8989 Redstone (2016)
Almost Great
This was a fun ride. Love watching idiots get frustrated and proven wrong over and over again. " Buddha" was adorable and awesome. The characters were believable and their interactions illustrated the history among them, which just makes my point below all the more frustrating.
The ending ruined it, totally, without question. Some twists are fun. "This was all a dream" is NEVER one of them. It's stupid and unfulfilling and always ruins the movie. Why bother watching a movie that was all a dream? It's just a giant middle-finger to the audience. It's not creative. If you can't think up a twist that makes sense, then don't put a twist in! The movie had a great ending on the beach. Should have faded to black there.
If you watch this movie, just stop it when Daryl gets to the beach. Nothing happens after that worth watching.
Death Camp (2022)
What?
The movie has a "so bad it's good" quality for most of it.. I laughed a lot at the delivery and the acting.
But then, at the end... all the main characters just die off screen, narrated by some dude who just appears a few minutes before, and then there's some stupid epilogue and it just ends.
It's like they ran out of time and just phoned in the ending. Made me have major sad face. Was gonna give it two or three stars for comedic value, but nope. One star for the ending. They needed to spend the time to actually kill the kids off one by one instead of that rushed ending, and that man and his kids were superfluous.
American Insurrection (2021)
Needs a watch.
Realistic story that provides a warning that should be heeded.
This is the most accurate depiction of a dystopia I've seen.
Doesn't surprise me in the slightest that right wingers don't want people to see them as they truely are.
The Poltergeist Diaries (2021)
Enjoyable, but...
I think the presence of more well-known actors ruins the immersion of a found-footage style movie. It had me absorbed... then Eric Roberts shows up and ruins the suspension of disbelief. Took me right out of the narrative. After that, it got better and I was able to get back into it, but would have been better without that 'cameo.'
The Last Inn (2021)
Leave Brittany alone!
Seriously, aside from the absolutely horrible dialogue and wooden acting, the story and creepy visuals are actually pretty good.
Pretend it's stage play, and just enjoy it.
The Tomorrow War (2021)
Reduces the IQ of the Audience by 10 points.
The plot is...
1. Worse than any other time travel move.
2. worse than any other alien invasion movie.
3. worse than any other action movie.
None of the decisions made by anyone in this movie make any rational sense.
That is all.
The Midnight Sky (2020)
Mostly Enjoyable
I liked it, but there were definitely some logial issues.
1. Why evacuate FROM the relative safety of the Observatory, when they knew Augustine would survive everyone else by staying there?
2. Why did the computer say the ship was in range, when the observatory antenna wasn't strong enough? That would mean the ship was NOT in range of the equipment conncted to that conputer.
3. Why would a weather station have a stronger antenna than an observatory?
The movie's plot hinges on those three things, which don't make sense, plus the massive coincidence of the ship comms going out just when they make contact with Augustine.
Reality Z (2020)
It's good to a point.
Enjoyable homage to Dead Set, with some creative changes. Though, after episode 7, it basically turns into another boring "human VS human" zombie cliche.
A.I. Rising (2018)
Disgusting
Unlikable protagonist. Got as far as the rape scene, turned it off.
30 Miles from Nowhere (2018)
Ending ruins the whole movie.
I was having fun watching it, but that very last scene ruined it.
