Somewhere in between!
22 July 2016
POSITIVE ASPECTS :

A very nice concept...new and fresh.

Narration is quite good.

Acting is okay. Needs a lot of improvement, though.

Stories are great.

NEGATIVE ASPECTS : PRODUCTION IS VERY VERY LOW!

Sound mixing - below average.

Cinematography : below average.

Camera Quality : The worst i have ever seen. My eyes start bleeding when i see the picture quality. Seriously, what do you guys shoot with - a 2MP Nokia Asha?

As this a joint venture of Balaji and Thakkar, i'd like to request Balaji to please increase the budget. This show has the potential of becoming a TRP blockbuster, a commercial hit, if executed properly. Balaji has produced some of the biggest hits on Indian television and it still continues to do so. This production house can literally claim to be the biggest of 'em all. Then why compromise in producing such a show?

Na..na.......nagin!!! (whispers)

Warning: Spoilers
The concept of shape-shifting snakes is very interesting and captivating hence the TRPs. But the story? It was repetitive. Remember Naaginn on Zee TV? It's basically a remake with a small twist - Shesha's ulterior motive and the revelation of the 5th murderer. The story could have been much better with a new concept altogether. Love-n-vengeance are seriously boring us to death. The romance scenes were very cheesy, unnecessary and time-consuming. The series was fast paced initially which made it interesting but slowly it got slower. Balaji must have invested a lot more on the VFX rather than Sudha CHandran's over-the-top make-up. Dance sequences were poorly shot although the over-all cinematography was commendable.Sound mixing was really good. All the actors were average. Introduction of mindless stuff like "ichhadhari squirrel and peacock" took away all the interest.

Vasl - Life in it's natural form
13 May 2016
Talking of the technical aspects, acting, direction, production, editing, and sound mixing - they're all superb. The story is very realistic. Talks about gender roles, and teaches a lot of life lessons. No problem is exaggerated. It's a very down to earth show. The story is beautiful. Dialogs are not over-the-top like in other serials. They are very natural like in everyday conversations. It's like you can actually relate to them talking. Vasl is a very true picture of day-to-day life. The only thing that might pull down the show however is Faisal Rehman's portrayal of Salman. Ayesha Khan's portrayal of Henna can scores cent percent. Juggan Qazim is at her best. Other characters also play a good role and keep the series running.

Adini Feriha Koydum (2011–2012)

A treat for the Eyes, but not for the Mind!
12 May 2016
Warning: Spoilers
The story is kinda naive but the acting is really good, production is good, direction is superb, but the editors need to learn where to use which background music. The love story is enchanting and it brought tears to my eyes. But to be honest it's not very different from a typical Indian drama - someone or the other is always in the hospital, there's a lot of courtroom drama and numerous vamps are introduced in the story line to keep the TRPs high. The vamps play dirty games and the main character Feriha just goes trough all of it like the helpless damsel in distress. The first part of the show is nice as it's about class hierarchy, lies and the power of love but later on things go haywire. It's more or less like the Turkish version of any Ekta Kapoor blockbuster. Although the actors are beautiful, the story is not that logical, although very captivating. Hope you found this review helpful!
