Ginny & Georgia: Hark! Darkness Descends! (2023)
Season 2, Episode 8

Deep and musical, a gem in the series
1 March 2023
This has to be my favorite episode yet! Wonder it is not rated even higher.

The drama is brilliant, personal feelings so perfectly woven into how the theater play is going.

Ginny's and Marcus's scene showcases some brilliant acting, the both of them are just fantastic in their emotions and body language.

So much music in this episode makes it even better.

This also seems to be a deeper-than-usual episode with all the monologues, despite other episodes also dealing a lot with mental health. Right at the start I knew this was going to be a different episode, but not SO much!

There is a lot of emotion going on and the musical just made me have goosebumps all over.

Heartfelt
5 June 2021
This episode was incredibly hard for me to watch. Medical procedures make me anxious and Naomi Ackie's performance is so amazing that it was (way too) easy to fully empathize with her and feel her feelings. I cried and laughed (mostly the first) through the episode. I understand it feels tedious but it wants to depict how the actual process must feel in real life and this was the best artistic way to portray just that,

Emotional

I didn't expect it to get this deep. He is fabulous and her story in that episode, and the older woman's too is so touching. A surprising amount of emotions.

Really entertaining but with meaning

Okay, this is THE single best sereis with THE best soundtrack. Have you seen and heard how well ALL songs and lyrics fit the current settings?

Also, episode 3 was surprisingly deeeeeeeep. I am looking forward to seeing more, I hope the creators won't run out of ideas in a couple of seasons.

I might have found my favourite movie
23 February 2018
Truth to be told, I am not an avid movie watcher and there are even some classics I have yet to watch, but I have also seen quite a few so I wonder anything would top this. I didn't watch this movie for ages because my stupid judgemental self thought it was just another throat slicing action film, based on violence. Never could I have been more wrong.

The movie is simply fantastic. I never knew there was such a thing as a moviegasm, but on the rooftop scene I was crying from joy and sadness at the very same time, it was overwhelming.

Hugo Weaving is also great as V, this masked character couldn't be more alive, the little movements he makes with his body and head makes you kind of forget you don't see his face, and his intonation and overall the way he speaks makes you love him.

Also, Natalie Portman is gorgeous even with a bald head, but much more importantly, every move she takes is completely believable. The thing with her and V will stay with me for some days for sure, because I am jus that type...

The writing is also perfect and there is not one scene I would change.

Also, the lighting - when he is sitting on the bed with the old lady, he is in complete darkness and she is lit - this, and other little things like it make it visually enjoyable as well.

All of the movie is so damn clever, I cannot give it anything less than a 10/10.

Not valuable if you were born later than the 80s

Warning: Spoilers
This movie was a huge disappointment for me, after how much everyone has been praising it, and after seeing its IMDb score. Now I understand that all this praise is only because the movie is SUPER old. I absolutely understand that seeing these special effects, visuals in 1968 and that and the following decade must have been completely overwhelming. I also understand that many movies, even Star Trek and Star Wars took inspiration from the shapes and solutions of this movie - the movie to the genre of sci-fi is like Iron Maiden to heavy metal.

Apart from this, I didn't only grow EXTREMELY bored while watching, actually at times I wanted to shout and I was punching the air because I was so nervous. Not nervous because not knowing what is going to happen and because the movie was interesting, no, not at all. There were several scenes, were NOTHING happened for 5-10 or even 15 minutes. I loved the beginning with the apes, but those extra long spaceship scenes made me go crazy. I was sitting and sitting and doing nothing and watching nothing. What was once a great technical achievement (like filming those rotating things) means nothing to me. Maybe (for sure) I am too young, and a 'spoilt' 90s 'kid', but I didn't find my enjoyment in this movie.

I spent all 160 minutes waiting for something to happen. I had no idea what was happening or where the story was leading, but keeping the high ratings in mind, I was expecting a huge plot twist at the end of the story, that would make me go 'oh my god', I was expecting a kind of mindfvck, like at Interstellar. Sure, a plot twist happened, and it was definitely unexpected, but didn't help me case, only made it worse. That room. What is that room? There, also everything was happening so damn slowly, and no dialogues... Sure, I read the explanations of what it is, but none of that was clear from the movie.

I really liked the creepiness of HAL though, and its/his? showing emotions towards the end.

This movie wasted my 2.5 hours, sorry! I guess I was born too late?

Really bad
3 June 2016
Please never watch this movie. The only worse movies are the ones INTENDED to be a bad movie. The whole thing, plot, acting, jokes are very forced, and all jokes are overused, nothing comes naturally and nothing is actually funny. A lot of scenes were painful to watch, I am not sure why I even watched it to the end. The characters are also very cliché, but they could be OK, but the whole thing is just boring and forced. I was really bored when I started watching this but maybe I would have been better off without the movie. I seriously didn't laugh once. Many of the happenings are simply unimaginable (what is with that car, impossible, also, why would she ever marry him if he is like that - takes away all the credit).

Good ideas, super irritating lead
22 May 2016
The show has some really great ideas and funny characters, except one - Phil Miller is the biggest retarded asshole ever, and they way his character acts almost makes the show unwatchable. To see him perform his childish, selfish, idiotic things makes me IRL nervous, and oftentimes I wished to quit watching the show. Still it has some intriguing parts, so I actually kept on watching the whole first two seasons, and if I don't forget about it, I will carry on with the 3rd. Just less of Phil's stupidities, please. It's not your typical 'bad guy' character in the show, he is genuinely irritating which breaks your watching experience.
