Elements that make way for perfect Migraine
18 September 2022
  • Shiva ko dawre pad rahe hain
  • Scientist ka payal
  • Pyar sabse badi taqat hai
+ Every Alia bhatt lines end with Shiva

Brahmastra is a testament to the fact that bankable stars, million dollar VFX, Arijit singh songs can't ensure a satisfying cinematic experience. Brahmastra has extremely poor storytelling, misplced songs, mediocre acting, pathetic dialogues and awful direction at its best.

The movie has such lameass logic that you would crave to know what exactly took Ayan Mukherji 8 years!! I believe 1 yr to convince KJo to produce this crap and 7 yrs creating VFX for an abrupt idea left for audience to connect the dots.

You would literally watch a laser show for nearly 3 hours with Ranbir hamming around and Alia howling Shiva Shiva endlessly.

Don't watch this crap ever!! There are many movies with small budget but with good stories and actors available on Netflix, Hotstar, Prime Video.

Its Upto you To Judge What Went Wrong...Poor Writing or Bad Direction Or BOTH !!!
8 June 2013
When you have a hit movie and you want to make a sequel to it, I think the responsibility even gets bigger as you are drawing more anticipation and attention than the previous one. And that to when its comedy then it becomes even tougher to match up to the standard which the production team had set and the audience had liked about. The last installment of the Hangover series failed miserably from critical point of view due to this reason and I strongly feel Certain films should not run behind the rage of making sequels to a successful prequel. The sequel to the 2011 hit YPD, this Papa-Sons triple combo this time tries too hard to please the audience. Apart from a handful of humorous scenes rest of the film suffers from over the top writing, flawed screenplay and inclusion of some unnecessary characters and props (the orangutan). Due to the lacklustre screenplay the movie even feels too long. Actingwise Papa dharmendra's comic timing is good but again his amazing persona is trapped in a blemished screenplay resulting an undignified portrayal of a superstar and legend.Total fault of the writer and the director. Hands Down... Sunny Deol did what he could do and succeeds in certain scenes. But the disappointing element was of Bobby who hardly impresses with his acting or comic timing. A versatile actor like Bobby who is already trapped in a string of flops had nothing to do and such careless is the writing and unfunny the dialogues are I thought the character was never meant for bobby deol.

The two girls shows some promise particularly Neha Sharma and Kristina Akheeva looks breathtakingly beautiful but needs to brush up her acting skills.

Anupam Kher is the biggest mistake of the movie and he is there to give you a migraine. Sir, Are you running out of movies?? Why did you say yes to a role which never holds the stance of your name or even image.

Perhaps the only saving grace of the movie is its music which has already hit the chartbusters. Deols must thank the Music directors for keeping the chances of the movie at the box office alive despite so many faults and flaws visible all over it.

To wrap up my view I would say If you are a die hard fan of the deols and love the melody of YPD2, then go for it. Otherwise You can wait for the World Television Premier which I don't think will take much longer.

Nothing New...But Hey !!! You cannot afford to loose IRON MAN !!!
27 April 2013
So the favorite super hero of millions Iron Man and its third installment arrived at the theaters with full swing and of course this time in a much grand canvas. With the gigantic production cost Marvel pictures have left no stone unturned in any of the departments say it casting, acting, special effects or the marketing. To start with, the famous sense of humor of Mr. Tony Stark this time forms a combo with the true emotions and finally Miss Pepper Potts finds the caring, sharing side of Mr.Stark for her. The chemistry between the couple has been the trade mark of the franchisee, though this time Mr. Shane Black with the director's hat emphasized on the romantic side of the super hero. Terrorism at the heart with the commingle of American politics, this time the baddie Mandarin reaches the secure zone of WHITE HOUSE and his demand for a call from the Prez and the resulting betrayal and Miss Pepper falling from 200 ft height was perhaps the two shocking moment that turned the reel world and the real world silent for a while. The DNA Coding and the resulting fire power which has been used as the lethal weapon by Mr.Mandarin stands believable but again somewhat repetitive and falls into the category of the same age old Hollywood action formula of mutation and desolation. The audience will definitely be spellbound by the special effects but somehow the movie wrapped up being an action-romantic outing. The revelation of Mr. Ben Kingsley as the fake Mandarin was a little earlier and that is the only loop hole in the screenplay that I felt. Overall the movie is a full on entertainer and all the checklists of a super hero movie is ticked.Children gonna love it, adults gonna like it and we poor reviewers like it but with some Ifs and buts.. Eight Cheers for the movie and one more for Miss Pepper's amazing fight scene at the climax..Go For It !!!

