Not As Good As The Original But Provides Some Laughs
26 March 2012
Revenge Of The Nerds II Nerds In Paradise may not a comedy classic like it's predecessor Revenge Of The Nerds but it's still an enjoyable movie to watch. This time our nerd heroes must once again fight back against their most hated enemy. Robert Carradine's character Lewis grows up quite a bit and stands up for his fraternity brothers.

Curtis Armstrong is as always his funny self when playing nose picker Booger his character is more hilarious, he says some great lines in the film. A year has passed since a group of intelligent and awkward young men banded together to form a fraternity to fight back against the Alpha Betas. They succeeded in their battle of brains vs. brawn guaranteeing nerd freedom, Now Lewis (Carradine) and his friends Wormser (Cassese), Pointdexter (Busfield), Lamar (Scott) & Booger (Armstrong) are about to represent Adams College at a united fraternity conference in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Once there they are prosecuted and picked on again by another chapter of the Alpha Betas run by Roger Latimore (Whitford). Sunny Carstairs (Smith) a hotel employee befriends the nerdy gang and falls in love with Lewis.

Towards the end after being marooned on an island the boys find military equipment and using an army tank they head back to the conference to confront Roger and his group with the help of Ogre (Gibb) who becomes a member of the Lambda Lambdas after being kicked out of the Alphas.

This film may not be a laugh fest but certainly provides very little humour and memorable quotes.

A Comedy Classic For The Nerd In All Of Us
25 March 2012
I first saw Revenge Of The Nerds ten years ago when I bought it on VHS it was a well made college comedy without too much nudity like most of today's films. Robert Carradine & Anthony Edwards lead a cast of all stars in this very funny and intelligent movie about a group of misfits who use their intelligence to fight back against a group of football players in a fraternity

I myself was a nerd too and got bullied and picked on a lot so in a way i understood how the characters felt about being treated differently because of my appearance and the fact that I'm smart.Besides Lewis one of my other favourite characters in the movie is Gilbert his best friend, he takes a stand against nerd prosecution by helping his friends fight for their rights.

When best friends Lewis Skolnick (Carradine) & Gilbert Lowe (Edwards) begin their freshman year at Adams College they are unaware of the trouble that's ahead for them. Upon arrival they quickly discover that people like them are treated different, when a popular fraternity called the Alpha Betas run by Stan Gable (McGinley) carelessly burn down their house they seize control of the freshmen dorm for their own. With no place to go the displaced freshmen move into the gymnasium until they find a place or be accepted into other fraternities. Joining our two heroes are child genius Harold Wormser (Cassesse), violin player Pointdexter (Busfield), nose picking Dudley Dawson aka Booger (Armstrong), Chinese exchange student Takashi (Tochi) and Lamar Latrelle (Scott). Aiding the Alpha Betas is their neighbouring sorority The Pi Delta Pis. Further complicating the situation is Lewis's developing crush on Betty Childs (Montgomery)a popular cheerleader, sorority sister and Gable's girlfriend.

Two of my favourite scenes in the film include Lewis disguising himself so he can have sex with Betty in the fun house and the most surprising part is when she falls in love with him and dumps Stan then she declares "I'm in love with a nerd".

The other scene takes place after the Lambdas win the homecoming games and return to find their house totally trashed and almost destroyed and Gilbert finally decides he's not gonna take the abuse anymore and goes to confront the enemy.

The ending was pretty awesome because this group of ordinary young men fought for their rights and won against the beautiful people, seeing everyone including Gilbert's girlfriend Judy (Meyrink) joining the crowd was entertaining. The song We Are The Champions fit that part perfectly.

Other cast members included John Goodman from Roseanne, Donald Gibb, Matt Salinger, Bernie Casey, David Wohl and Jamie Cromwell as Mr. Skolnick. they delivered good performances.

For fans of comedy and nerds out there I recommend Revenge Of The Nerds it's a sure crowd pleaser.

