The Cloverfield Paradox (2018)
Power shortages - but millions of lights everywhere
The world is running out of power sources.... Apart from wind, sunlight, water, corn, coconut, alcohol...
The world is running out of power.... The husband on earth has 5 lamps in his bedroom
The space ship is running out of power.... The ship has thousands of lights on - many on the outside of the ship....
The space ship is running out of power... they have huge TVs switched on with nobody watching and beeps and bleeping
The ships are powered by top scientists... so the moment there is a problem:
They all panic panic panic.... you know... like Paramedics who work in emergency care or the fire-brigade... panic when doing their day job
They need to be reminded that they need to survive... keh?
They need to be persuaded to stop being glum and do their job...? (Men are terrific?!
They jump scared when they hear a strange noise....omg!?
They get angry during pressured environments... (where the heck did they train? At a car wash for toy cars?)
When they see someone in distress they behave like hysterical drunks.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
The Double (2011)
Spoiler: Ay Carumba!
So a tanned Harvard geek obsesses about Cassius - A psycho from the nineties who was paid to kill by the Russian government.
Mr Harvard exclaims passionately "Why did Cassius use cheese wire to kill, I want to get to know him, I want to know what makes him tick". BLUNDER ONE: Assassins do it as a job, they get paid well and it doesn't bother them enough to quit. Simples.
Within moments of Richard Gere (The 'Double') persuading his Harvard, FBI colleague to give an imprisoned ex Russian assassin a huge radio that only plays Russian music, the Russian nearly faints in joy at the gift, however the moment he's alone the Russian swallows the batteries from the radio, starts vomiting blood, gets taken to hospital, vomits the batteries up, then attacks two coppers, taking one of their copper guns, runs out of the hospital only to get his throat cut in the style of Cassius.
BLUNDER YUCKY DUCKY VERY F***Y: All that happens, and Mr Harvard doesn't think through how suspicious that makes Richard Gere look. This Russian in prison has been in solitary for a decade, with not even a radio to listen to, because he's so dangerous... but an FBI agent can hand over a radio the size of a brick.... and not even the guards think to take it off him.....
Fuzz Buckets!
Boss (2011)
Fantastic
Kelsey and the gang - absolutely incredible. The writing and the look, chilled me. Every moment and twist was electric. Not a bad moment. Superb. Power and the people that hold power - ruthless, cunning, vicious, frightened, gentle, brutal.... Top Top Show!!! Perfect! The actors that played Boss's wife and daughter, complex, damaged - so realistic. The daughters lover, again - all the innocence and brutality of someone that loves and needs to survive in a cold world. Boss's team, the vamp in cropped blond hair - she seemed a stereotype, but she cracked that mold, intensity and charisma, pain and sensitivity. If I met those characters in real life, I would dislike them, but the writing and acting made me care and question myself, in regards my ambitions and who I consider worthy of being liked/loved.
Scandal (2012)
Actor great
Acting great, looks great, exciting characters..... story interesting... but the First Lady and President's dialog and emotional reactions to each other and the protagonist SUCK! They are both wet, 1 dimensional parodies, self obsessed, cry babies. Is it not a recession in the US? You'd think the President and his wife would stop navel gazing and simply grow up. So they don't fancy each other - that's normal! Quote she"Are you going to miss me?", him"That was an asinine thing you did today....you might of got away with it this time....but blah blah" she"careful, if you threaten me, I might actually get angry"... YEAH and I might actually give a monkeys! Surely if they're both educated up to the eyeballs, with kids and the US relying on them, any hatred or upset would be relegated to the 'later' or 'after he's president' time, not every quiet moment! Or does she want to push him (which he allows) to such an emotional wreck (as if being the president isn't already enough strain for one human being) that he bombs North Korea or orders the assassination of a French leader! COME ON - NOT GOOD ENOUGH... who writes such wet characters... I pity the actors playing these two!
