The Wheel of Time (2021– )
1/10
This isn't WoT. This is bad WoT fanfic
26 November 2021
If you have any interest in Robert Jordan's Wheel of time, this isn't it. Avoid this like the plague.

It really isn't the actors' fault. They were given nothing to work with. Some of the actors are good, some not. But the dialogue is wooden and nonsensical, the motivations opaque where they aren't ridiculous.

The showrunners and writers have utterly failed WoT fans, and done a massive disservice to potential now fans.

The overall theme here seems to be Rafe's determination to prove that he could do WoT better than Robert Jordan- he can't.

Nothing Special, Until Everything Changed
9 April 2019
Most of the movie is your average 'oblivious party people' survival horror. Not bad, but nothing to really stand out. Until the very end. The very, very end. Suddenly, everything needs to be re-evaluated. ... From what I can tell, this was released in August 2017. It will be interesting to see how it ages. Anything more would spoil it. Just watch it. Stay until the very end.

Cyber Bully (2011 TV Movie)
3/10
Heart was in the right place, but meh.
2 January 2014
Yes, cyberbullying is rampant, and yes its continuing to get worse. I don't think anyone disputes that. And yes, one way to draw attention to something like this is by making a movie about it.

Cyberbully plays like an After School Special from the early 90's. The characters are painfully flat and unconvincing, the plot is bland and predictable, and even the drama points made for more effective black comedy than actual drama.

Overall, Cyberbully has an over-dramatic, hysterical tone which almost seems like it could have been made by teenage girls. Maybe that was the intent?

While I appreciate the attempt at making a movie dealing with an increasingly hurtful phenomenon, this movie actually ends up trivializing the very issues it was trying to draw attention to.

A for effort, D- for execution.
