The Blues Brothers (1980)
Eternally Cool .. a time capsule.
Maybe the most re-watchable movie ever made.
Musically superb and very funny ... "How much for the little girl? I want to buy your children ... sell them to me!"
A wonderful "mission from God"!
Should be compulsory in every home :)
Pet Sematary II (1992)
A dog gone mongrel of a movie!
Tried to get into it but not fur long.
More hairy than scary ... more bunny than funny. In the end just left me ticked off.
I don't wish to karp on but if you want real Stephen King chills then ferret round and find yourself a copy of The Shining ... coz PS2 is just a low budgie steaming pile.
I'm done now and I apologise for the cheep gags .... not very mice :(
El Chapo (2017)
Nachos...
Mexican Narcos!
Excellent series just not quite up to the venerable Narcos but still totally bingeable.
Mmmmmm Nachos!
The Revenant (2015)
I need a Bex and a good lie down....
I have never waited so long for so little to happen.
You can't just watch this movie - you endure it.
Great cinematography and di Caprio brilliant as always but I was grateful when the closing credits came along.
I have no intention of ever watching this movie again.
Hereditary (2018)
Classic creepy horror
No snacking, no comfort breaks and lights out because this one requires your full attention from start to finish ... and it is so worth it.
Brilliant performances all round with a cracking storyline elevate this movie alongside some of the all time greats of the genre (The Shining, The Bad Seed, The Haunting, Shutter Island, The Exorcist, Repulsion, The Innocents ...)
No spoilers just enjoy the ride ... and all this from first time full feature director and writer, Ari Aster ... watch this space!
Wow. Stupendous.
Family Guy (1999)
Hilarious, edgy ... brilliant
One of my all time favorite shows.
Sure it's vulgar, sexist (giggity), discriminatory, all sorts of terrible things but hey, to varying degrees aren't we all? (Even if you only think it, it still counts). That's part of the fun of it ... no pc bs!
Stewie to Brian ... "Why are you licking yourself down there?"
Brian "I'm cleaning myself."
Stewie "You were clean 15 minutes ago, now you're just on vacation!"
Love ya' Griffins ... except Meg of course ... greatest bunch of degenerates ever to grace our tv screens :D
The Godfather (1972)
Perfection on film (with Godfather II as it's worthy companion piece ... Godfather III - Good not great.)
To the (few) giving poor revues ... be very careful. It'll be a late night knock on your door or an invitation for coffee from an old 'friend' or maybe you'll be in a cinema watching Shawshank Redemption, then KAPOW! You'll be nothing more than a red smudge on the wallpaper.
You must never go against the family.
Correct your revue now or it will be you who's 'corrected'.
Death in Brunswick (1990)
As Australian as the pavlova!
Let's get one thing straight ... if Sam Neill and John Clarke weren't born in Australia then they bloody well should have been. There must have been a stuff up with the paperwork. Regardless they're ours now. You folk across the ditch just stop yer bleating and go and annoy some sheep.
This little cracker is one of the finest and funniest films Australia has produced (graveyard scene an all time classic).
No spoilers .. just don't miss it.
R.I.P. John Clarke .. I'm despatching the hounds to ensure the sanctity of YOUR final resting place at once! Arkle on from afar ... Miss ya mate.
Shutter Island (2010)
Sublime Scorsese psychological mystery thriller.
One of the all time greats of its genre .. no spoilers here just enjoy the ride for yourself .. and stay for Dinah Washington's "This Bitter Earth" closing credit soundtrack to complete the experience.
Wow! This is what movie making is all about.
Adventures of Superman (1952)
Original and the best!
The world just seemed a little safer when the 'Harry Highpants' of Super Heroes was lurking in our phone booths ... gets better (and funnier) with age
