GREAT Little Irish Gem! Song of the Sea meets Reality.
10 August 2021
I love the cast and the story in this movie. Colin Farrell is never afraid to take on roles in odd little films like Lobster and Killing of the Sacred Dear. The cast is outstanding and I dont think you should miss this one. Rich.

A Gem of a Film Unearthed in The Dig......Not to be missed
31 January 2021
I feel so lucky to have found this beautiful slice of life film on Netflix. The true story from a book that will go on my list is touching and full of rich characters. These people are brought back to life by an astounding cast. These days where we are now accustomed to a series of episode to bring out the richness of the characters, this small movie does it so well in just under two hours. It is a marvel not to be missed.

Peninsula (2020)

Forget the ratings Peninsula delivers on all levels as a great follow up to Train to Busan one of the best Zombie movies of all time
27 November 2020
Look I am not a big fan of the Zombie movies or series.. Only Train to Busan and 28 Days later go on my list of best 100 movies of all time. So while I had high hopes my expectations where not high. But director Sang-ho Yeon has delivered a suspenseful emotion filled action packed thriller. It delivers on all levels. I was on the edge of my seat and cared aboutall the main characters. It is a very different movie than Train to Busan with more action but he is able to keep the key element that made that movie stand out Emotion. Don't miss this one if you loved Busan. Rich

Amy Adams Shines as usual in a Movie. A True American story that is very Watchable but not Oscar Contender
24 November 2020
I did not read the book but I think that it must be better with more time to develop the major characters. The Flashbacks to the main character's teen years clearly are the scenes that stand out in the Movie. Some of the Plot seems forced on the viewer and I did not feel for the characters much or care what happed to them. I blame Ron Howard direction for this fault. That said. the performances by two great actresses make this a must watch on any list. Amy Adams was not afraid to look less than enchanting in another fine performances. Give it a shot. Rich

A Great Film But!
16 October 2020
OK. As someone who lived through the events and protested an unjust war. I enjoyed this slice of History. It was a fine film that contained great dialog and performances. But it was so one sided to the Left that I think it hurt the finished product. IT also did not have enough time to develop so many complicated characters. It was a topic that begged for a mini series. That said I enjoyed every minute and wanted more. It is a must watch. Many reviews are talking about this being so relevant today. I disagree strongly. Sorry I do not see the current BLM protests on the same level as the anti war protests of the sixties. Everyone should follow it up with some other works. Rich

This Series works at every level. Not a fan of horror and that is not what this work is at it's heart. You feel for every character in this play of Life Death and Beyond! Great Story - Acting - Cinematic Feel - Relationships etc. I loved this series give it a try. Rich

Classic Work about an old story from 80's still so relevant today. Dont Miss This one!
10 October 2020
I do not review a lot of titles. But Wild Wild Country works on so many levels. You have read the plot. While watching you may take the side of the Guru - His Followers - The Oregon Locals - Police - The Politicians - The Government - or not be so sure. I watched in one day, As a news junkie I do not know how I missed this story back then but was glad I did so as to be able to see this covered as it unfolded without Knowing the outcome. Great live footage and interviews with the major participants guide you through the events, events that can happen any day in the USA under the present climate of pending Civil War. Rich

Hanna Season 2 Looks very promising. Worthy of Binge watch
6 July 2020
Big fan of the Movie and I enjoyed the first season of the series. The first season as good as it was mainly followed and expanded the events of the movie. While this worked I think the new plot and characters of the second season is headed in a very positive direction and is required viewing for any Hanna fan..While no one is Saoirse Ronan the lead is well cast in this series. I enjoy the pace which does not rush the story and is building the new characters. I had only one issue so far while not giving away spoilers. I hate when some one shows up just in the nick of time in any film. While sometimes required it still bothers me. I already care about many of the characters and always care about Hanna's future. I think the movie was made for an extended story line like this. Give it a shot if you are a Hanna fan or just like coming of age stories that are very different. Rich.

Do Not Miss this Movie. Wonderful satire from great writer of Watchman and The Leftovers.
15 June 2020
Have no idea why this movie took so much Flak. It should have been listed as a Dark Comedy. The writing is so spot on you have to laugh with each passing Killing. Give it a Shot and you will not regret this equal opportunity knock on the left and right during these troubled times.

