A Snuffs Enough Already
1 April 2019
This sick twisted French flick follows a man who decides to shoot a horror film only to have everyone hate it. He changes the premise to a snuff film and kills the people who didn't like his previous work.

This one is released under the title Devil's Weekend from Wild Eye Releasing. Mostly shock value in this one but the gore is very well done which gives it that realistic look. Not for everyone though as he often is shown having sex with different dead body parts and even a dead cat. Is that necrobestiality? One scene has him pull a colon out and squeeze the feces into his mouth. This scene is on the DVD insert. You have been warned.

Deathrow Scarecrow

Warning: Spoilers
The world's most deadly killers are housed in a special clinic with the utmost security (they use wooden doors with no locks). It just so happens that the worst one of the bunch escapes leaving a pile of bodies. Can he be stopped? A group of unsuspecting young adults hope so.

I thought this was going to be like Friday the 13th meets Con Air but that was far from what it was. Nothing really new here except for one scene where the killer rides in on a horse. I thought that was different, which got me thinking they should have done a Jason Goes West.

Killer Waste Of Time
2 September 2018
A group of friends go to cut down Christmas trees then decide to explore an abandoned hotel where of course they meet up with doom and gloom.

Another crappy horror flick that for some strange reason I watched all the way through. The killer's mask looks more like the Silo Killer (2002) mask then it does a Santa. For an added bonus you get this annoying tune that a choir of kids are singing, every three minutes! After an hour I was hoping to be the next victim. The ending is just as pathetic.

A Standout
4 July 2018
A huge tree with a nasty habit of people dying around it, is the subject of choice for a student journalist who wants to find out what is really happening and why.

I went into this one figuring it would suck large but was I surprised. Top notch effects with loads of scary scenes that effect your neck hairs. With the ample amount of devil possession flicks out there this one stands out. The scene where a man shoots himself in the face and then shoots himself again because he didn't do it right, was worth it alone. Some award winning effects on that one. The ending could have been a lot better but that and its short run time might be the only flaws.

A horror buff goes to extreme lengths to obtain a copy of a fabled snuff film he knows exist. You don't look for this film... it looks for you!

This one had a cool premise but quickly falls flat by the director repeating the same scenes over and over. The bunny mask on scantily clad women holding knives has been done before so no real creativity. You do see some classic horror exploitation titles throughout.

Mediocre Mountain Hop
24 June 2018
A woman, her son and a friend of hers take the ashes of her recently deceased husband to the top of a mountain they use to frequent. Things go well until a strange man wearing sunglasses begins to stalk them.

This one is a slow burner with some decent dialogue and character building but remains mediocre as far as the story goes. A couple of parts may make you cringe and you may wonder how this guy can see out of his glasses at night, but just keep an open mind.

Nothing too earth shattering but not completely boring either.

Depressing But Entertaining
24 June 2018
A young woman falls for a small time drug dealer who ends up in jail facing a long sentence. She has no money but needs 17 000 dollars to get a decent lawyer and pay a dealer back. How far will she go to get it? You have to go long along with the idea that she loves this man (that she just met) so much she'll do however many people it takes to get him out. Most of the film she is snorting coke and having sex but it is necessary for the context of the plot.

This film is gritty and down right depressing but entertaining at the same time. Try and catch this one but be warned (or notified) that there are a few explicit scenes.

A Cool Summer Flick
17 June 2018
A freshly dumped man finds out his ex was sleeping with an autistic boy at school, so he grabs two friends and sets out for him.

This was a slow burner that was well done. It sucks you right in and then mortifies you. The flick is along the same lines as Bully and Boys Don't Cry but a little more dark and is based on a true story.

I was waiting to hear the Bananarama song Cruel Summer but there must have been some rights issues so you don't hear it. It does get heavy at he end so it might not be for everybody but all around a good flick.

Clawed Hopper
15 June 2018
A toxic substance in the woods has created a beast that instantly screws you over. A bunch of students head to the area to take samples and meet really gross deaths in the process.

This one had pretty good make-up effects and gore. A few cheesy CGI effects but over all not bad. The flick suffered however from lack of an interesting plot. After 40 minutes they run out of ideas and the movie fizzles at this point. I did laugh when a guy had been clawed and he starts jumping to get away. I called him a Clawed Hopper!

The ending irked me as well which is why I gave it only two stars. You will feel like your eyes should be Clawed out of your head for witnessing such crap.

A Must See
6 June 2018
A woman hides all her dildos and then decides to end it all by ingesting pills. After she passes out two men break in doing a home invasion. Things get a little weird from here on in.

A well done film which could have easily been a play since everything takes place in one room over the course of one night. It does get pretty crude and sick at times (golden showers, rapes etc.) then switches to people baring their souls, so it is an emotional rollercoaster.

The acting was top notch which really helped the overall dynamic. These are weird characters to pull off and they get the job done. The added bonus was the jazz score as sound effects in crucial scenes like the hammering of piano keys as someone's penis got bit.

