Chimp Empire (2023)
Just story telling on to random video captures
There is nothing special about this documentary. It is just story telling for some shots of chimpanzees.
The narrator talks about a war but it is just a couple of chimps wandering around. They could be paying a game according to the video shown. There is hunting scene which chimps hunt a monkey but we can't see anything but just a scene where chimps share the meat after the action. How does this make sense?
Anyone in a zoo can film these kinds short ordinary videos of chimps and narrates stories about them.
There are hundreds of documentaries or videos on Youtube better than this show. Once again I promise I will not watch any documentaries on Netflix again.
Annie Hall (1977)
4 things that I didn't like about this movie.
A lot of reviews here already include how good this film is. I agree mostly that this is one of the movies that every film-lover should watch at least one.
I want to add here the reasons what I didn't like about this movie:
1-) Woody Allen's acting is not good. He is exaggerating his act. While he is trying to act natural, he is far from convincing the audience for his role. I don't know what happened in 1978 Oscar nominee discussions but his nomination for Best Actor is ridiculous.
2-) Alvy Singer is a disturbingly wordy character. He never stops talking and shaking his head.
3-) On the other hand, Diane Keaton is too dull for the Annie Hall character. She is supposed to be a lively, outgoing, curious...character but Diane Keaton fails to reflect these feelings to the audience.
4-) Sub characters are too weak. They have minimum screen times. I think it would be better to detail more the other characters like. Rob, Allison,Tony Lacey and even Pam.
Raising Arizona (1987)
Impressive
Drama, comedy, thriller, fantasy, well acting, well scenario surprising.
I am very surprised having watched that kind of a movie including some of the best actors on earth. It could easily be spoiled with some bad acting but surprisingly, everything goes well and the movie keeps its pace for 2 hours.
Surprise final as well..As a father, it impressed me deeply by its end.
Thank you Coen Brothers.
C'era una volta il West (1968)
A Good Story, Well Written and Directed
What I did not like about this film is the "Harmonica" character. His way of acting is not realistic and usually repulsive. The scenes he is playing the harmonica have no point at all probably because: Charles Bronson's poor acting or the unrealistic sound coming from the instrument. I do not enjoy watching characters seem to be knowing everything and omnipotent or too heroic, in other words.
Sergio Leone is well at reflecting the atmosphere of times and and locations of his films to audience. He does it by making us hear the sounds nearby and by slow- motion filming for minutes and minutes mostly in the beginning of the films. Remember the 10 minutes telephone ring at the beginning of the 'Once Upon a Time in America' and now the the sound of winds, signboards and the fly. I enjoy it.
I like the story of a family founding a new town and a station at all. 'Cheyenne', Jason Robards is the most colorful character traveling on the thin line of goodness and evilness. Mrs. McBain by Claudia Cardinale is also well played and making us wonder and think what a lonely woman can do after losing his future family. Is she that lonely to sleep with her family's murderer?
I did not know Henry Fonda up to this film but I understand that Leone has made a big surprise to the fans by making Fonda a bad character for the first time he appears on the films.
A must watch movie especially for Leone and Western lovers!
