Fun little movie about finding whats important in life.
22 April 2021
The movie is pretty, a small little gem that will make you feel good in the end.

Over the course of the film we follow Jeff a 30 year old man who still lives at home and his family, they are all experiencing some hardship in some kind of way and are challenged in the movie to try to work it out, all the plots are down to earth things we all more or less can identify with, although Jeff might have some deeper issues that not imminent seem as ordinary, the characters are portrayed well without being cliché and we can connect and root for them.

In the movie we see Jeff chase purpose and meaning to his existence, and I like how it's done, down to earth in a pace we can all sit and relax to unfurl, it's a journey for them all figuring out what's important in their life. The movie doesn't come off as preachy trying to force a solution or life lesson down our throat as some similar movies in the genre does, which is probably one of the reasons i gave it such a high score, it's just something you can sit down and watch and feel good in the end.

Good entertainment characters you can connect with not rushed and fast paced, while not being too long or slow either.

Solid movie.

Star Trek: Picard (2020–2023)

Picard same or new?
24 January 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Disclaimer only watched first episode.

Picard is back in "action" he might be old and retired, which is what this show is about, it's different from most of the other star trek shows where we follow a captain or inspiring person in star fleet doing heroic deeds exploring, combating new menaces almost every episode, here we follow a hearthwarming man in his old age, trying to figure out his place in the universe. In many of the shows we have seen admirals, they call the shots, what does retirement look like? picard always been rational and maybe more humane towards other species or entities then any of the other show captains, this is what the show is about, we are tossed into the story with a retired picard. stuff has happened, star fleet is not the same anymore, is Picard? time will tell.

I would say the script is not bad yet not great either, but why picard cares about the story that unfolds is due to his nature, as long as you can understand and accept the premise, for why the main character do what he does, I can live with bad writing. I like how the show gives you so many flashbacks and memories of shows you have watched before, this I liked in the trailer, and was delivered in first episode

to sum up Picard always been a favourite for me, him being frail and not doing action as much, does not take away anything from his character, what i loved about him was always his compassion and human side, i would have wished though they would not have made him this frail, but it all comes to how they will use it later on, and if we get more backstory, as if it will be of more concern for me

Lost in Space: Impact (2018)
Season 1, Episode 1

Poor story, ok effects, not getting hooked
13 October 2019
So you start of with getting thrown into the story, so far so good, the story progresses slowly and you think, ok it's a family they try to survive something, you get the ominous flashbacks thrown in, and after that the plot and story takes the one weird and hard to believe turn, after another.

the science is wrong, the characters are played decent by the actors, but it cannot stray from that it is really hard to swallow their almost savant like abilities, when you grasp their dynamics as a group, through the first episode I was catching myself multiple times thinking "what? how does that work" not because as we usually in sci-fi get introduced to somewhat complicated terms and equipment, but because it is so stupid and untrostworthy.

the one thing i did like though was that the characters between one and another shows some actually likeable features, and I actually at times cared about the characters, even though the writers did their best to make them flawed and almost unlikeable on purpose. The end scenes in the pilot also made me slightly curious

I am most likely not gonna watch more than the pilot, the writing and story is so poor and bad that I at the moment haven't got time to invest, and give it a second chance. More then once I have been lured into a show, by friends saying it will get better after a few episodes/seasons, but this I am afraid, for me personally, is beyond salvation, which is a shame seeing it already have screen time in earlier adaptations

DC's Legends of Tomorrow: Invasion! (2016)
Season 2, Episode 7

confusing and anoying IF you haven't watched the other shows
4 August 2019
This episode is so frustrating and it's the best showcase of what's wrong with alot of shows that do crossovers in todays "cinematic universes" When i watched i felt I must have missed something which i knew was impossible because i literally had binge watched the season 1 and 2 over last few days, so i thought they must have uploaded it wrong on netflix. But i watched the episode, and fairly enjoyed it, but legends is the only DC show i have watched, and All that happened this episode I was missing out on so much, with all the crossover heroes and plotlines.

why do they keep doing this to us, I just want to watch my show and not have to watch season x from 1 show + season y from another show to understand whats going on. I got flashbacks to when i watched latest season of star trek: discovery where we saw a character (in the recap) from an episode which was companion episodes not included in the seasons uploaded to the streaming service. All non hardcore fans or viewers will think, what's this? what happened? did i miss something?

