The Ruth Rendell Mysteries: Wolf to the Slaughter: Part Three (1987)
Love Inspector Wexford
The portrayal of the no nonsense copper played by George Baker is so realistic. As usual, this Rendell mystery is well written. It is worth note that this is one of Idris Elba's first acting jobs at least on TV. Not many lines but it is after all Idris Elba.
Sherlock Holmes: The Boscombe Valley Mystery (1968)
Incorrect credit given for actor
In the list of characters and their actors Nick Tate is credited as playing James McCarthy however I kept saying to myself that's a James Purefoy and sure enough at the end when they rolled the credits. Sure enough the part of James McCarthy was played by James Purefoy.
The Champions: Autokill (1969)
Poorly filmed, acted, and shot
From the first or second show I couldn't stop watching this train wreck. From the "tile" floor that rolled up in a fight to the boulders that moved when jumped on. This show is laugh riot.
NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service: Dead Reflection (2011)
No, not really
This whole story line with the new team, EJ specifically was under done. They kept repeating that EJ was a good agent. Well, she wasn't. She ran off at the slightest thing, didn't think things through she was a disaster, she took "clues" at face value and she was off and running. Her actions got several people killed. She was officious and smarmy. Acted as if she knew everything, I guess you can tell I hated this character as she written and acted.
Pompeii (2014)
Not the best
I watched this for Kit Harrington. To see him in something else besides GOT. Well, at least he knew something. But there are so many stereotypes. Boy meets girl, boy loses girl, boy gets girl back, boy kisses girl, they both die. Atticus dying "I die free", shades of STARGATE and nobody gets out alive!
Poirot: Three Act Tragedy (2010)
Much deeper looking back
It wasn't until looking back, that I realized how much deeper this story is than many of her others. This story shows the depth of Poirot as a person. This man who remained much of a mystery himself through all the novels. Poirot had so few true friends in his life. Sir Charles was a person Poirot felt warmly about, one of his closet friends, of which he could count friends on one hand. The story winds through the usual machinations of the Poirot stories. The end was what touched me, some may think the words "It could have been me" was Poirot's usual fascination with himself. But, I think the meaning of his words were his realization that "his friend" was so unfeeling that at the first murder Sir Charles just wanted someone to die, it didn't matter if had been a man he has claimed to be a friend, that Sir Charles was so devoid of humanity and the mask had fooled Poirot for so long.
Endeavour: Prey (2016)
Tiger Tiger burning bright
I have read with interest the reviews that say how stupid this is that it is unbelievable. Stories are for all different reasons. Some to teach history, some, a lesson, some a joke. You must be willing to suspend belief to enjoy a story. I enjoyed this story with its twists and turns. As for the folks that say how ridiculous is it that someone kept a tiger in an English for all that time and no one knew. Perhaps you have forgotten the story of Ming the tiger who grew up in an apartment in Harlem and lived there there for three years. The law never sussed to this. I don't think after that I can find it so unbelievable hat a tiger could be kept in the middle of the woods in an area of may 100 acres if not more. By the way, the owner of the tiger also had an alligator there as well. I watched this for the second time and realized that the young man was Hathaway from Lewis, didn't tumble to that the first time. Also, this episode allowed me to see Bright in a different light until this episode he had no depth but he showed the type of person he was, that there was an inner strength in him.