A John Candy Classic , Funny & Heartwarming
2 March 2012
John Candy was one of the most gifted actors in Hollywood having seen his performances in Splash, Uncle Buck, Spaceballs and Cool Runnings he had a great talent for both comedy and drama. Only the Lonely is a funny little gem that also features the great acting of Maureen O'Hara, Jim Belushi & Ally Sheedy.

The story is simple a lonely Chicago cop in his late 30's finds romance with the daughter of a funeral parlour owner he must also deal with his mother who disapproves of the relationship. Maureen O'Hara portrayed the role of Rose Muldoon to perfection, she comes across as a tight fisted iron willed Irish woman who tells it like it is without any regard of who gets hurt.

Danny Muldoon (Candy) is a 38 year old police officer who still lives with with his mother in Chicago he is always worried about her to the point of having nightmares in which something bad happens. still single and longing to find love soon enough his search ends up in the one place nobody would expect. One evening at a bar Danny crosses paths with Theresa Luna (Sheedy) the shy daughter of funeral parlour owner Johnny Luna (Greco). The next day he heads to the parlour where Theresa does make up for the stiffs. He asks her out, she says yes. The funniest scene is when they are on the date and he tells an amusing story about his brother Patrick's (Dunn) bachelor party.

Another plot of the film sees Nick Acropolis (Quinn) Danny's neighbour trying to win the affections of his mother he's been asking her out for years she keeps turning him down. However by the end of the film after accepting her son's choice to be with the love of his life she warms up to Nick's charms.

Funny & filled with many dramatic moments Only The Lonely is a good gem of a movie for anyone out there. Rest In Peace John you are missed.

Twilight (I) (2008)
7/10
A Classic Love Story With A Twist
12 November 2011
Up until three years ago I never heard of this movie or read the books by Stephanie Meyer it was only after i borrowed the film from my sister that I saw why people fell in love with it. Twilight tells the story of a modern day teenage girl who falls in love with a vampire it was the best epic romance film in years.

Robert Pattinson & Kristen Stewart portray the star crossed couple pretty well they have great chemistry on screen their performance throughout the film was amazing.Pattinson's the sexiest vampire I've seen since Brad Pitt in 1994's Interview With The Vampire, the scenery and action sequences were visually incredible.

I have all four books in the series as well as the films and can't wait until Breaking Dawn comes out in theatres and then on DVD.

At 17 years old Bella Swan (Stewart) is different she's never been one to run with the popular kids at her school or be part of a social clique that consists of snobby girls. When she moves to Forks, Washington to live with her father chief of police Charlie (Burke)she doesn't expect too much to happen, however the course of her life is about to change forever.

On her first day of school she makes new friends with Mike (Welch) Jessica (Kendrick), Eric (Chon) and Angela (Serratos) Bella becomes intrigued when she sees the Cullen siblings including 17 year old Edward (Pattinson) a boy with a dark secret. After some research and occurrences where he possesses quick speed and strength she finds out he's a vampire, in 1918 he was on the verge of death due to Spanish influenza in order to save him his adoptive father Carlisle (Facinelli) transformed him so he would forever remain a teenager. As their different worlds and hearts collide he struggles with the lust burning inside him and deals with a trio of deadly vampires who want to harm his girlfriend.

she also meets the rest of his family mother Esmee (Reaser), brothers Jasper (Rathbone) & Emmett (Lutz)then finally his sisters Alice (Greene) who treats Bella like a sister and Rosalie (Reed) who dislikes her because she's human.

For fans of romantic fantasy and action Twilight is a crowd pleaser sure to entertain legions of fans everywhere

I Can Make You Love Me (1993 TV Movie)
7/10
A Terrifying True Story Of Stalking & Violence
2 November 2011
Up until a few months ago I had never seen I Can Make You Love Me or read the story about Laura Black and after watching the film I was left feeling sickened and horrified. This movie tells the story of how a man's four year obsession and stalking of a female employee ended in a tragic conclusion.