The shows today (especially sci-fi and hero that happen in their own universes) asume we like all of their shows and have watched it all, and not only that but watched it in their correct timeline (if ongoing shows happen simultanious) and aparently also that we look up and read anything on media to find whatever are not published on the big streaming services.

Even though I totally hate this disregard for their viewers I will not tank the episode because, taken the bad away it's still an enjoyable legends characters episode

data doesn't lie, who has our data?
26 July 2019
This Movie tells us stuff, we all have a basic knowledge about, all our travel on big social media are tracked and collected as data, but the question is who will have access to these data?

It's borderline conspiracy theory, but also true facts, who decides what is right, We all used to say the victors write history, but todays age where all info is available online and it is easy to push a button to like someone post online. Is the victor those with most follows or likes?

We have all heard stories, and when stories comes in 2 versions which one do we believe is the truth? this movie tries to follow different persons on a quest to find out what happened, when trillion dollar companies bought peoples personal information, obtained through platforms that are used by a huge portion of the worlds popultaion, and what are our rights when we click that EULA.

The movie has a great message, are we even aware whats going on?, and how we are manipulated online?, the bottomline is nothing is free in this world, and something we value as free, like our oppinions on matters and our advice or suggestions to other people, that we share online, companies or people with different agendas are willing to pay A lot of money for.

data is data, it doesn't lie, who has our data? and more importantly can they make us do stuff against our own better judgement with algoritms specified with purpose to let us easier see their point of view online. you decide after watching the movie

Flat earth facts vs belief?
20 February 2019
It's a good documentary where it let us the viewers see passionate souls fight for their belief in the earth is flat, no matter what you yourself believe we see the constant struggle they fight to not only disprove the science that claims the earth is a globe, but also try find scientific proofs that the earth is flat. It is somewhat a skeptic view on the persons fighting for flat earth, but it is kinda hard not to, most of the people we see has a lot of conspiratory views on stuff besides the flat earth, and we see from the other side of the struggle scientist/ behavioral experts try to explain why the movement is growing.

Keep your mind open, make your own decision on the matter, Imo it is a weird struggle, where both sides wont budge, and that view hasn't changed after watching this documentary, their passionate people and all the scientists in this documentary are not the typical we know better that we usually hear in the debate, their acknowledging the other side as genuine people and are emphatic even though they have opposite views.

It's a view on earth that has a lot of personal sacrifices, which I would have loved to be more showed in the documentary.

and last Is the earth flat or a globe? I let it be op to you to decide what to believe

The Originals (2013–2018)
6/10
Supernatural version of GoT
8 February 2019
Warning: Spoilers
If you liked Game of thrones and any kind of vampires/werewolfes or witches this will probably be right up your alley.

Set in modern New Orleans we follow some of the Originals (vampires) and a racial war between witches/vampires and werewolves, with humans in between, with just as many intrigues as in game of thrones and new plot twists every new episode, there are characters we will love and some we will love to hate, in almost every faction. yes it all sounds good, but all the intrigue/new alliances old hatred is getting overwhelming all the time, the characters are actually well written and when they switch sides it sounds reasonable that their true to their character, but it just feel too easy to fill in a 100 year old backstory and find a specific moment between two allies that will stir up new hatred.

it's a show I don't know where to place. I like it, but there is something off, and i cannot place my finger on it, what they Do manage though is not forgetting their plot lines, they just add too many new ones constantly, and even though it's not hard to follow up on, and see coming, I personally get tired (mentally) constantly have to be thrown in a new direction, I can't binge watch it, because i need to keep focused, just like with Game of thrones. But I cannot say no to a new episode, it's captivating and definitely a watch worth.