You'll either enjoy this one or you'll think its just plain weird but a definite must see.

Annoying 616
3 June 2018
Some friends get together for a dinner and then do a designer drug that screws one of them over big time. This has him taking the life out of the party.

Deep religious themes are mixed with gore in this one. This film does get pretty intense at times as well as boring the other times. The main lead is annoying and some people will probably hate the ending but the good thing is there won't likely be a sequel.

Those little flaws hamper the picture. You just can't get into it. They should have called it Annoying 616.

Suprisingly Good!
16 April 2018
A true 80's slasher classic with all the trimmings. The over the top absurd kills (an iron held to the throat) with lots of nudity and even aerobics in leotards. It doesn't get any better than this.

If you watch the DVD version there is a part after the movie which shows how the director and his wife rescue Greyhounds now.

Wait For Another Bus
15 April 2018
I thought Tara Reid's mother had a guest appearance at the beginning, but it turned out to be Tara Reid doing some kind of Mummynado. We get lucky with her not being in it for very long.

We don't get so lucky with the overall film however. A group head out on a bus trip to The Burning Man Festival but end up lost and being on the menu for some demon worshipping cannibals.

It just ends up being silly with laughable effects and shows laziness on the production end of it. The demon suit near the end takes the prize. There is consistant nudity which may or may not help you get through this film.

I recommend you stay off this bus and wait for another.

A Real Horror Treat
30 March 2018
Finally we have a horror that kicks ass on almost all levels. Right from frame one you see how sick this one is going to be and how awesome.

Done as a throwback horror we follow a sadistic mime (the dude from All Hallows' Eve) who likes to give people vile deaths. The gore is top shelf as well as the score.

This director doesn't hold back on anything. When he colours he really goes outside the lines which makes it rock that much more. For a good tense and twisted time check this one out. If you're a horror fan this will be one of your new favourites.

Here's The Scoop On This one
17 September 2017
A woman has to wait a few days at the new house for the rest of her family to arrive as they finish up school. To keep herself occupied she starts smoking pot, has an affair and then kills somebody. She may have been better off watching films on her laptop.

This a weird film for sure. It doesn't follow any slasher format that I know of. In fact the film is more about boredom and having a midlife crisis than it is about a psychotic ice cream guy. It almost felt like a way watered down American Beauty meets Ice Cream Man (1995). Horror fans should avoid this one. The ending will annoy you as well.

Clowntergeist (2017)

Clownorcist
12 September 2017
Warning: Spoilers
A girl with a fear of clowns starts getting nightmares of a clown being in the house. The clown kills her dog and leaves a balloon with a date and time on it. She finds out it wasn't a dream and the date on the balloon is when she is going to die. She has two days to figure stuff out.

This was a pretty crappy flick. The picture and sound was impressive but that was it. For one the clown wasn't a ghost but in fact a demonic clown. Clownorcist would've been more fitting . The clown wasn't scary looking at all and he moved like a gorilla zombie. If you can get past this you'll have to deal with the story not making much sense. She knows what time she's going to die but instead she keeps worrying about getting killed all the time. You keep yelling at the screen "you got one more day he's not going to kill you yet?" and the worst is we are supposed to be in suspense that she might die.

The violence is tame but there is a ton of jump scares and just as many clichés. Maybe it should've been Clichetergeist or sorry Clicheorcist. Maybe just forget about this one altogether that is obviously trying to jump on the "It" train similar to Circus Kane that just came out.

Not About Getting Fit As The Title Suggest
7 September 2017
Warning: Spoilers
A couple and their son are having several issues trying to keep the family together as they seem distant and full of tension. While attempting this their house appears to be haunted with all of them seeing ghosts. What they soon find out is that they are the ghosts and they can't leave the house. They need to figure out how to move on before the creepy shadow creatures get them.

This had an interesting premise that was kind of like a serious Beetlejuice but it never reaches its full potential. It was neat how the ghosts still need to eat and sleep so they have to rely on whatever the living people own or get as groceries. The film however is an incredible slow, boring burner. I don't think anyone will watch this twice. It is a very depressing flick as well. The ghost family was lucky the other family never moved out which would've left them with nothing!

Nazi Occult Gone Wrong
3 September 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Some girls stay at a house for the weekend that has a few issues. The previous owner was one of Hitler's aids who escaped to the States. He had an amulet sent to him that was stolen from the French that would feed of hatred and fear. Long story short he kills his daughter and his wife kills him. This leaves two angry ghosts buzzing around the place. It's going to be a long weekend.

This one has a cool little back story but seems to keep the horror mild. Some neat effects are done with the ghosts which of course come with the jump scares. Mostly borrowed ideas all throughout the film but it still entertains. David Naughton pops up at the start as the new owner of the house. It could have been a lot darker of a film so we might have to wait for a remake.

