Lady Ballers (2023)

Sometimes funny, but preachy.
21 January 2024
It's not a bad idea to make a movie about this topic. Overall the movie tries to be funny and there are a few scenes that it actually achieves it. It is an absurd comedy, of course, but that's ok.

However it gets way too preachy way too fast. There are statistics and dogmas thrown at you throughout the movie. I think it needed to be more subtle.

The actors... Well, they're clearly not the best, but they make a decent effort. Jeremy Boreing is just fine, surprised with Matt Walsh, he does a good job with his character. The rest, not the best.

I give it a 5/10, just for the effort and for trying to be politically incorrect.

Flat, predictable, but very funny

It's not a masterpiece, of course, but it's a really funny movie. Leo Harlem is a stand-up comedian and you can feel it during his acting. The script is quite simple and predictable. However it's funny, you watch it and it makes you feel good. Recommended.

Quoting Chandler Bing:

"That was on of the worst things ever... and not just on TV"

I gave it one star, because the lightning was OK.