I had seen Richard Thomas in Death In Small Doses and he's a brilliant actor with great talent his portrayal of real life killer Richard Farley sent chills down my spine as he played a man with a sick obsession. Brooke Shields delivered an incredible performance as Laura as the film progressed it amazed me how she had the courage and bravery to escape the rampage alive and how she reacted when her boss told her about the real reason why Farley got fired .

At 23 years old Laura Black (Shields) is about to leave her parents home in Virginia after accepting a job at K.E.I. in Sillicon Valley California, on her first day she's introduced to long time employee Richard Farley (Thomas) whose immediately attracted to her beauty after lunch he invites her out she politely turns him down.Over the next few days he is shown waiting for her in her office with fresh baked bread to show how he feels and then watches outside her aerobics class as she removes her sweater to reveal her outfit.

What happens next is a four year nightmare for Laura as Farley continues to follow her repeatedly even going so far as to slash the tires on her car, trick other employees into giving him her address, enrolling in her exercise class, breaking into the office to get more info on her, breaking into the garage at her apartment building. The worst ones were taking pictures outside her home and writing to her parents about their relationship. There was a scene when she goes home to visit her family for Christmas and receives a gift entitled our summer vacation which causes her to break down crying.

What made the situation even more difficult was his threats to go after members of her family if she tried to leave or learn that she was meant for him.

She made many complaints to her boss about what she endured because of him only to be told that they didn't want to jeopardize his security clearance over her right to be safe.It made me feel angry the company should have done more to help keep her protected from harassment.

The final straw comes after she files a restraining order and it pushes him to the edge and the result is a shooting rampage which claims the lives of several employees and injured others including Laura.

After the film California became the first place to enact an anti stalking law and other cities have followed since. This film is an example of how horrifying obsession can be as well as stalking.

Hocus Pocus (1993)

A Childhood Favorite Full Of Tricks & Plenty Of Laughs
7 October 2011
I was only 7 years old when Hocus Pocus was released and it instantly became one of my favourite films to watch on Halloween and any day of the year. Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy & Sarah Jessica Parker delivered hilarious performances as a trio of witches brought back to life to cause mischief and mayhem on the scariest night of the year. Why anyone would give it a bad review is beyond me? This film is good for fans of all ages.

In 1693 the Sanderson sisters Winifred (Midler) Mary (Najimy) and Sarah (Parker) convicted of witchcraft and the death of Emily Binx (Rivera) were hanged by the townsfolk but before their death Winifred vowed they would return when a virgin would light a candle and the life force from all the children will be for them.

Approximately 300 years later in 1993 teenager Max Dennison (Katz) has moved with his family from Los Angeles to the town of Salem Massachusetts, where the legend of the Sanderson sisters is still popular he believes it to be nothing more than just a stupid Halloween story made up by a candy company. He ends up taking his 8 year old sister Dani (Birch) trick or treating while his parents attend a party at town hall. They stop at house where Allison (Shaw) the girl Max has a crush on and classmate from school is holding a party, she tells them her knowledge of the sisters and that the house they lived in is now a museum.

Wanting to impress his dream girl they all go to the old house where Winifred's spell book still is in a glass case. As soon as the black flame candle is lit trouble begins when the Sanderson sisters return from the grave. Aiding Max, Dani, & Allison in the battle to stop the witches from taking all the children's life force is Thackery Binx (Murray)a teenager from the 16th century who had a spell of immortality placed on him and was transformed into a black cat as punishment for trying to stop the the enemy and has lived with the guilt of not being able to save his sister for centuries.

I'm not going to spoil the ending for those who have yet to see the movie all I can say is that you have to see it to believe it.

Mike & Molly (2010–2016)
Funny, Refreshing & Charming
18 September 2011
When I first viewed this show I was trying to find something entertaining to watch and after a few minutes I laughed so hard because this sitcom was the funniest I've seen in a longtime. Mike & Molly tells the story of a couple who meet at an overeater's anonymous group and fall in love, Billy Gardell & Melissa McCarthy have great chemistry on screen and the cast is fantastic Swoosie Kurtz & Katy Mixon deliver comical performances as Molly's mother & sister who are always giving advice about her relationship.

