The best thing about the Los Angeles Olympics
28 August 2022
This aired on ITV in the UK whilst the BBC televised the Olympic games. We were on holiday in Wales, stopping with our cousin's and the adults were obsessed sport so V was recorded and we watched it the next day and the next, it was absolutely fantastic and we were hooked. Having recently gotten hold of a HD version I decided to watch it again and relive my 14 year old self. It's still a great show, the effects are dated yes (something my uncritical eye didn't notice back then) but being older I see the similarities between this and the war. Abraham (Leonardo Cimino) stole every scene he was in and his speech about hiding the scientists in his outhouse brought me to tears. It's fair to say, second time around it didn't have quite the same impact, but a different one and still very enjoyable to watch.

Absolutely loved this film
27 August 2022
This is, in my opinion the best Terminator movie since T:2. I don't know what it is, but it's got this great nostalgic feel about it, from the Terminator in the park, to the scene in the sporting goods store where Kyle is in the photo booth. The action sequences are fantastic as are the effects and Arnie is on top form with his Terminator one liners, they've even got JK Simmons in there. I wish they'd carried on with the original plan to make another two, but they decided to make Dark Fate and I'll leave it there (as it's my least favourite and that's saying something considering number 3). I've watched this more than any of the others, it's that good.

What's not to like

Suspend all belief for a couple of hours and enjoy an over the top action vampire film. This was way better than I expected it to be. The action scenes are well done with so much going on it's an assault on the senses sometimes. Snoop Dogg steals every scene he's in and the chemistry or intended lack of between Franco and Foxx is fantastic. All in all a great film which I'll be watching again in the near future.

The Gray Man (2022)

If you've read the books, you'll be disappointed
7 August 2022
I've read the first three of Mark Greaneys Gray Man series and was seriously impressed with them, even getting them on audiobook so I could listen to them in the car, so I was excited when I saw this was filming. Unfortunately it strays so far from the book that I didn't really enjoy it. If you haven't read the book, then it's a great standalone film, but if you have then you're in for a letdown.

Abysmal for any true bond fans
7 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I don't often write reviews but I couldn't not on this occasion. I've been a fan of Bond since as long as I can remember and aside from Die another Day, have enjoyed them all immensely, from save for this latest offering. James Bond is first and foremost an assassin, albeit sanctioned by HM Government, he's still a stone cold killer. What we have here is a whimpering, emotional wreck of a character, who couldn't be further from what we've come to expect from Bond. These are movies intended to entertain, not educate, so I'm not really interested in whether Bond is in touch with his feminine side as I couldn't care less, just as long as he's shooting people, driving fast cars and blowing stuff up. There are certain things that are pretty much guaranteed in a Bond film, he gets the girl, saves the world and lives to fight another day, but not in this one. I can't believe they killed him off, for what reason?? I was shocked, watching the credits roll, thinking, nah, they've not killed him, but they did. It wasn't a very good film to begin with, but to then kill him off at the end, was too much for me. It probably doesn't help that none of these movies (save for Skyfall) actually felt like a Bond movie nor does DC make a good Bond, he's just not cool enough.

Brilliant

I haven't laughed this much at a British TV shows in years. The actors have fantastic chemistry and are brilliant on screen together.

Good God, what we're they thinking.

Where should I start, probably the end and that way I could have saved myself from 2 hours of Ruby 'wooden' Rose. The poor girl can't act to save her life, the best she did for Batwoman was resign. I especially loved the part where they travel along a pipeline in go karts!! No chance of those giving off sparks. Save yourself some pain and hit your hands with a hammer instead.

What's not to like
3 February 2020
This game is up there with my all time favourites. It's got mutated humans, evil commies and a time manipulation device. It's a bit linear but who cares, I loved every scary, jump scaring, holy crap where did that come from moment of it. I hadn't played it for a good few years but decided to dust off my 360 and I'm glad I did as I'd forgotten how bloody good it was. Like one other reviewer said, I can't believe it's not more popular.
