Tedious and Pretentious
16 June 2022
Unlike similar US series, this British documentary series comes over as tedious and pretentious. It is unnecessarily repetitive and the experts 'insights' are generally rather obvious. The idea of the series isn't bad but the delivery is poor.

A movie that would make a great radio play!
27 March 2022
I don't know if this story started as a drama for the radio or as a podcast but it would really work much better if audio only. Most of the movie is a jog in the forest and all the action is delivered via iPhone. There are nice drone shots of the Ontario forest posing as New England but they add nothing to the drama.

Alistair Cooke once said, "I prefer radio to TV because the pictures are better". And in the age of 'Desperate Hour' he would be right.

US Police Documentary
22 December 2021
A lot of 1/10s here criticising this documentary as being one-sided. As with all documentaries it is about the pursuit of truth. In that regard this is generally a very good documentary dealing with the issue of whether there is a pattern of over reaction in the Cleveland Police. It uses two particular cases to illustrate. One, the killing of Tamir Rice, a 12 year old with a replica gun is quite well known, The excessive use of force and inability to de-escalate situations do seem to be weaknesses in some US police operations.
