Case (2015– )

Amazing, but unsure how to see next series with English subtitles
27 February 2017
This series is amazing. There are so many twists and turns to the plot, where I think I know who's responsible, until I suspect another who I wouldn't have guessed. I would never have expected such a clever crime drama from a country with one of the lowest crime rates. I'm a woman and I don't know what other reviewer was ranting on about it being misogynistic. It had some unpleasant scenes regarding abuse, drug use, prstitution, pimps, but it was just a story about unfortunate people. If anything it gives a warning against young girls getting involved in abusive people and situations. Only thing is it left a few unanswered questions, so seems to be the start of another series, but I'm unsure how to find out if I can watch with English subtitles. I only found out about Case because the first programme was on Channel 4 part of Walter Presents, and then the rest online. Like the Icelandic comedy Næturvaktin/The Night Shift, I don't have a clue how I can watch again with English subtitles since BBC stopped showing on their website.

The Jackal (1997)
4/10
Couldn't stop being annoyed at disservice to original.
23 February 2015
Original film had an intelligent story line, and suspense, with brilliant acting. Only decent actors in this were Richard Gere and Sidney, even though Gere's character seemed to be propaganda for a terrorist organisation. Remember how president Bush said if any person in any country has anything to do with terrorism in any form, and that country doesn't act against those people, then the whole country is against the USA? That part of the film shows how hypocritical the USA was before 9/11.

Apart from that, Bruce ran around shooting like one of his mindless action characters in other films. I actually got bored half way through and turned over for a while because it seemed to lose all form of storyline, until deciding to give it another chance to watch the rest. Reenactment of the original film scene where he was pretending to be gay to hide out at another gay man's house became a little better, but it didn't improve much.

Then I read a review on here about how another person approached it as a parody, which made it actually funny and I could see their point.

Most unrealistic film I've ever watched.
10 January 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Before I started watching I thought how unrealistic, after 5 years of marriage they would have at least been to each others work at least once, met work friends, talked about work, seen pay details, or had a work party. Part of being married is having somebody to come home to and talk about your day. I thought maybe the film would explain my concerns, but it made them even worse. It's the most unrealistic film I ever watched. The shoot out in the house was ridiculous, two supposedly successful assassins couldn't manage to kill each other in their own house, and then when there's a later attempt on both of them in their own house, neither of them had discovered each others stash of weapons in unlocked boxes in their basement.
