The Sin Seer (2015)

Way too Cheesy (Contains Spoilers)
20 August 2017
Warning: Spoilers
This movie was awful, the story-line was not developed or explained until the end. The cops only appeared in the first half when he shoots the man in Rose's office, after that, they kill a police officer and her sister and no one shows up as they ride into the sunset. Then the supposed twist comes up when she figures out he is the killer and suddenly he is no longer a crack shot but some inept buffoon who doesn't know how to aim. And she kills him, what will she do next, bury him in the fields. NO emotion, no police, just vengeance; for what he was protecting her. NO sense, too cheesy.

Supremacy (I) (2014)
White Supremacy Black Power
30 June 2015
I found this on Netflix and decided to give it a gander. It is intense and deals with the racial tension that has always existed between the races. The recently paroled inmate vs the aging man who was once an inmate. It seeks to show how they are different but the same. Each has come to a decision that not only affects them but others. In the end they both learn from each other that hate is a business and both of them have been pawns of propaganda. Very interesting para-drama between the mother and the daughter. The daughter blurred the family lines with self-preservation. Tension mounts throughout the entire movie and each must face their own mortality and fears in order to survive.

Interesting Concept

This movie, though interesting, is filled with clichés. It is about a young girl who marries into a wealthy family. She grew up in poverty and wants the grandeur his family provides. When she has her first child the husband hates her and the child so in desperation she leaves the child with her aging mother to raise while she pursues a career and runs from a bad marriage. I must applaud it for delving into the interracial aspects. Her daughter, Jenny, grows up to fall in love with a black man whom she is ashamed to bring around her family. This shames the grandmother and further alienates her from her mother. It is a story of love, forgiveness, social mores, and passions that make us strive for something that is often unattainable.
