Free Guy (2021)
The fascists are really out to hate this movie
It may not be an art film, but the decoration that brings the anti-capitalist message is designed to reach a particular audience that needs to hear it. It's silly and Reynolds's humor isn't in top form but the accessible and poignant subtext encouraging non-competitive and convivial living is rare and needed. It's not the Truman Show or the Matrix because it's not about physical humans being trapped, it's literally about a consciousness that did not know it could exist becoming alive, and encourages the audience to awaken one's true self from the programmatic urges of contemporary life. What other contemporary movie (if any, ever?) employs a General Strike as a plot element? The NPCs literally rise up against the hierarchy of their world in order to birth themselves into their nascent being.
Farscape: A Constellation of Doubt (2003)
Despite major flaw, episode allows characters to emotionally shine
Only Aeryn and perhaps Sukozu should be able to speak English in this episode's source material, however, if you can forget/forgive this glaring error, their interactions with Bobby allow a human perspective to penetrate these alien creatures' ways, and how they relate to the target audience.