What I enjoy most about the series is that it takes a look at a sensitive subject and the jokes arrive in a style of laugh with me and not at me. My favourite episode is when Molly goes out on her first date with Mike and she's acting a bit crazy because of cold medicine and a little wine the expressions on his face are priceless. Mike Biggs (Gardell) is a Chicago police officer attempting to lose some weight and Molly Flynn (McCarthy) a fourth grade teacher wants to embrace her curves. They meet one evening at a weight loss support group and slowly a romance begins, they are so cute together in one episode she doesn't want to see him anymore and he wins her back by serenading her under her window. Reno Wilson as Carl Mike's partner is hilarious he too offers advice as does his grandmother portrayed by Cleo King.

This show is for anyone who feels comfortable and likes them self for who they are.

No Money Somehow Still Funny
23 March 2011
I saw this film a few years ago and wondered why would anyone hate this film and give it such a bad review?, Arthur 2 On The Rocks was a decent conclusion to the story of the most lovable millionaire.Liza Minnelli's performance as Linda was as usual terrific and comical, While watching the movie you get to feel for the main characters as they face being broke, trying to fix an apartment and have children. I loved Dudley Moore's role as Arthur as you see him finally facing life and most of all realizing that having money isn't everything.

Since we last saw Arthur (Moore) he was on the verge of an arranged marriage to socialite Susan Johnson (Sikes) however he chose to marry his true love and keep his money. It's a few years later Arthur & his lovely wife Linda (Minnelli) are as happy as ever. When it's discovered that Linda can't have children they plan to adopt with the help of Mrs. Canby (Bates) an adoption worker. However a dark cloud soon comes around.

Burt Johnson (Elliott) has seized control of the Bach company and as part of a revenge scheme forces Arthur's family to cut him off financially unless he divorces his wife and marries Susan. This film had taken a serious turn for Arthur as he finally decided to sober up and fight back to get his family and what belongs to him. I won't spoil the ending all I can tell you is that it's a happy one.

Strange, Hilarious, Charming
10 October 2010
This is one of my favourite films from the 1990's it's funny, bizarre and yet sweet at the same time, My Boyfriend's Back is different than most of the teen comedies of today. Mary Beth Hurt & Edward Herrman played the part of the parents to perfection, they supported their son and didn't seem frightened by his return from the grave.

Supporting cast members Traci Lind, Matthew Fox, Austin Pendleton, Paul Dooley & Phillip Seymour Hoffman all delivered great performances in this demented comedy.

Johnny Dingle (Lowery) has been in love with the prettiest girl in school Missy McCloud (Lind) for 12 years now with the senior prom coming up he's finally gonna get up the nerve to ask her to be his date. However her jock boyfriend Buck Van Patten (Fox) squashes his chances of that happening in an attempt to get her to go with him Johnny comes up with the craziest idea ever.

This film seemed bizarre, weird and yet romantic at the same time the main character played by Andrew Lowery showed the depth of his love for his girl by returning from the dead to have the dance he's been waiting for.

for anyone who loves the strange and the undead I recommend this delightful and demented comedy.

Funny, Intelligent & Very Well Done
8 September 2010
Kenneth Branagh is one of my favourite actors having seen some of his work in Dead Again & Mary Shelley's Frankenstein his performance was both clever and incredible. Helena Bonham Carter's portrayal of Jane a young woman dying from motor neurone disease was touching and heartfelt, you see the character go through the difficulty of the illness and sympathize with the situation.

When I saw this film I began to enjoy it after the first few minutes it was funny, heartbreaking and a little romantic. One of my favourite scenes was when Jane asked for help to lose her virginity, the expression on Richard's face was hilarious and yet stunned.

The Theory Of Flight is a charming story filled with enough comedy, drama and the right amount of romance to keep viewers entertained.