Must see for Sci-fi fans of Black Mirror. Smart Moving Human Story
15 April 2020
Hi Thin of Black Mirror but with recurring characters. Great Cast . Phillip Glass Music. It has a slow pace which fits the plot and in some was predictable which I thin is on purpose to add to it's unpredictable scenes. There is one episode that was not up to par with the rest. The last and best HOME was directed by Jodie Foster. It is very dark which I love even in these dark times. Give it a shot

Mckenna Grace Shines in well Cast offbeat touching but fun Film!
19 January 2020
I did not think I would love this movie. I watched it because I loved the peformance of Mckenna Grace in the movie Gifted. I enjoy trying to follow young actors that I think will grow into stardom. Grace in these two roles looks like she is on target for that type of career. The movie will remind you of a Wes Anderson or Watitie film two great directors.I was afraid the movie was taking the turn of being PC correct in every aspect of its characters. But it does so without shoving it in your face, Davis is powerful in her troop leader role as is the whole cast. I was teary eyed a few times in this touching depiction of a young girl full of Hope surrounded by nothing in her world that called for it. So she reached beyond and found other misfits like herself and it makes for a fine film. If you like Grace here check out Gifted. Rich

Looks Very Very Promising! Outstanding Plot Cast and Cienatography
13 January 2020
Never been a Steven King fanatic. At first glance the story seemed like so many other child murder series before it. But after the first two episodes I am hooked and can;t wait for week three. The cast is great and for Ozark fans Jason Bateman also directs, I have also been a huge Medelson fan for a long time. But what has stood out so far is the work of the camera in scene after scene from the long shot indoors of the child's family to the opening of part two. Check it out I am sure you will not be disappointed. Expect more twists in the future? Rich

Two of our generations top actors at the top of their craft.......

Hopkins and Pryce are fantastic and the Two Popes is worth the watch just for that itself. The story while probably not accurate is a beautiful historical piece of writing. Don't miss it.

A Deeper Darker expanded Scrooge.......
23 December 2019
While the 1951 version with Alistar Sims will still be the best version I think Dickens would be excited by this new expanded version. While keeping the entire story in tact it adds on a number of great facts to the past present and future of our hero. Guy Pearse is as good as ever as Scrooge. I thint it is worth the 3 hours run time. Merry Christmas Rich

Leaves you hoping there is a Marriage Story 2. One of the Years Best!
6 December 2019
I am not a big fan of either of the lead actors but both where fabulous in this trip through a painful legal divorce battle. The supporting cast from Liotta to Dern where perfect and I was trilled to see Julie Hagerty in a nice size role as her mother. Anyone who has been through the process especially when a small child is involved can feel their pain while clearly understanding that they still love each other. Sometime Life's choices don't work out because both want things to go in different directions. The movie never rushes through important scenes and left me wishing there would be more to tell about this relationship in the future.

The Crown (2016–2023)

Season 4: Fantastic and Darker than even the War Years, Diana and Thatcher new editions spectacular.
19 November 2019
Lets face it The Crown is not for everyone but anyone who loved the first three seasons will find this season worth the wait. Oliver Coleman and most noticeably Tobias Menzies of GOT fame bring their special abilities to the major roles as before. The addition of the Diana and Thatcher add so much to the story line and their contributions are outstanding especially Anderson, The Series is a slice of History that continues to give us the viewers insights into the dark side of the Royal Family and all those who intertwined with them. One can only grow to hate Prince Chares more and see the wanting lustful side of Princess. Season Four retains its breathtaking style and is not to be missed. I found one episode not up to standards and had a problem with the lack of accomplishments that Thatcher brought to England not covered. Rich.

At the Heart of it ALL a wonderful uniquely odd family tale. with great Animation! watched in one sitting!
5 November 2019
Powerful Story-Great Performances-Engrossing-Not to be Missed. While being a giant fan of animation I tend to lean much more to the Studio Ghibli style of hand draw rather then other new forms like this, The animation is the live actor profile as used in Anomolisa a movie I disliked for its plot. Here it enhances a wonderful full story line because of the plot line needs to be animated to work. , Give it a try.......rich

No Paradise Lost buy Griping and well wort your time.
28 July 2019
There are no great action sequences and no winners in this film. But if you love to watch an fairly covered historical account of a murder case this fits the bill, I found myself a routing for a black man convicted of murdering a 12 year old white boy.. Only flaw is that I think they give away the result in their presentation but I was still unsure what that would be in the end. rich.

5 June 2019
As a Black Mirror Major Fan I long awaited season 5. One the best shows on cable with only a few sub par episodes. Smithereens is not one of them it is one of the best Mirrors ever. Andrew Scott our favorite from Mystery was outstanding. Edge of the seat with emotional depth and a dig on Facebook to boot. I know if your a Mirror Fan you don't need to read this to the others just start with this one and you will be back for more. Rich
