Fire Twister (2015)
The synopsis is all wrong here
First of all the synopsis is wrong. In the synopsis it spoke of a mysterious orb, an oil rig on the ocean, and had an air of supernatural terror to it. The film never even touched on the ocean, it wasn't on a rig and it did not have much to do with oil. In fact the film started out with five friends placing an anti oil banner on what they thought was an oil drum. They find a bomb that nearly kills them which starts the fire twister. It wasn't oil, it was a super fuel that would replace oil, cleaner, longer lasting, and synthetically made. Again no mysterious orb. The five dupes, um friends, five friends, must join forces with the creator of this super fuel and find a way to destroy the fire twisters. It makes me think that the dupes, um friends, never watched that John Wayne movie about fire fighting oilmen, a very large explosion to kill the fueled fire, it took them nearly the entire movie to think what a firefighter would have determined before it hit a populated area. That is to say nothing about the attempt at bravado showing for the bad guys mercenaries (made me think of someone with down syndrome trying to act like what they saw on TV, funny to some degree but not to be taken seriously).
Earth to Echo (2014)
Strongly disliked
I was interested in the film because I saw a well put together preview and had no idea they were doing this crap where the entire story is told thru amateur cameraman footage. It you're going to spend the money to make a film even B rated silly films have steady cameramen. It wouldn't have been so bad if they only showed a few of the shots and then showed from an offset with a smooth professionalism but it really spoke of very-poor display.
It reminded me of another really good storyline completely ruined that i watched recently. I see no appeal whatsoever at paying to see a movie as poorly shown as this one was. Spend your money on something else or set aside an added amount for the headache medication you might want to have in advance because there's no way to watch this without one forming.
The storyline was decent, the acting seemed alright, and even some of the special effects were great, the producer that desired to let a three year old play with a camera should have his ability to produce film reduces to cartoons, much safer that way for us viewers.
I wouldn't mind a the film redone with smooth shots and professional presentation, but then again the film was almost predictable in its outcome and i felt like the entire thing was one sided in its plot, so hopefully in a decade or two when it's redone they'll expound on the events and present a more rounded story.