It Should Be Havenhurts
26 August 2017
A woman is in a sobriety program after her drunk driving ended up killing her daughter. She moves into a huge Gothic style apartment where other addicts reside trying to better themselves. If anyone has a slip and falls off the wagon the house removes them fast. She tries to find out where the house takes these people who are never seen again.

This is loosely based on a late 1800's serial killer H.H. Holmes who built a murder house and claimed to kill over 200 people but was closer to 10 in reality. The house in the flick does have some cool trap doors and hidden rooms where some sick surgeries take place. There are some good gore effects but they are only utilized a couple of times. Not much time is spent giving any background to the story or even the characters really, which makes you kind of step back a bit, instead of immersing yourself into the story. I didn't like the ending but a sequel could fix everything.

Girl In Crappy Movie
13 August 2017
Warning: Spoilers
A couple go to a cottage and end up on a huge walk in the woods. He gets shot in the head which leaves the woman on her own , lost in the woods. She now must fight against nature as well as her mental illness to stay alive.

This one sucked bad. If you bang your head real hard and then watch it you might like it. For an example, she is in the woods equipped with a gun but somehow has to resort to cannibalism on her boyfriend's corpse. There is a million things she could've done, but she just walks in circles getting more insane by the minute.

The film does get on your nerves quick as the scenes get repetitive. They try and split it up by showing flashbacks of her past, but it can't stop the boredom.

The Bright Light
13 August 2017
A road in Australia is said to be haunted by a ghost of a man on a motorcycle, who was killed on The Lemon Tree Passage, by a car filled with teenagers. If you are in a car with teenagers and get to a certain speed on this road, you will see a bright light that follows you then disappears. If I tried this the bright light would be the police and probably wouldn't disappear. A group of teenagers try the road out for themselves and one of them gets possessed by another spirit. This spirit wants revenge on some people.

This wasn't too bad but it gets confusing at times as to what in the hell is going on. There are some creepy scenes and a few scares but at times it seems too much is going on. Almost like listening to three radio stations at once.

Mental Suffering

A man is brought out to a huge estate for a property appraisal. After a few days the man starts losing his mind as he finds the place full of secrets and very unsettling things. The man who hired him keeps offering more money to do the job in order to keep him there longer. He soon finds there might be no escape.

This flick was a major slow burner. It does build up to a trippy ending, but you might not have enough patience to find out. The subject matter gets a little deep as well so if you're not in the mood for a heavy flick, steer clear of this one.

Nothing exciting but there are a few creepy scenes and a whole lot of wondering what'd really going on.

Just Desserts
30 July 2017
Some friends do sick pranks on people like pretending to be the police on the phone, telling them their spouse died and then post their reactions to their sites. Not having any remorse, they continue pranking until a mysterious man calls them, turning the tide. Just desserts are served as he ups the ante by knowing everything about them. Having their parents tied to a chair, waiting to be killed, persuades them a bit. He continues to make their lives hell as they struggle to keep from hanging up the phone.

This one starts off with some cool camera shots and then the film just grabs you and doesn't let up much at all. If there was a tension meter this film would have it maxed out.

There are some predictable scenes and a minimal amount of violence but overall it still rocks. A decent budget and loads of jump scares keep you on your toes. Watch this one for sure and whatever you do Don't Hang Up! 6 pizza pranks out of 10.

Vampires vs Cannibals
26 July 2017
Two brothers head off to fight in the Civil War. They survive the war but end up bitten by a vampire, which in turn changes them to vampires. They decide to grow some crops on their land with some recently freed slaves to get enough money for a potion that will change them back. They run into trouble of course, with the man who owns the town. Land claims and prejudices, starts off the feud.

A few genres are blended to give us one crappy movie. John Savage plays the rich owner who spends most of his time drinking and barking orders. This is probably his worst film yet although he was in Bermuda Tentacles.

The whole film just had a hokey vibe. You got the Night Walkers (the vampires) and the Eaters (the cannibals) who are constantly doing battle with Savage conducting everything. It does seem that the vampires always win. Not much in the way of effects just some vampire teeth and the odd red stain. Just avoid this one and you might have a more fruitful life.

Capturing Souls
23 July 2017
Warning: Spoilers
A man gets an old WWII era camera that he uses as therapy to get over his post traumatic disorders. He fires off ten rolls of film and discovers that in each roll of developed film there is a picture of someone dead. Every death depicted happens within a few days. He discovers one of the pictures is his fiancé. He tries to stop fate by substituting a life for hers but it only delays things a little bit. Before you know it he is a full fledged serial killer trying to preserve his future wife.

The film is a slight variation of the Final Destination series meets Shudder which is basically messing with death. This one pulls off the tension pretty good with some violent deaths. Fast paced with a synthesizer type soundtrack. The problem with this one is that it peters out near the end, almost as if the writer got tired Overall not bad.