Still Not Quite Human (1992 TV Movie)
5/10
A Good Ending To The Series
6 September 2010
It's been 13 years since I saw the last film in the Not Quite Human series and to this day I feel that it was still a good movie to watch either on the weekend or for any day of the week.

Underwood's role as the lovable android Chip was still as clever as usual and very smart my only complaint was that the characters of Becky and his love interest Roberta were absent in this film.

This time around Chip and Dr. Carson (Thicke) attend a scientists convention afterwards his father is kidnapped by a millionaire and now with the help of a pick pocket thief , an android look alike of his dad and a female cop he must rescue him. This installment was witty, filled with suspense and the usual funny moments.

Still Not Quite Human was a perfectly simple ending to a good series I don't know if any kids out there would watch it but I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good laugh.

Not Quite Human II (1989 TV Movie)
6/10
Clever Entertainment For Everyone
6 September 2010
After seeing Not Quite Human I wondered about what adventures would lie ahead for Chip and his family my question was answered when Not Quite Human II came on to the screen. Most of the cast returned with some additions for an all new story, this movie was just as intelligent as the first and even funnier.

Since the events of the first film Chip (Underwood) is about to graduate from high school and wants to attend college once there he tries to socialize and understand the college life, one day he finds himself developing feelings for Roberta(Barbie) a young woman he saw during his first few days at school. It turns out that she too is an android, however the people who helped to create her want her back and now Chip will do anything it takes to protect the girl he has fallen in love with.

The scenes between Chip & Roberta were so sweet it was nice for him to meet someone who like him was learning to understand about humans and the world around them. One of my favourite scenes was when he was trying to save her before her power died out and professed his feelings . For fans of sci fi comedies I recommend this film to anyone who enjoys a good family oriented comedy.

Funny, Intelligent & Clever
6 September 2010
I haven't seen this film since I was 10 years old it used to play on family channel maybe once or twice it was original, clever and had a good plot throughout the movie.Dr. Jonas Carson (Thicke) has just completed his lifelong dream by creating an android (Underwood) to look like a normal 17 year old boy.

His daughter Becky (Lively) names him Chip, the doctor decides to send him to school to see how he'll interact with other kids his age and learn how to act human. However Carson's former boss Vogel (Bologna) has plans to kidnap the android and turn him into a military machine.

It was funny seeing Chip try to adapt to life as a normal teenager and the comical situations he gets into along the way but also proves himself to be nearly human when rescuing his dad and sister.

Not Quite Human was one of the best Disney movies I had ever seen as a kid and even today after seeing it after so many years it's still enjoyable.

A Truly Wonderful Film Filled With Fantasy & Heart
5 September 2010
This has been one of my favourite films since I was a kid The story of Milly & Eric was incredible seeing them beginning to learn from one another and then slowly fall in love was magic.

Jay Underwood is an amazing actor his performance showed how gifted he is, this movie was a lot better than the overly done up fantasy films that are shown today. I haven't seen it in years but it still remains as one of the best movies I enjoyed watching on t.v. the film had all the right ingredients, fantasy, tears, romance and above all fantastic visual effects. For anyone who wants to believe that anything's possible I recommend The Boy Who Could Fly you won't be disappointed.

A Change of Place (1994 TV Movie)

Charming & Simple
30 May 2010
A Change Of Place is one of the best films in the harlequin series it has everything romance, danger and gorgeous scenery all around. Rick Springfield's performance was just as good and very clever . Kim Jameson (Roth) is an art history student at a prominent university while her twin sister Kate now known as Dominique is a gorgeous fashion model at the house of Chambertin in Paris. When Kate's drinking goes out of control she begs her sister to take her place for the next four weeks while she's in rehab. As soon as Kim steps into her sister's world she meets some of her enemies including Jacques Arnaud whose out to blackmail and ruin Dominique's career and Jacqueline a rival model who wants to be on the magazine cover. In that time she develops an attraction to Phillip Clairmont (Springfield) a partner in the firm who begins to see and like the changes in Dominique's attitude.

