Ingrid Goes West (2017)
Started out great
I was ready to give this a much higher rating until the brother came in, that actor's character brought the whole vibe down. It went from dark fun to utterly unenjoyable real fast. You're supposed to love to hate the antagonist here, but he seemed to come out of some other very dark film with no charm. It wouldn't have mattered if he wasn't so prominent.
Love on the Spectrum U.S. (2022)
Rare treat
Just as delightful as the previous version from Australia. Life affirming and lovely. I only wish I could be friends with them all! Only disappointment is that there aren't enough episodes. Please keep making this show!
Untold: Caitlyn Jenner (2021)
I'm old enough to remember Bruce Jenner
Even if you weren't into the Olympics (and who wasn't back then?) you still knew who he was, because he was everywhere (and very handsome). This is the documentary I've been waiting for, his story very well done and it was great to reminisce those days. What can I say, I miss Bruce!
Before/During/After (2020)
Pretty obvious all the 10 reviews
All the 10 reviews are obviously people who worked on the film. I didn't care about any of the characters.
Evil Lives Here: On the Run (2017)
How the hell does the daughter
..hug and cry over her father at the end?? I was so shocked at this. It's not like he was a great guy then snapped, he was always horrible then turned deadly. Sadly many of these episodes are about those who look the other way when someone is clearly being evil.
The Corndog Man (1999)
My Favorite Obscure Movie
Triple K Marine! This little known movie (and I mean little known, there are no reviews at Rotten Tomatoes) has been my favorite ensure film ever since it came out. I was lucky to find it on a Blockbuster shelf. I am not even sure it ever came out in the theaters. I've passed this film onto family members since no one I know has ever heard of it either. I can't even find anyone to talk about it on the Net! Put simply, there is nothing else like it. The scenes are quite simple, a man's voice (we never get to see his face, and I love that) is calling Noble Willingham's character over and over on the phone and calling him "Daddy". Why? In my opinion who cares, I just love seeing how Noble's character breaks down with each call! And the interplay between the two men is even funny at times. We do find out why this man (voice) has come to town with one mission only. The soundtrack alone is terrific, and I wish it were on a CD. The acting is...well it doesn't even seem like acting! Trust me if you like offbeat films, see it!