Solid story, ok effects, acting also nothing to complain, a good take on "supernatural" show. If it weren't because after a few episodes I get exhausted watching it I would probably rate it higher by a solid 2 points. 6/10

Breaking Wind (2012)

this movie is awful, even for a spoof
29 May 2018
I have a policy about always watch a movie to the end, no matter what, until this movie I only strayed away from that twice this was my third. Sometimes you watch a movie and says wow this is bad, but still enjoyable to watch somehow, this is not such a movie, i know a spoof is supposed to make fun of a movie (or more movies) and they are not meant to be taken serious, but all the gags and "fun" stuff in this movie wasn't even trying to make you laugh, most movies have something redeemable, i have thought really hard about trying to find something good, I just can't they even tried pulling in danny Trejo, I love the guy, I find him overused he gets way to many "bad" parts in movies, and this one is the worst I've ever seen him in, the writing is so poor in general in this movie, the acting isn't as bad as in "The room" bad acting, its just soulless and bland, none of the characters were anything you would care about, even having characters evil and not lovable makes you kind off have feelings for them, even though bad feelings, none of these had that. The only one i loved was Emma Bell's character, all those feeling she had in that movie (40 mins i could stand before i had to give in) was my feelings exact.

All in all me giving a 1 rating doesn't automatically mean the movie isn't enjoyable to watch, even bad movies can give a good time, this wasn't any of those times, but i guess watching something this bad makes you really appreciate watching something good, I just don't hope I'm so damaged that my ratings will be pulled up 1 star for the next few movies i watch, because they are better then this one.

Star Trek: Discovery (2017–2024)

start of bad gets little better, far from star trek we know
22 November 2017
Warning: Spoilers
I am huge sci-fi fan, and also star trek fan, gave this a shot after I didn't give enterprise a chance, watched the rest of the shows. When you as a director/writer delve into a universe so rich in cultural esteem as Star trek is, you will have to show respect of previous incarnations of the show, this I feel is lacking there off, it is star trek but other then the "names, and roughly designs of the ships" and the link to a few on going characters in the time line, it is something totally different.

Klingon in a preverse not really Klingon more like the Klingons in the new movies canon, a lot of new species in the crew we never heard of, technology that makes the technology in every other star trek series seem obsolete (can't say if enterprise too as i didn't give it a chance, maybe i should??)

also the Michael Burnham character, just seems irritating, can't really connect to her, she seems weirdly out of place in the show.

the only thing i can think of after watching 1. season is, how are they gonna smooth this into the universe in a canon way??? so many inconsistencies, kinda fear it being something similar to Voyager Course:oblivion, that makes you second guess almost everything you watched the last xx episodes and try to put everything together in your head.

The Good Wife: Mind's Eye (2015)
Season 6, Episode 14

is this the good wife?
10 November 2017
This is the only episode of the good wife i have seen, turned on TV and saw it playing, found out it was the good wife and it spiked my curiosity, because i have heard so many talk about it and wanted to know what the fuzz was about.

5 minutes in i was like what the??? is this how the show runs? it is really really something different in all the bad ways imaginable and I immediately tried to find out what the episodes name was, I would hardly imagine the good wife having such appeal if it be running 6+ seasons like this, or people just be weird.

after reading other peoples reviews I kinda got more calm seeing as this is totally different from rest of show, but for my sake the damage is done, I'm not touching this show with a ten foot pole.

If people watch this as their first episode, they either get scarred away for life (like me) or maybe get really disappointed in the show in general if they find this the best thing that happened on television.

Im not gonna rate the good wife (as a show) as this is the only episode i been watching, so it wouldn't be fair to base it on this, but this episode of a show that has such good esteem just HAD to get a review, with a WARNING! for people not to watch as first episode of the good wife, it will ruin you