What I like best film is the chemistry between the two main characters how an ordinary girl steps into a world of glamour, danger and intrigue and finds romance along the way

Heartbreakers (2001)
9/10
Smart , Stylish & Sexy
18 April 2010
I've watched Heartbreakers over ten times and it never fails to make me laugh at the crazy antics of the characters who made this movie enjoyable for viewers.Pairing up actresses Sigourney Weaver & Jennifer Love Hewitt to play the mother/daughter con team was genius they're incredibly talented and beautiful women, their performance was fantastic.

Gene Hackman's part as the tobacco tycoon was good of all his acting roles this was his funniest one yet. Ray Liotta portrayed the crook with a heart of gold who would do anything to win back the girl of his dreams Jason Lee as bar tender Jack was both genuine and sweet. One of my favorite scenes is when Page falls asleep on the bed and begins to cry it's then shown that she really loves this nice guy.

Max (Weaver) & Page (Hewitt) Conners are a sexy mother/daughter con artist team who make men fall in love then break their hearts and steal their cash. The latest con is on Dean Cummano (Liotta) a small crook and car shop owner, she marries him and then Page seduces him into a bad situation prompting Max to quickly divorce and take what he's got. Now that Page is older she's ready to set up on her own but her mother doesn't think she's ready . When the I.R.S. threatens to sue them for tax evasion and fraud Max begs her daughter to help her with one last con, The final candidate is William B. Tensy (Hackman) a tobacco company owner worth $20 million. However complications arise when Page sets her sights on Jack Withrowe (Lee) a bar tender whose property is worth $3 million dollars, she genuinely begins to fall in love with him while Max posing as Ulga Yevonova a Russian beauty is being followed by Dean who wants a second trip down the aisle. Filled with humor, laughter and heartwarming romance Heartbreakers is the ultimate hilarious romantic comedy for everyone.

My Favorite Movie In The American Pie Trilogy
17 April 2010
Of all the films in this series American Wedding has to be my all time favorite because it's funny , touching and romantic this movie never fails to please audiences of fans. In this final chapter the gang from East Great Falls High returns when Jim (Biggs) & Michelle (Hannigan) plan to get married. What would a wedding be without the outrageous and crude antics of the over sexed Steve Stifler (Scott) who throws the ultimate bachelor party and competes with the sophisticated and intelligent Finch (Thomas) for the affections of Michelle's younger sister Cadence (Jones).

The film made me laugh so much and it was surprising to see Stifler make up for his behaviour by replacing the flowers for the wedding and apologizing to the girl he likes.

I give this flick a 8/10

Ugly Betty (2006–2010)
10/10
Fabulous & Filled With Heart , Ugly Betty Rocks
8 April 2010
I've been a fan of Ugly Betty since it premiered on television back in 2006 it instantly became one of my favourite shows to watch it has everything drama, intrigue, romance, heartwarming moments and above all nonstop laughs.

What I enjoyed the most about the series was the transformation of the two main characters portrayed by America Ferrera & Eric Mabius. During the first season Daniel was a womanizing animal who slept with his assistants and models. However as the series progressed he matured and by the third season he married a beautiful teacher Molly (Lafleur) who died from cancer at the end of the season. Then the big surprise came at the end of the final season he realized he was in love with his assistant of four years Betty.

When she first arrived Betty didn't know much about fashion her appearance made her different from all of the attractive people she worked with. As time passed she slowly began to bloom in both her personal and professional life finally during season 4 off came the braces and with a new look and wardrobe she became even prettier than before also the friendship she shares with her boss helped.

Betty Suarez (Ferrera) an ambitious 22 year old woman finds herself in a whole new world when she is hired to be the assistant to Daniel Meade(Mabius)the newly installed editor & chief at Mode a very successful fashion magazine. She isn't as thin and attractive as her co workers but her determination and wonderful spirit wins over her boss as she guides him through the shark infested waters of glamour. Along the way they have to deal with their enemies such as Wilehmina Slater (Williams) the creative director who plots to get his job with the help of Marc St. James (Urie) her assistant and Amanda Tannen (Newton)the receptionist and sometime lover of Daniel who wants Betty's job.