Ek Thi Daayan (2013)

A Spine chilling Horror...Must Watch !!!
20 April 2013
When Vishal Bharadwaj plays with the creative portion and Ekta Kapoor involved in the feasibility part, you can trust the project and Ek thi Daayan is definitely a genuine treat to the horror movie lovers. An innovative attempt to magnify the folklore witch thing which we've heard in our childhood, director Kannan Iyer brings the envisioned image of witch into a cinematic intelligence.

The movie revolves around a famous magician named "BOBO" being chased by a witch and Emraan Hasmi plays the character with the utmost aura and made the character quite believable.Though the young bobo played by Vishesh Tiwary deserves a double thumbs up for his performance.

The Daayans of the movie have done a commendable job. Konkona Sen Sharma has done an outstanding job and again proves when it comes to acting she leaves no stone unturned to make the character real. Her eyes portrays the thirst and wicked intentions perfectly and overshadows the other two leading ladies. Huma Qureshi looks gorgeous and has done an earnest effort as Emraan Hasmi's love interest and yes in the climax scene she does show her acting talent and justified why she is one of the most sought after actress after a successful outing in her debut Gangs of Wasseypur. Perhaps the only flaw in the movie was Kalki Koechlin's non substantial presence where she is just there to keep audience more guessing and make them more confused. One beautiful song "Yaaram" to her credit, Kalki is completely wasted in the movie and had very little scope though she is a talented actress.

From technical point of view, cinematography is good and the special effects could have been more polished and real.Particularly the climax scene can raise some eyebrows and it feels like a stereotype ending, but the climax definitely forces the audience to clap.

Overall the movie was good and very much watchable for its fine direction and some good acting by the lead actors. The director leaves a sign of an EK THI DAAYAN 2 and girls are you going with Braided hair??? Then don't complain if anyone calls you a "DAYAN".

Aatma (2013)

When High Expectation Leads To A Mere Disappointment
1 April 2013
The one and only thing that snaffled my mind about AATMA was the unusual pairing of Nawajuddin Siddique and Bipasha Basu. Nawajuddin has proved his mettle as an actor in Kahaani, Talaash, Gangs of Wasseypur etc and his name in a horror movie as the lead actor with gradually improving Bipasha has raised unbound curiosity in my mind.Being a fan of horror and psychological thriller genre i was sure of a meatier story, chilling sound effects and tricky special effects. But unfortunately three of the ingredients were missing and even powerful acting of the two lead actors could n't save the movie from being an ordinary attempt by the Director Suparn Verma who shot to fame with "PANKH"- A critically acclaimed movie. After half an hour the story falls into the flat zone of a normal Hindi horror movie and except few scenes that wowed in terms of special effect nothing scary was there. The biggest fault of the product is it lacks genuine horror or scary moments and even though the production house promoted it as a psychological thriller, it doesn't also justify the same. Acting wise Both Nawaj and Bipasha have done their level best with cute Doyel Dhawan adding some so cute type gestures, lack of scary moments in this flick failed this most awaited flick in terms of business and critical acclaim. The movie could have been way better and if you are a die hard fan of the genre and the actors, then go for it.Otherwise skip it and have a cup of coffee at the coffee shop. At least the INGREDIENTS are properly MIXED there.

Himmatwala (2013)

Himmatwala is not worth a ticket.
29 March 2013
I clearly remember when I first saw the trailer of Himmatwala and at the end of it written A Sajid Khan Entertainer, I was sure that another trash from sajid's kitty is going to see the daylight and this time I promised not to watch the movie in theater at least. Then finally i watched it in my Laptop and i was so happy that Sajid khan didn't prove me wrong. Each and every scene and the nuances of each character's depiction was so silly, unfunny and annoying that i completed the movie within 1 hr and 10 mins. The shocking thing was how could an actor like Ajay Devgn's caliber sign a nonsense movie like this? just for the sake of 100 Cr moolah that could make a hat trick other two being Bol Bachchan and SOS. Tamannah, please go back to south and if Trisha fails to grab a position in Bollywood, then of course you can't. Again as there are so many other bimbos flying high with success with khans without knowing acting then chances to sizzle on bollywood screen gets higher courtesy Sajid Khan.Sorry Jacqueline Fernandez. And yes Sajid, as you hate critics, so let me tell you am no critic and love Hindi films but know the difference between good and bad.And yes in a recent reality show where you were one of the judges, you were saying repeatedly " Your performance is like Sajid Khan's Blockbusters" gone horribly wrong at least from the multiplex collections of Himmatwala. And Multiplex audiences are more of a class. Rest You can think yourself..Please No Himmatwala 2....EARNEST REQUEST!!!
