A lie based on a true story.

I rented this movie under a romantic category. It was described as a thriller in the preview. What a joke. It was neither romantic or a thriller and was filled with unnecessary F-bombs. The only redeeming value was that it made me look up the facts on the real story. Don't waste your time or money.

A Really Bad Movie
13 January 2018
Warning: Spoilers
It was not funny and not very romantic. Reese has clearly dropped to the B list of ladies or she would not have settled for this trash. So you are a 40-year-old woman in the movie with two children and you cannot say no to repeatedly being seduced by a 27-year-old living in your own home, while you are married? Of course, they make the married man look like a dolt, so she decides she does not want to be married rather than work on the marriage. The movie is not even funny. Some movies are bad but still funny. This is not one of those.

Very Moving
23 January 2006
No, it did not have many of the plot twists of some movies today. But it was based on a true story, something most of my favorite movies have been. Plus you are dealing with people who have honest, straightforward lives (the missionaries). Their "yes" is "yes", and "no" is "no". I imagine that is boring in the imagination of viewers who are used to films where there are no "good" guys.

The interesting changes occurred in the transformation of the native people. The actors did a good job of making you feel their emotions.

How could you not be moved with the line "They're not ready for heaven, yet"? (I won't spoil the plot for those who have not seen it).

I have to admit I have an sentimental tie because of growing up in a church that supported missions, and from hearing the stories about the men. The untold stories about the men other than Nate Saint are very compelling, as are the stories of the women they left behind.

Chad Allen did a nice job. It was refreshing to see him do well since the days of "Dr. Quinn".

Also untold was the true story of one of the natives baptizing the grandchild of one of the missionaries he killed.

I was moved by the story. No, it did not tell the full story of the Gospel, but perhaps it will open the door for someone to hear it. It was much better than almost all the trash out there that will not help anyone but the movie producers

Silent Night (2002 TV Movie)

A great story. A must see for everyone!

Linda Hamilton's performance was wonderful! The story was great, and the acting was very good. If you want to be "touched", and not just entertained, this a great movie. The tone is warm and serious, but not without a few light-hearted moments. The setting is World War II, so it is not your normal Christmas movie, but it is well worth watching.

I enjoyed Linda Hamilton in the Terminator movies, but she shows a more serious side in Silent Night. I was blown away by the convincing German accent and acting skills. She shows that she is more than an action lady (although she certainly has left a legacy in the first two Terminator movies).