Thrown into the fun is her family supportive father Ignacio (Plana), beautician sister Hilda (Ortiz) and nephew Justin (Indelicato) she does gain a friend in Christina McKinney (Jensen)a seamstress who fills her in on all the stuff that goes on in the office.

Bursting with comedic moments and heartwarming fun Ugly Betty is like a Cinderella story for every girl out there who wants to succeed and make their own dreams come true.

Arthur (1981)

Dudley Moore's Funniest Performance Ever
27 April 2008
After seeing Arthur on TV numerous times I laughed so hard Dudley Moore's role as Arthur a happy go luck drunken millionaire was hysterical but John Gielgud as his servant/ father figure Hobson was equally charming. I bought the DVD a few weeks ago and watched it, despite the passage of nearly 27 years it's still as enjoyable as it ever was Liza Minnelli's role as the love interest was fascinating the chemistry between the two was magic.

Arthur Bach, (Moore) is a spoiled drunken millionaire who has a bar bill that reads like the national debt he has no desire to grow up and enjoys acting like a child. His activities are supervised by his dry English butler Hobson (Gielgud) it appears that nobody really cares about Arthur except for him, Arthur's father (Barbour) offers an ultimatum if he doesn't marry the dreadful blonde socialite Susan Johnson (Eikenberry) in four weeks he'll cut off his son's inheritance of 750 million dollars.

However Arthur meets and falls in love with Linda Marolla (Minnelli)a young working class waitress and tie thief, now he faces a difficult decision marry for love or money. When Hobson dies Arthur finally grows up and breaks it off with Susan before the wedding, leaving him to keep both the money and his true love.

Arthur is a truly enchanting romantic comedy for for everyone

Alien Nation: Dark Horizon (1994 TV Movie)
8/10
An Excellent Sci Fi Film
18 April 2008
I just finished my dvds of Alien Nation Ultimate Movie Collection and Dark Horizon was a very good continuation of the popular series that got canceled in 1990.All of the original cast returned even though there were a few changes, five years had passed so scenes had to be re shot because old footage couldn't be used.

What made the film shine was the good buddy cop routine between Francisco and his human partner Sikes it was the basis for the show and the movie. Picking up right where the final episode Green Eyes left off the fate of the tenctonese race is put into danger when a ruthless overseer called Ahpossno (Patterson) has been sent to recover the 250,000 slaves that disappeared five years ago. Meanwhile Susan (Scarabelli), & Emily (Woodland), have been infected with a virus designed to kill the newcomer race there are some other issues to deal with in the movie.

Matt (Graham) had a falling out with George (Pierpoint) over his partner's promotion to detective 2 and his relationship with Cathy (Treas) is still having problems so he dates Lorraine Clark (Thompson). My favorite scenes were when Matt & George became friends again during a private moment in the hospital room where they sing a song to Susan who lays ill in her bed. Also after hearing some racist remarks from his human love interest he finally realizes that maybe a relationship with a tenctonese woman is possible.

for fans of sci- fi action Dark Horizon provides plenty of entertainment and thrills from beginning to end.

Alien Nation (1989–1990)
10/10
The Best Sci Fi Show I've Ever Seen
25 March 2008
Normally I'm not a fan of sci fi but something about this series changed my opinion Alien Nation is probably one of the best cop shows that was on TV. A slave ship carrying an alien race known as the Tenctonese crashed in the Mojave Desert near the city of Los Angeles five years ago. They have been bred to have great strength and quick intelligence, hard edged Officer Matt Sikes, played by Gary Graham is teamed up with a newcomer officer George Francisco (Pierpoint). Although the two mismatched cops have many differences and issues they have to work together thrown into the mix is George's family wife Susan (Scarabelli), young daughter Emily (Woodland) and teen aged son Buck (Six). Meanwhile Sikes must also deal with his budding romantic feelings for his neighbor and scientist Cathy Frankel (Treas) a gorgeous newcomer.

