable non cardboard characters.

if your a fan of the first and or the sub-sub genre of Nazi super Zombie it's probably still worth a watch, it looks well and does flirt with interesting moments.

Early John Carpenter this is not a real shame as the original Outpost certainly was close. The awful poster sums it up.

Misjudged.

The Objective (2008)
7/10
Off beat Sci-fi weirdness
21 August 2008
This a smart Sci-fi/horror/ War Movie in a similar vein to R-Point or Outpost, a bit of popular myth (this time on a Erik von Dankin tip)... set against the backdrop of the most modern of wars.

It's low budget and fairly obscure, punching above its weight with superbly haunting location shots (Atlas Mountains Morocco) and tight audio FX / Soundtrack. The Special forces soldiers are believable too, kudos to the military adviser, and the acting's not bad too.

The best think about 'The Objective'is the brooding pacing, It never scared me, more just left of field enough to make you think - this is and a bit different, that's a bit odd, this ain't Hollywood etc... and all the better for it... not surprising then to learn its from one of the directors from Blair Witch...

On the flip side the heavy narration gives it a TV movie feel and though it kind of works in the end hmmmm, I dunno there was still a bit much. Narrative's a bit al over thae place, and whilst some might shout "rubbish" or IMDb fav "worst movie ever" I'll go for "fun for what it is" and that is on a par with an extended version of your fav X-file's/Outer limits episode.... Absolutely Recommended I thoroughly enjoyed 'The Objective'

Turd Pie
2 February 2008
Turd Pie:

* Take x2 franchises * Par-boil for 5 mins * Stir in mixed cardboard characters (non Actors work best) * Add 2 tons of clichés then bake in Your Plot-Hole Microwave until bored. * Serve with a Sprinkling of Dawson's Crack - erm - I mean Creek

Voila! - Money spinning Brain Rot for the Emo/World of Warcraft Generation

Looking for the keys in drain was the best bit (?)

Aside from the first 5 mins, its one of the worst films ever made.

Utter, Utter, Nonsense.

The Detonator (2006 Video)

the worst film on gods earth
28 October 2006
OK, ill be brief. This film wasn't just bad it was very very bad, with line4s like " if you deal with the devil you expect to get sh*t on your shoes" you know your in hideous film territory. After watching this film i wanted to kill myself and my entire family, it gave me such a vast feeling of self-loathing I wanted to do murder. don't watch this film. i will kill again. but when I do it will be terribly edited with a pathetic soundtrack and stock shot for hire action sequences and bad shirts.

fortunately there is a flipside, its the first action film to feature a three door ford sierra.

unfortunately it ends up trashed on its roof :(

Ps: Worse than the Marksman

Aliens (1990 Video Game)
10/10
Superb, Imaginative and Totally Playable
6 August 2006
Aliens is one of the finest examples of Coin-Op games of it's era. The gaming experience is superb and totally captures the creepy intense feel of the movie, If your a fan of Aliens Definitely check this out. So much attention to detail; such as the measured marine walk animation, the gorgeous industrial psychedelic backdrops, and all the wacky Alien Mutations!! All this set with a freaky Proto-Trance-Synthpop soundtrack, squealing Aliens and of course the Thermal Roar of the Smart Gun!! Exactly how a Coin-Op movie conversion should be!! and more.....

way beyond 10 0ut of 10!!!