What I like most about the show is the humorous and difficult moments that are displayed when prejudice is shown towards the newcomers, also it's interesting to see a romantic relationship developing between a human male and a tenctonese female but what's a love story without the hurdles of interspecies romance.

For fans of sci fi classics Alien Nation is the number #1 show to watch.

Better Than The Rest
4 March 2008
Police Academy 2 Their First Assignment is filled with non stop laughs from start to finish honestly I enjoyed this movie more than it's sequels because after wards it got a bit boring. This time around we see Police Academy graduates Carey Mahoney (Guttenberg) and his friends Jones (Winslow), Hooks (Ramsey), Hightower (Smith), gun loving Tackleberry (Graf), and Fackler (Mahler) assigned to the 16th precinct to help stop a gang led by Zed (Goldthwait) that's terrorizing the neighborhood. Meanwhile Lieutenant Mauser (Metrano) does all he can to prevent the new recruits from succeeding if all fails he'll replace Pete Lassard (Hesseman) the brother of Commadant Lassard (Gaynes) as captain. So the group fights back with slapstick humor and crazy antics, along the way Tackleberry falls in love with fellow officer and also gun lover Kathleen Kirkland (Camp)It was so funny seeing Mahoney get revenge on Mauser by switching the shampoo with epoxy resin made me laugh so hard.

An Overall Nice Christmas Movie
7 November 2007
I saw this back in 2002 on VHS and it's still one of my favorite holiday films to watch it's funny, heartwarming and shows the true meaning of the Christmas spirit. Jim Carrey was hysterically funny in his portrayal of the Grinch,he's my favorite comedian Taylor Momsen was adorable yet sweet as Cindy Lou Who other supporting cast members Jeffrey Tambor, Christine Baranski, Molly Shannon and Bill Irwin delivered top notch performances.

At one point I wondered how could they take a half hour cartoon and turn it into a full length feature film it took a lot of hard work and dedication to create a piece of excellent movie magic. The set designs and use of props worked well , Anthony Hopkins did a fine job as the narrator of the story all in all this classic tale brought to life is a treat for kids and parents to watch around this holiday season.

Knocked Up (2007)
9/10
Very Funny
28 October 2007
I had just watched Knocked Up last night and it turned out to be the funniest and most original comedy I've seen since The 40 Year Old Virgin last year. Seth Rogen, was absolutely hilarious as Ben Stone a fun loving party animal who meets successful career girl Alison (Heigl) at a bar they have a drunken one night stand. Two months later she makes the discovery that she's pregnant and for the sake of the baby they try to make a relationship work. It was painfully funny watching a man go from being a party animal to a mature and reliable adult, there was a bit too much drug usage and more sex scenes than in the average comedy. Other than that the movie was pretty entertaining and sweet, seeing two people trying to be together despite the many differences each one has. This story has it's dramatic moments but turns out to be a truly heartwarming story.

A Wonderful Heartwarming Movie
25 October 2007
Jack Frost, is a great holiday flick to watch around the Christmas season Michael Keaton played the role of the main character pretty well it was amazingly good. This story is about a musician whose trying to make it big in the music business and provide a good life for his wife Gabby (Preston) & their son Charlie (Cross). However he has a tiny problem keeping promises and missing out on important events. Things take an unexpected turn when Jack dies in a car accident before Christmas, one year passes and Charlie still misses him very much. After building a snowman something mysterious happens the snowman comes to life with the spirit of his father in it. Now Jack has the chance to make up for lost time and bond more with his child before disappearing forever. My favorite scene is when Charlie & his mom see Jack's spirit for the last time before saying goodbye that made me cry a bit.

This movie is so wonderful and it has an important message it's never too late to spend more time with your family all in all it's a fantastic flick to watch with your family.
